Chapter 91 Shocking News

Chapter 91 Shocking News
Jessica rose to her feet, an air of confidence flowing behind her. She was no longer smiling, anger caused her blood to boil yet her voice was calm as she swayed her hips, walking slowly towards Cara. "I knew how much you loved your husband, Chris, how much you cared about him and wanted to treasure the marriage for all eternity even though you did not have children.

"I know more than anyone that you planned on remaining by his side until you turned grey and old. That was what made it even more fun when I stole him away from you." An evil smirk grew on her face.

She continued in the same calm and demeaning voice. "Yes, you could say that I was greedy because what I wanted then was not a happy family but all the riches that came with being the wife of Chris Knowles.

"But getting a family was a plus for me and I have you to thank. But if you don't help me talk to your boyfriend so everything can be settled and I end up getting kicked out of my marital home..." Her face grew cold and expressionless. "Then I will have to steal Romeo away from you and leave you all heart broken and shattered once again."

Cara stared at her with disbelief. How could she so confidently say such words without even thinking twice?

She squinted, stating at the woman standing before her. Cara let out a scoffed laugh. "Do you really think... Do you really think that Romeo is a man like Chris?"

"All men are the same Cara, don't deceive yourself." She said with a roll of her eyes. She folded her arms below her breast. "If you think for one second that Romeo will not budge if I try to seduce him then you must have become a bigger fool than you were when you watched me with wide open eyes steal Chris from you."

Cars let out a laugh. "Seriously... You are such a naive soul, Jessica. I will not argue with you on such a foolish matter, do as you wish and we shall see whether all men are the same or not."

"Is that a bet I hear?" Jessica arched her brow.

"I will not be drawn into another one of your foolish games, Jessica, you can do as you wish but I will not involve myself in any foul game of yours." Without waiting for a response, she turned and walked away.

Jessica gritted her teeth in annoyance, as much as she wanted to pick up a glass and smash it, she managed to keep her anger under control so as not to create a scene.

Watching Cara walk out of the bar with so much confidence made Jessica's inside wrought and she had to hold herself back from lunging at her and pulling her hair right from her scalp.

"That btch!" She spat out angrily. "She just wait and see. She thinks that she is on top of the world now that she has the support of one of the Armani by her side, I'll have to find a way to take her down and I must do it quickly!"

Cara drove herself home, feeling angry at the kind of confidence that Jessica had while she was saying all sorts of nonsense.

"How can someone be so shameless?" She asked herself. "Trying to steal someone else's man and yet she was proudly saying it."

She felt so disgusted that she used to be friends with someone of such character. She reached for a glass and poured herself some water from a jug. Her phone started ringing just then and she picked it up from the table in front of her.

She was surprised to that it was her father that was calling. She answered the call. "Hello, dad?"

"Cara, how have you been? It has been so long since we talked last." Her father said to her.

"Dad, so sorry. I have been so busy with work and everything. I have been good though, how is everyone?" She asked as she dropped her glass on the table and walked over to the living room. "I was actually thinking about you guys."

"We are good at home, we have missed you so much. I hope the stress of work is not too much for you though, do you have time to do anything personal, like go out with friends or party or even a simple dinner with that Romeo guy."

Cara felt a smile work up on her face. She had not told her father about her relationship with Romeo yet. She had not even told anyone although it was known all through because of Romeo and their social media updates.

She sat down and relaxed on the arm of the chair. "I try to make time for fun when I can and also, Romeo and I have been... Hanging out." Her lips spread into a smile and her cheeks burnt red.

"Oh I see... You have been hanging out. Well that's good news, it's great news actually! I am happy that you are at least having time to have some personal fun." Her dad responded to her in an overjoyed tone. "So when will I get to see him again? Do you two plan on visiting us any time soon?"

She gave a nod like her father was in the room. "Yes," she added. "We will visit you even sooner than you think because I have some... News."

"News? What kind of news? Is it something I should be happy about?" He questioned.

She gave another nod, forgetting that she was alone with herself in the room. "Yes, it is good news. Great news even."

"Oh wow! Now I am super excited to hear this news! Can I get a hint?"

"No dad. Don't be impatient. We will visit you soon, don't worry." She assured him.

He let out a soft and gentle sigh. "Alright then no problem. We will meet each other soon. I will personally make you something delicious to eat."

She chuckled softly. They said their goodbyes and hung up. Dropping her phone on the center piece, she asked herself in her head, 'how will my father react when he hears that I am pregnant?'
