Chapter 118 Come Here
Romeo stared at his woman, heart filled with so much love and his face brightened up with a warm smile.
She stared back at him, trying to catch her breath but also remaining silent and hoping she would be forgiven.
Romeo turned around to look at Mr Gabriel Kennedy with whom he had been discussing business with and smiled softly. "I don't think you have met my fiancée," he pointed at Cara. "This is Cara Smith, she's also a ceo of her own company, I am sure you have heard of the Smith's company."
Mr Kennedy brought himself to his feet instantly and hurried towards Cara in composed steps. "Oh so you are the legendary ceo of the Smith's company! It is an honor to be standing in front of you. I have heard the tales of the growth of your company after your divorce-- eh... I don't know if that is an uncomfortable topic for you to talk about. I am sorry if I brought back any sad memories for you." He apologized as he brought his hand forward to shake her.
Cara accepted his handshake with a warm smile on her face. "Oh not at all, what memory is there to think back on when I have moved on to a better man?"
Gabriel turned to look at Romeo and laughed softly. "Ah that's true! What exactly is wrong with me? I am so happy that you got blessed with a better man. I think I am done here so you and your fiancé, Mr Armani, can settle your business in private."
"Oh please no forgive my manners!" Cara apologized. "I knew I should not have walked through those doors but what I wanted to tell him could not just wait. I felt so impatient to get the message to him that I even climbed the stairs all the way here! I should not have told you that though, you do not need to know such details." She let out a soft yet awkward chuckle.
Mr Kennedy chuckled as well in response to her words. Releasing her hand from his grip, he turned to look at Romeo and said, "Mr Armani, I strongly believe in you to help me out with this proposal, I have no doubt at all becauee as your fiancée has said, your name is a very powerful name. The efficiency can be mirrored through the amazing person you are.
"I thank you in advance for your help and I also deeply appreciate you for even giving me audience today even though I had not booked an appointment like I should have normally."
"Thank you for putting your trust in me. I will be sure not to let you down. Allow me see you off." Romeo pointed at the door as he spoke.
"Oh not at all! Please there will be no need for that. Stay with your fiancée instead. She climbed all of those stair cases just to see you!" Mr Kennedy declined.
Romeo shook his head though. "I insist. Let us go. We shall have a concluding meeting once the product has been rebranded to taste. Is that alright?"
The men spoke to each other about the business they had been discussing before Cara came bursting through the doors as they walked side by side towards the exit.
Romeo told Cara to excuse him for a second before leaving and asked her to make herself comfortable.
The moment the door closed behind both men, Cara managed as fast as she could towards the water dispenser and poured herself a cup of cold water. Without wasting any time, she downed in in one go and let out a sigh of relief as she felt the chill liquid slide down her throat and into her stomach.
Pouring herself another cup, she walked over to one of the conference chairs and sat down there, spinning herself softly while sipping on the cup in her hand.
She felt a little comforted that Romeo had at least introduced her as his fiancée and not business partner. That meant he had forgiven her right? She hoped.
She did not even realize it when a heavy sigh escaped her mouth. She was stressed physically and emotionally. Why had she not even waited for the darn elevator?!
What would a minute more had costed her if she had just waited for the elevator to arrive? She would have even gotten to his office earlier than she did from climbing up the stairs.
She did not feel anything before because anxiety had taken the best of her but at the moment, her legs and back had begin to tell the tale of what she had done.
They ached like her body parts were about to fall apart. All she wanted to do was to throw herself on a very soft bed and fall asleep until the next day. Probably around noon. And then she would get the breakfast in bed treatment and go back to sleep.
Normally, she knew she would be tired from such unplanned exercise but she felt even more tired than she ought to be. She could not help but to wonder if that was what it meant to be pregnant.
Moments later, the door pushed open and she rose to her feet with an instant. Romeo simply glanced at her and walked towards the side of his office that was set like a small living room with a center tsble and soft leather chairs.
Cara took in a deep breath and started walking towards him but the door opened and his secretary walked in, a wooden beautifully carved tray in her hand with two cups of smoking... Tea? In her hands. Cara was not sure.
She watched the lady drop the tray on the tsble and bowed her head to her as the secretary walked out. The young lady reciprocated the action, not seeming angry at all.
Only after the tray was dropped did Cara notice that a small white container was standing on top of it along with a small vial.
Her legs had remained glued to the spot she was standing and her heart was suddenly pounding in her chest.
Romeo, finally, turned to look at her, his emerald eyes shining with emotions she failed to decipher. "Come here..." he said softly.
His sweet honey filled voice made her stomach feel like a thousand butterflies were tickling her guts and she felt the effect all the way down to her middle.
Those simple words, gently said, carried a wave of emotions that drove her insane. Why did she ever fight with such a sexy man?
