Chapter 74: Everything is Fine… Really?

“You” he replied and I thought that maybe I was hallucinating because he couldn’t possibly be getting romantic after everything.

“Asher, I don’t understand,” I said, without stuttering. Yep, I was shocked as well!

He turned me around and looked at me. He smiled. I didn’t wanna admit it, but he was looking cute when he smiled.

“Even if you don’t, I do and did love you. Have you forgotten that?”

Forgive me if his words just weren’t making any sense right now.

I looked back into his eyes. “So you punish someone you supposedly love?”

“When did I punish you?”

“You are marrying me to make my life hell, what is it? A gift?”

He sighed and kept his hands on my cheeks. “Oh, my cute Alicia. Do you really think I will make your life hell”

“Why wouldn’t you?”

“You do know that you have done wrong, I see”

“Yes, I know. But you should understand the reason behind it. Not just blindly do what you think is right”

“Oh so that is the reason that I am telling you that I love you right now”

I sighed. I don’t know what he is up to.

“But… then what were you saying till now? I mean… you were angry… and um… wanted revenge…”

He chuckled and kept his thumb on my lips. My heartbeat suddenly increased a lot. He looked into my eyes.

“Not now, right?”

I nodded because his thumb on my lips and his gaze on my eyes was enough to render me speechless.

He smiled and leaned down and placed a small kiss on my lips.

“You should call Selena and tell her that I am sorry”

“But…” I got a little away because the proximity was giving me chills and I was somehow liking it, though I wasn’t sure if I should like it or hate it.

“But shouldn’t you do it yourself?”

“Yeah but…” he sighed. “Okay you know she won’t talk to me unless she knows that I am good and not gonna hurt you. You see I tried to be the villain but I couldn’t be. So you know I am trying to be good now. So you gotta tell her that I am good now, and for that, you have to believe me”

“Okay…”

I couldn’t see the truth but what will happen if I don’t believe him, huh? I mean, why will he lie? It is not like he will let me go if I choose to!

He smiled and then I called Selena. They both talked too and then we ended the call.

I tried my best to be happy and it was convincing enough.

I looked at him after the call. He smiled generously.

“Thank you”

“Well, why thank me? I mean, it was your decision”

“For believing me”

I smiled. Oh maybe I was acting like a fool, but I believe that maybe he has changed after all. Maybe he was the Asher I knew once.

“Sure”

“Okay, um… our wedding, I am so excited for it” he whispered. “Are you?”

“It is my big day, why wouldn’t I be?”

He smiled. “Right”

I smiled and then went back to the sofa. Actually, I was just getting a little away. “So what now?” I asked him.

“Now…” he sighed. “We wait for tomorrow”

“Yeah, tomorrow is gonna be a hectic day”

“For sure” he came and sat beside me. He took my hand. “I am lucky to have you”

I looked at him. “Well…”

“Well, for now, I know you would not even think of saying the same to me, but soon you will”

I nodded. “I hope”

We talked for some minutes and then I fell asleep on the sofa itself.

I was in the main room and thinking about everything. I don’t know what I should do now. Should I go and apologize? Okay maybe my timing was a little wrong… but my intentions weren’t. I just wanted to keep her happy and keep her with me. I just wanted to secure our future.

I decided to apologize. I went towards the room and knocked on the door.

She opened it and hugged me. I hugged her back.

“I am sorry, Nick… actually, I… I shouldn’t have said like that”

“Ah… no, it was my mistake”

“Mine too”

I smiled and hugged her. “It is alright. Everything is fine now”

She smiled. “Yup! And you know what”

I denied. “Haha let me tell you then! Alicia called”

“Really? What did she say?”

“Well, Asher apologized and I talked to Alicia and she said that she is happy now”

“Really? But after everything--”

“I know I don’t completely believe them either. But she sounded naturally happy”

I sighed. “Well, if you say so”

“Okay, why are you so sad?”

“I am not sad”

“You know the answer, so don’t you dare say that you are sad for that!”

I smiled. “Then fine”

“So you were sad for that, stupid!”

“Ah did you call me stupid?”

“Yup, your ears are okay”

I sighed. She is so cute. “I am happy, Selena”

“You should be! Also, um, we are going to their wedding tomorrow”

“They are still holding it tomorrow?”

“Yeah… maybe all the arrangements are done”

“Hm right. I am happy for your brother”

“Yeah”

We went outside and sat on the sofa in the living room. I am happy I made everything fine and even Alicia and Asher are… happy, I think.
