Chapter 87

5 months later…

“Jake I can’t do this. It hurts too much.” Sonya yells as she continues to push the pups out.

“You got this love. You are the strongest person I know.”

Jake kisses her forehead and sucks on her mark. Sonya moans and pushes as hard as she can.

“Heads out. Hold up pushing for a minute Luna.”

Sonya takes short pants as the pain is excruciating.

“Okay Luna let’s get this baby out. Push as hard as you can.”

Sonya takes a deep breath and pushes with every last bit of strength she has left.

“Congratulations here is your big healthy boy. Alpha, let’s have you cut the cord.” Dr Hayes holds up the boy before she hands him over to the nurse to get him cleaned up.

Sonya and Jake embrace and kiss before they both start crying.

About 2 minutes later, Sonya is hit with an intense contraction again and what feels like a rush of fluid. The doctor gasps but dose not say anything. Jake and Sonya did not hear as they are staring at their son who is being cleaned up by the nurses.

‘Nurse get me some blood now. We have to get this baby out. Do not alarm the Alpha or Luna. Prepare an emergency surgery kit too. Get it here now. I think we are going to need to open her up shortly.’

‘Yes, doctor.’

“Alright Luna let’s meet your girl. I need you to push. She’s right here.”

Sonya nods and pushes.

“Hold on a second, her head is out.”

Sonya is still crying. Jake sucks on her mark. “Last push Luna let’s go.”

Sonya pushes out with everything she has. “Alpha, you can cut her cord as well. She is a beautiful girl momma.”

She cries harder as she hears both her babies crying.

Jake presses his cheek against Sonya’s forehead. “They’re beautiful baby. You did amazing.”

Sonya nods and then feels everything fade to black. She goes completely pale and limp.

The doctor lays the bed down immediately and pushes Jake towards the babies. The nurse comes running in to set up the surgery kit. The doctor rips out the scalpel without saying anything to Jake and sets up to open Sonya’s belly.

“What the fuck is happening doctor?”

“Alpha, I need you to step out now.”

“No, I’m not going anywhere. You are going to fix my Luna now.”

Instead of argue the doctor just nods and continues to ready herself to operate on the Luna. All the nurses are running around getting the babies ready for transport to the nursery.

Jake can hear what sounds like a waterfall flowing and is stunned as he looks to see blood gushing out of Sonya onto the floor.

“She’s bleeding, Alpha. I have to open her now. Please step out if you can’t handle this. You can go with the babies.”

“Not until I know she is okay.”

The doctor nods and opens Sonya’s belly up and they find her uterus has ruptured and is in two pieces. “Alpha, I can either remove her uterus or stitch it together and hope it heals itself. Either way she will not be able to have any more pups.”

“Just take the uterus. I would rather her be healthy especially if there are no guarantees and she can’t have pups anyway.”

“As you wish Alpha. We will leave her ovaries so she doesn’t have any hormone issues.”

He nods but doesn’t leave Sonya’s head. “It’s okay baby. Just hang on. They’re working to get you fixed up. The babies are beautiful. We need you to fight through this love.”

It takes the nurses 20 minutes to get the babies ready to move them to the nursery. Jake kisses Sonya’s forehead and follows the pups.

As he comes out of the room he stops Greg and Jim from coming to him, “Stay outside the door. Jim and Claire come with me now.”

No one says anything and just nods. Jim and Claire follow Jake and the pups to the nursery. The nurses have Jake sit in a rocking chair and have him hold his pups.

“Hi. I am your daddy. Your mommy will be over to hold you soon just be strong for us.” Jake breaks as he starts crying uncontrollably. Claire and Jim each take a pup from Jake so he can breakdown.

“I am going to fucking lose her. This isn’t supposed to happen. She should be here holding them.” Jake pleads.

Jim and Claire look at each other concern written all over their faces as they try to figure out what is going on.

Jim puts the pup down he has in its bassinet. “What’s going on Alpha?”

Jake just shakes as he continues to cry. “She’s going to die and there is nothing I can do about it. I can’t even be strong for her. I’m in here crying like a little bitch.”

Claire comes over and hits him in the shoulder. “You knock that bullshit talk off. Now tell me what the fuck is going on?”

“Her uterus ripped in half. They have to remove it. The blood…there was blood everywhere. It looked like a waterfall out of her. I’ve never seen so much blood.”

Both Jim and Claire gasp in horror. They both fall to their knees. A nurse comes and takes the baby from Claire and puts it in the bassinet with the other baby.

“You have to go back to her. Now. That’s the only way Alpha. Your mate bond is strong and it will heal her.” Claire says as she pulls him up from the chair and they all run back to the room. Claire pushes Jake back into the room.

“What’s going on?” Greg asks Jim.

Jim and Claire just cry and hug each other. “The Luna…she…she’s bleeding. Her uterus ripped.”

“What?” Sadie screams out. Her knees start to give out and Greg scoops her up before she hits the floor.

“The goddess will take care of her. It will all work out.” Greg says as he pulls them all into a tight hug.

The group lets go after several minutes and goes to the window to watch what is going on. Jake is pale sitting next to Sonya’s head holding her hand with his forehead resting against hers.

“She has to be okay. He won’t recover if we lose her.” Jim says.

“I think we all know that. I honestly don’t think any of us would be able to handle it.” Sadie says as tears flow down her cheeks.
