CHAPTER 125- PARENT'S BLESSING

CHAPTER 125- PARENT'S BLESSING
Since his meeting with Kiya, Asher has been the happiest man alive. He has been so happy that they are expecting a baby boy, he broke the news to his sister and his friends, and everyone has since been supportive.

He was also happier because he has been spending more time with Kiya. Every free time he gets, he goes over to her place and helps out with anything she needs. Sometimes he cooks along for her, and sometimes he gets her random gifts.

They have become even closer, and he even finds her more attractive now than ever.

They have created a routine around him being around. It practically consisted of him fixing anything that needed fixing around, giving her a leg massage because her feet are sometimes swollen from carrying his child, and whenever she is asleep, he speaks to her belly, hoping his child is listening, and sometimes he even reads him stories.

Now they have about a month left to go before their baby arrives. The nursery is already fully made, and everything is practically set, but something bothers Asher so much, which is that he is still very much in love with Kiya, and he realises he would love to spend the rest of his life with her even if that means forgiving and forgetting everything she had done to hurt him.

"Just tell her how you feel," Camilla said as they were seated at the dining table of the Smith's mansion. Camilla had come over to help put some finishing touches in the nursery, and she decided to sleep over at the house to also hang out with her brother.

"I don't know, Camilla, what if she has moved on and doesn't feel the same way?"

"I'm a hundred per cent sure she hasn't moved on. Dude, have you seen how you two look at each other anytime I'm with you both, I always feel as though I'm intruding on a very sacred encounter. Listen, bro, she loves you and you love her, and I support you two together. I know she hurt you, but I don't think that makes her a bad person, and quite frankly, I think things just got out of her hands and she couldn't control them. You better tell her now before she births your child and becomes a MILF to other guys."

"Gross, Camille, very gross," Asher said, playfully hitting his sister on her shoulder. He knew what he was going to do. They are way past the whole dating stage, been there, done that. He has made a decision, and he is sure about it. It is very risky, but he is going to take the biggest risk of his life tomorrow.

He finished his dinner, headed to take a shower, and then went to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a very eventful day, and if things go well, it will probably be one of the best days of his life.

The following morning, Asher woke up early, which wasn't surprising considering he barely got any sleep. He kept tossing and turning and planning things in his head just so today can go smoothly.

He got Suzan on the phone and told her about his plans, and she was excited and willing to help. He reached out to a restaurant and made reservations for the rooftop and gave them specific instructions on what he wanted done.

He then texted Kiya and asked her out to dinner later tonight. He made it sound very casual. They've shared dinner a number of times, but he told her he would just like a change of scenery this time, so instead of him going over to hers and having dinner with her there, he thought they might just go to a restaurant this time. He gave her a time he'll pick her up.

He then called Amarah. He let her in on the plans, and she sounded so excited, and that gave him more confidence because if there is anyone that knows Kiya most, it's Amarah, and if Amarah is giving him the go-ahead, then certainly Kiya must still feel something for him; he just hoped it's enough.

Dinner was set for 7pm, and he had a quick plane to catch. It was now 10am, and his flight was for 11am. It's a one-hour flight, and he'll be back by 3pm because his return flight was at two. He quickly left what little thing there was to plan with his sister and Suzan. He asked Jake to help him pick up a quick order from his jeweller and headed to the airport.

By the time he got to his destination, he took a deep breath in and gently knocked on the door to a beautiful white-painted duplex that sat in a beautiful, calm and serene neighbourhood.

A petite, stunning older woman opened the door. She looked exactly like Kiya, and it was as though he was looking at the older version of Kiya, and he was pleased knowing that someday when she is older, she will still look as beautiful as ever.

"Good day, sir, how may I help you?" Her voice snapped him out of whatever trance he was in.

He introduced himself, and watched her face light up at the realisation of who he is. She opened her door and welcomed him into her home, and then an older-looking man walked into the living room where he was now seated.

After all the introductions were out of the way, Kiya's dad asked him, "Okay, son, to what do we really owe this visit?" His voice was very stern, and he was looking straight into Asher's eyes as though daring him to cower in fear as to why he was really here.

Asher cleared his throat, took a little sip from the water Kiya's mum had offered him, and he looked straight into her parents' faces, and with as much boldness as he could summon, he simply said, "I am here to ask for your daughter's hand in marriage. I would absolutely love your blessing, and I know it would mean a lot to her that I asked you first."
