Chapter 73: I Want You

Selena

I was shocked when I received her call. I started thinking of reasons while she responded to me.

“Hey, Selena…” she spoke. I figured she was sad though I couldn’t get the reason. Did Asher do something? Did he make her sad or something?

“What’s wrong, Alicia?” I was getting nervous by every passing minute. I wasn’t even able to think why she sounded so sad.

“Uh… Asher wants to mend things with you”

“Well… if he really wanted to, why would he make you call me? Can’t he call himself?”

“Uh… talk to him…”

“Okay”

She handed over the phone to Asher.

“Hey, Selena…” he spoke, a hint of guilt in his voice.

“Hm, Asher”

I of course wanted everything to become fine but I also wanted him to let Alicia go because suddenly, I didn’t feel that he was ‘good enough’ for her. Yep, my point of view for him has changed now.

“I am sorry, Selena. For what happened--”

“I can forgive you, but on one condition”

“Yup?”

I knew if I said it, it might make him angry and yell at me, or maybe he would understand me. But I have to do this because this is the necessity… I swear if I had a choice I would have not done this.

“Let Alicia go”

He stayed calm for a moment. I feared it was the calm before the storm but fortunately he chuckled.

“I really am not like, kidnapping her or something. She is with me willingly. You can ask her”

“Oh, is she?”

“Yup”

“Oh, I would ask her”

“Okay, you can, but you should promise me that you will not be angry after that”

“I promise”

“Thanks, Sel”

I smiled a little. Even if I was not so excited about our talk right now, it was in my best interests to have him back. He has been the best brother and I know maybe the bad has surrounded him, but I can bring back the brother I loved.

“Hm-mh”

“Well, then. Do you wanna talk to Alicia?”

“Yeahh”

“Okay, bye Sel”

“Byee”

Again Alicia was on the line. “Hey Alicia”

“Hey Selena”

“So, was he telling the truth? Are you staying willingly?”

“Yep, of course! I love him, Selena!”

I didn’t wanna find this suspicious but it was, but well, I didn’t think over it much. Love can be blind anyway!

“Well, it is good!”

“Yeahh” she replied. She sounded naturally happy when she talked, so I was bound to believe that she wasn’t lying.

“Okay then, we will talk later”

“Yup, oh and yeah, please do come to our wedding… tomorrow. I will come and tell you the details myself”

“Thank you, Alicia”

“Why would you thank me?” I could imagine her rolling her eyes.

“Ah no reason”

We both laughed and then the call ended.

Asher

After the tea, we got up and she looked at me. I was first confused why, but then I realised that I was holding her hand. Oh yeah, I took it when she had completed her tea.

I looked at our hands. “They looked beautiful together” I complimented. She was shocked and tried to take her hand away, like it was THAT easy to do something I don’t wanna.

“What’s the issue?” I asked her and smirked. She sighed.

“I have to go”

“Where?”

“Uhh to keep these utensils”

I smirked more but let her go this time. She took the tea cups to the kettle and kept them near it. Then I went to her.

I hugged her from behind and she froze. I swear I felt her frozen and then I took her hand and held it.

I took her other hand and held it too while my chin was on her shoulder. This was the most comfortable position I had with her and I kinda loved it. I loved the vibe I was getting near her.

“A-Asher?” she spoke and I shushed her. “Shh babe”

She didn’t say anything and I just hugged her.
