Chapter Sixty Seven

“I want Sophia dead, Silviu and I want her dead right now!” Elena said, barging into his room.

He said nothing and simply watched her quietly, shortly after Warren followed after her. Silviu wasn't surprised, the simpleton couldn't make any decision on his own.

Some people were unbelievably lucky, the luck he had been denied, the kind of luck that causes a fool like Warren to have an Alpha female fall hopelessly in love with him, the kind of luck that served him another Alpha female as his chosen mate… Warren had been surviving on luck and Silviu despised him for that because he better than anyone else knew there was nothing but a complete idiot behind those eyes.

“Are you listening to me?” Elena yelled at him.

He turned his attention to her. “You do not talk to me in that tone, girl,” he warned in a quiet voice. “Do not forget who got you this far.”

“Yes, Silviu, I know I would have done nothing without you but look now, nothing has been done. Gretchen has been dead for days, Natalie is in custody and this is the best time to make our move. Callan and Nikolai would be occupied with how to save Natalie and that leaves Sophia vulnerable.”

Warren nodded in agreement —of course he did.

“I trust you, Silviu but Elena is right. It is about time we make a move, you both get your vengeance against Sophia, we attack my cousin’s pack and forcefully take it. That was your plan so what is the delay now?” Warren chuckled. “Don't tell me you're getting emotional about killing your niece, she's still family after all.”

Elena’s face was a mask of fury. “Family? That bitch killed my brother and all Alexander ever did was love her. She was never deserving of my brother’s affection but what did he do? She attempted to kill him the first time and Alexander forgave her and went after her again and she killed him, she murdered my brother and has the audacity to mate with Callan and go on to have the family my brother dreamt of having with her!”

Silbvi remained quiet; the two weren't worth his energy. He remained cool-headed, his plans were set already and only he knew what they were—yes, he’d led these two idiots to believe something else but he’d needed somewhere to stay after his injury and he’d gone back to Elena promising her a chance of vengeance against Sophia if she sheltered him and like the stupid woman she was, she did. Women really had very few brain cells.

He eyed Warren distastefully, this one was a shame to men.

“You aren't saying anything. What do you plan to do concerning Sophia and her daughter?” Elena paused her ranting to ask him.

“We kill them, Elena. That has always been the plan, no? We kill them and thrust Callan into an abyss he’ll never escape from.”

“And how are we going to go about that? When are we...?”

He took in a breath. “Sit down, Elena.” and like an afterthought, he looked over at Warren. “You too.”

They sat side by side and Silviu moved across the room to the old, wooden shelf that held bottles of alcohol he’d come to treasure. He pulled out a bottle and two cups and then filled up the cups with the content of the bottle.

Silviu took the cups to them, aware of the slight creak that came from the floor of his room when he walked. Elena hadn't had the graciousness to offer him a better room when he’d showed up in his condition almost two years ago, she hadn't thought of him as useful and had dumped him in this shed, years later and he’d refused to leave as a reminder of what he’d gone through, a reminder that he had failed despite how painfully meticulous his plans had been, and a reminder that one day he would return to claim what was rightfully his.

He handed them the cups. “We will deal with Sophia in due time, Elena but that is not my focus now.” He settled himself on the couch.

“Augustine, the fool my brother put as his Beta, has overthrown my niece and is now the Alpha of Mystic Hollow pack.” He looked up at his two guests, his eyes bloodshed. “That is what I am bothered about now, the fact that not only is my position occupied but by a worthless bastard who does not have a drop of the Alden blood flowing through him. Do you know what that means? My position is being tainted by incompetence!”

Elena rolled her eyes at him. “You were never born a rightful Alpha, Silviu. Yes, I understand your need to become one but don't you think…”

“My need to become one? I was born for this, girl. The Goddess made a horrendous mistake by making my feeble-minded brother Alpha instead but I shall rectify that or die trying!”

