Chapter 134 Going To Say Hello
Jessica sat with her back almost hunching, she could not help the feeling of nervousness that clawed at her body from every angle.
Remembering her conversation with her ex the night before made her feel so anxious. Jayden was a dubious man, a very dubious one.
She hated the fact that they were meeting in broad daylight but she had no choice but to adhere to his wishes until he was gone for good.
"Hmm... I'll have to sleep over this," he has said to her the night before. "Let me get a good night sleep and then we can discuss properly in the morning tomorrow."
She almost cursed at him but had to hold herself from doing so just to protect her already shattering image.
Looking up from her cup of tea, a sigh escaped her mouth. She had started to grow impatient from all the waiting and still jayden had yet to show up even though the time they agreed on had passed by almost an hour.
Her eyes caught the figure of a very familiar person and she had to blink just to make sure she was not slready delusional. It was Cara. Of all people, it just had to be her.
A groan escaped her mouth as both their eyes locked but she felt even more infuriated as Cara looked away without a second glance.
She wanted to curse at her too. She wanted to curse at everyone. But just then, the door to the place opened and Jayden walked in with a gentle smile on his face.
Jessica immediately jumped to her feet, not knowing why she had done that actually but she did. Only after she was standing did she realize that her reaction had been totally unnecessary and she winced from the embarrassment as she noticed Cara was now looking her way.
And not just at her but at the man that was approaching her. Cara knew Jayden, of course, she and Cara had still been friends when she was going out with Jayden.
Now that she was married to Chris, Cara most definitely must have been wondering what Jessica was doing with her ex boyfriend.
But Jessica did not want Jayden to spot Cara, after all, they knew each other.
She forced a smile to her face and sat back down.
"Hello my little penguin," he held her cheeks up and pressed a kiss on her forehead. "If I had known that you would have been so excited to see me, I would have came on time. I was just busy with some things."
Jessica could not believe that Jayden had just kissed her forehead with Cara watching. What would she explain to Cara now?
But that was for her to worry about later. She forced a smile to her face while trying not to look at Cara. "Why did it take you so long to get here! Busy with some things? What could be more important than what we want to talk about?"
Jayden let out a soft laugh. "Calm down puppy, there are more important things to life than keeping a secret, don't you know? But I understand the reason you panic and it's fine. I'm not a snitch and you know that."
Jessica could not stop herself from glancing at where Cara was seated every once in a while but also trying her best not to make it so obvious that she was looking there.
What infuriated her the most was the fact that Cara did not even bother to look at her at all. Did she really not care about whether or not she was having an affair with her ex boyfriend?
Cara was not alone though, she was with a woman she–Jessica– had not seen before. She was also curious to know the kind of person Cara was moving with but she had to focus on the man in front of her as well.
"So I took a lot of time to think about it, i barely even slept through the night!" Jayden started. "I finally reached the decision that a hundred million will do."
Jessica had not been paying attention, she was too focused on Cara, the way she was laughing with the woman she was talking to, the way they seemed so close.
Jayden waited for a response and when he got one, he trailed her eyes and was surprised to see Cara where she was seated. "Oh my goodness! Would you look at that!" He exclaimed in an excited manner.
Jessica batted her lashes, she turned her head back to Jayden upon hearing his voice. Realizing that she had been caught– Cara had been noticed by Jayden– she felt her heart skip a beat.
"Oh no..." she muttered. Immediately, she grabbed Jayden by the wrist and began to plead, "Jayden please, don't talk to her, don't–" she could not help but to feel so helpless.
Jayden was smirking, excited to have seen Cara at all. If only Jessica had been a better actor then he would have missed his chance of saying hello.
She almost fell to her knees if it weren't for the fact that they were out in public. She held onto his hand tightly. "Please Jayden! I beg you, don't talk to her."
"Why?" He asked with an arched brow.
"It's complicated and you know that!" She responded sharply.
"No, things are complicated between both of you because you stole her husband but I had nothing to do with that. Cara and I are good and there is nothing stopping me from saying hello." He said with a grin.
Jessica felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. She would have loved to be anywhere else but there. "Jayden, please! Don't do this to me, please! You are the father of my child! I cannot let news of that get out!"
"Who said anything about letting it get out? I don't even have the strength to face the media." He rose to his feet, "excuse me."
Jessica swallowed.
