Chapter 9 Bump into Him
"Here is the library," Shrey said, breaking George's reverie; he was immersed in her eyes as he waited for her to blink her eyes open. "I mean, look back, this is our library." This time, it was George who avoided eye contact by using his phone.
"Let’s go," George said, and he moved forward to go inside the library. "Hey, wait, where are you going?" Shrey asked, running behind him. He halted his walk, but Shrey slipped and bumped into him; it wasn’t her fault the floor was wet as it had just been cleaned.
George sighed, closing his eyes and trying to control himself. "Isn't it obvious that if I am heading towards the library, I'm willing to go in?" He turned around to face her, but she was missing; there was no one behind him. He was confused and looked around.
"Where did she go?" he asked himself as he fixed his jacket and walked towards the reception.
Louis had just come from his basketball practice, was sweating, and was heading towards the changing room to change his dirty and sweaty clothes when he spotted Shrey.
He waved at her; he walked straight to her, but she didn't see him coming as she was talking to someone; he knew he saw that man somewhere, and only when she bumped into that man did Louis carefully notice the man, his eyes widening when he realized that the man was the same person they encountered in the morning.
He face-palmed himself at her clumsiness and ran to her, dragged her along, and hid behind the pillar. "Why did you do it?" Shrey asked when she saw George turning around and looking for her, and before she would run to him, Louis grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him and shushed her to stay quiet.
He sighed and looked at Shrey, who was angrily pouting at him, "What?" Louis asked, raising an eyebrow. Shrey said nothing and folded her arms, thinking about a solid murder plan for her best friend.
"May I know under what complicity you plot this act of hiding?" Louis was confused by her words but predicted what she was trying to say. "You should thank me already that I hid you before that man could see you. How can you be so clumsy to go and bump into someone twice in just one hour? and stop reading this novel." Louis sighed as he was annoyed by the fact that the man had reached his college as well.
"What?" "Hey, I didn't bump into him intentionally; okay, both the time to be precise and why should I stop reading novels?" Shrey asked, putting her hands on the side of her waist and lessening the proximity between them in an intimidating way.
Louis was flustered and flushed at the closeness and her annoyed self. "Why do you look so annoyed?" "Ahh, shit, I have to go," Shrey said, and was about to go from there when Louis grabbed her hand and pulled her toward himself.