“And there's no one better who understands you than I, Silviu. I was destined to rule the Night Blood pack and not Nikolai, the pack members love me, and I should be in his place.”

Silviu felt hate crawl through his insides. This feckless degenerate had the audacity to compare himself with him; Silviu had never experienced disrespect of this magnitude.

“I'm giving you a week, Silviu,” Elena said. “I am done sitting around and waiting for your orders like a child. If you do not come up with a plan involving Sophia and her imbecile spawn within a week then I will do something about it myself and while at it, I just might tell Callan and Nikolai where the extremely-hated Uncle of their mates has been hiding all these while.”

One of his brows lifted, a threat? That was quite interesting.

“I see you have no more regard for me,” he said.

“No, Silviu. It is you who should have a high regard for me, I am the Alpha female of the Dark Wood pack and now the Luna of the Silver pack. I am superior to you in every manner and perhaps it is time you come to see that.”

“Luna?” he asked humorously. “This idiot hasn't even been assigned the Alpha position, he is still nothing.”

Warren cut in. “I do not appreciate your tone…”

“Shut up!” Silviu barked at him, taking pleasure in how they both flinched at the sound of his voice.

Elena opened her mouth to say something, blinked, and then closed her mouth again “Yes, Elena?” he asked, irritated.

She blinked again and shook her head. “I don't feel so good, Warren.”

Silviu smiled and then finally relaxed on the sofa. This was his moment.

“I feel lightheaded myself, perhaps it's the weather and you've exerted… You’ve exerted…” Warren cleared his throat while rubbing his eyes.

Elena was the smart one of the two. She took one look at his smug expression and then another look at the cups they’d both emptied.

“You fucking bastard!” she swore quietly.

“It's a surprise you both didn't recognize the smell. After all, Gretchen has been on the same thing for months.” He shook his head. “But of course, you wouldn't recognize the smell of this one plus Gretchen’s doesn't have such strong effectiveness, I didn't think I would be able to tolerate either of you for as long. Now we know it's been long established that I have an interest in poison. I just had to get something stronger and with a faster work rate.”

Warren’s eyes widened and Silviu could see the very moment he realized. “You poisoned us?”

Silvio got up. “More of something to weaken your system instantly, its primary toxicity takes a few more days to materialize and then you would do everything within your power to end your own life. The pain disables you, disrupts your speech ability, your organs slowly begin to fail, and the misery becomes unbearable.”

“Why…” Elena managed. “I did so much for you, you ungrateful bastard.”

He walked up to her and smacked her across the face… hard.

And again.

And again.

He grabbed her by the hair across the room and slammed her head against a wall before kneeling to reach her level. “Quite ironically, you are an ungrateful bastard. The plans I formed years ago put you where you are and how did you repay me?”

“Silviu…”

“I have no more need for you. Your army will be very useful to me, I appreciate you for granting me access to them.”

She shook her head, fear in those wild eyes. “Don't do this.”

“You should have remained a woman, Elena. Mute, stupid, and important only for reproduction, the moment you thought yourself equal to me was your downfall.”

And he reached out a hand, grabbing her by the neck.

Her neck was slender and long in his grip, warm to the touch too. The sensation filled him with ecstasy, her fingers reached up scratching at him desperately and she begged with her eyes and muffled sounds. The minutes went by fast, too fast, and soon enough she went limp in his hand, her empty eyes staring up at him.

Silviu scoffed; even in death the wench still couldn't give him enough satisfaction.

He got up and looked over at the man, Warren was struggling. The pain was no longer just physical now, losing one’s mate was just as painful as the one he would go through from the poison in his system. Silviu watched him for a few seconds longer before deciding Warren wasn't worth any more of his effort and with that thought in mind, he left the room locking the door behind him.

No one would find their bodies here, the shed was hidden just as Elena had kept him hidden.

He headed off to the manor of the Dark Wood pack, he had a pack to attain, Augustine had no fucking idea what was coming!

Silviu Alden was back.
