Chapter 181 Epilogue
Chapter 181 Epilogue
ZAVIYAAR SHEIKH
FOUR YEARS LATER.
‘I am saying this again, I am not fit enough to be a father of a daughter. I cannot do good nurturing,’
During dawn, I woke up for Fajr and upon glancing over my shoulder, I felt a certain two months old kicking continuously in the air, making an almost crying face.
“Ah, ah, Fatimah, papa is here. Don’t cry.”
Turning to the side, my three years old Safiya and her mother were deep in slumber on the Alaskan king bed since they couldn’t sleep without us.
Sighing, I shook my head, turning on the lamp from my side.
While keeping my two-months old beloved daughter, Fatimah Sheikh, near my chest, I prepared her baby formula.
She looked absolutely adorable while feeding, eyes wide open, scanning the dark room.
“There you go, baby, it’s finished.” I chuckled, kissing the top of her head.
I loved doing my queen's work. When my face became visible, Fatimah chuckled, causing my heart to melt.
“Aw. Now let’s wrap you up again since my you can’t stop moving,”
Grinning, I wrapped her again in the sheet as she moved too much.
I vertically pressed her to my chest to help her burp while walking around the room.
After she burped, I shifted her to my arms horizontally again, pressing her against my chest, humming until she fell asleep again.
“Good night again, Fatimah,”
After she finally slept, I placed her down, pecking her forehead before going to pray for Fajr. No matter how sleepy or tired I would be, I would do anything gladly for my family.
After I was done, I woke up my beloved wife who was holding onto Safiya tightly, almost snoring.
“Aalifa, wake up. It’s time for Fajr,”
“Huh? Already? Fatimah?”
“Took her feeder, burped, changed the diaper too and now she is sleeping. You pray and go back to sleep,” I grinned, kissing the top of her head, motioning to her to relax.
“Thanks,” She smiled.
I never imagined I would hold the privilege of having a normal, happy family but here I was.
Having an angelic wife and two sweet daughters.
The next day, I returned from work, only to find Safiya crying. Her wailing echoing in the room, hugging her mother.
“Safiya, baby, what happened?” I asked hastily, coming to her side, rubbing her back as I wiped her precious tears.
“Ask your Fatima. Safiya was sleeping until she started kicking out of nowhere,” Aalifa sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Exhaling, I understood, Fatimah was so lively.
Holding Fatimah who was looking at the ceiling with her shining wide hazel eyes and wide open mouth, never failing to melt my heart by her sugary reactions.
“It's not my fault if ‘our’ baby is so energetic. But, still,” I sighed, faking disappointment before making a serious face towards Fatimah.
She also stopped staring at the ceiling and shifted her eyes on me.
“Fatima, baby, bad girl. Don’t you hit your elder sister again. Is that okay?”
“Safiya, come on, stop crying. It couldn’t be that hard,” I mumbled, placing Fatimah down and taking Safiya, rubbing her back to calm her down.
“Ask me,” Aalifa muttered from behind because my little girl had given her mother one hell of a time of her life.
“Okay, who wants to go for ice-cream?”
The second I asked happily, Safiya slipped from my arms, fell on the bed and started jumping.
“Me! Me!”
“But, you are crying. How can you possibly go?”
“I will go! I am not crying!” She grinned, wiping her tears hastily, earning a chuckle from me.
“Good. So let’s go,” I beamed, picking up Safiya to leave for our ice-cream until Aalifa cleared her throat from behind.
“Is my mouth hurting?”
“No. Is it?” I asked, confused.
“Then why is this offer not open for me?” She whined.
“Is it okay to take Fatimah outside?”
I asked innocently because Mother always instructed my cousins to not take their newborn out as it could get exposed to germs and polluted air.
“We are not going to get out of the car, are we?”
“Yeah, yeah, come on then,” I hummed, still not sure but she was two months old. It should be fine, right?
“We will wear pink.”
Enunciating with a grin, I took out my daughter’s pink frocks. I handed Safiya’s to Aalifa and changed Fatima’s myself.
“Ah, my princess is looking so pretty. Isn’t that color made for you, hmm?”
Laughing, I wanted to squeeze those chubby cheeks but refrained myself. Holding Fatimah near my chest again, loving the peaceful sensation of it.
“Safiya, please, wear your clothes,”
“No, not this!” She whined.
“This one?” She showed another pink shirt and jeans.
“No!”
“Shall papa change your clothes, baby? Like how beautifully and skillfully I did with Fatimah?” I offered.
“Yes! Yay!!” Safiya ran to me, picking the frock I picked, offering it to me so I could change her clothes.
Aalifa glared at me, “What?”
“You are looking for that one witch that steals your own children away from you,” She hissed, shaking her head before taking out her dress.
“That is your jealousy speaking, in reality, they call it attachment."
“Yeah, yeah,”
After I dressed Safiya too, I patted her head, “Safiya, go and put Fatimah’s bag in the car,”
“Okay,”
When she left, I turned to my woman, looking undeniably eye-catching. Moving behind her, I wrapped my hands around her curves, nuzzling to her neck.
“Well, well, are you jealous, Darling?” I hummed, kissing her neck, sending a shiver down her spine.
“Why would I be?”
She smirked when my hands shifted to my wrist, sliding the bangle delicately while sucking her neck until her resistance before and she moaned.
“You lost,”
“Didn’t know you challenged in the first place,” She chuckled huskily, turning back to me, wrapping her hand around my neck.
“I am happy that you are doing good so far with all your worrisome talk of not being good to daughters.” She giggled, kissing my cheeks as I held her waist.
“I hope I will turn out to be a good father, I am honestly afraid.” I chuckled nervously.
She pinched her cheeks, reassuring me as she picked Fatimah, “You will be. I have high hopes for you,”
“Hmm,”
“Let’s go.”
“Come on, Fatimah. Let’s go out for your first outing. Sadly, you can't do anything.” Aalifa teased her.
“But, don’t worry, I am here. I will enjoy in your stead,”
I laughed, kissing her and her mother’s forehead before we went down where Safiya was impatiently waiting for us.
“Papa, Mama, you are late. Let’s go. Let’s go!”
“Okay, okay, let’s go,”
We went to an ice-cream parlor.
“Which one?”
“Chocolate for me and mango for Safiya,” Aalifa grinned.
“I don’t want mango ice-cream! I want yellow one,”
“That is mango, baby,” We chuckled, pinching her cheeks.
“Oh, then I want mango,”
“Cool,”
With a never ending grin, I was staring at my family in mesmerization, praying that moment never goes away.
Maybe, not all wishes of the heart remain unfulfilled.
Now, my life feels complete.
