"Congratulations, son. The inauguration would take place on Friday." Miller said with a smile. He laughed excitedly as he ended the call and everyone turned to Liam Jordans.
"Thank you for putting your trust in me." He said as she got up and gave a little bow in front of them before picking up his rod.
"You don't care to give us a little explanation or even apologize."
"Thank you.....for waiting for me this long. I have made a lot of mistakes and I have really been out of it for a while, making me go crazy. One thing I can say clearly is that the past have been unmerciful but yet, here we are. Alexa's hands pressed the remote relentlessly as she swapped channels a million times, but it showed the same thing. Liam Jordan's was back. She had no idea he went to Glamour Holdings today and she could not even believe it till she' heard for herself.
She didn't pick her phone, instead she went to the landline and called his number from there instead.
"Liam Jordans speaking." Hus voice resounded in her ears from the CEO's office and she gasped, placing her hand on her mouth.
"Alexa." He called quietly, seeming to know that it was her. Her heart beat fast in her chest crazily.
"Do you want to have dinner with me tonight?" He asked and she blinked.
"What? We live in the same house." She said.
"Yeah, I know that. But I really want to have dinner with you. Outside maybe, just the two of us." He said.
"Are you planning on cheating the kids?" She asked, chuckling lightly and he laughed.
"I guess. Am I not allowed to?" He asked and a tear slipped out of her eyes.
"Liam, you idiot." She muttered, "You scared me. Too much."
"I'll come pick you up."
It was late at night when Alexandra and Liam got into the house.
"Don't push me. I'll like to climb the stairs." He said and she thinned her eyes.
"No, there was a reason the elevator was built." She said.
"I just want to try."
"Just because you could take a few steps doesn't mean you should strain your legs, Liam. Take it one step at a time, please." She said and he sighed, letting her roll him into the elevator. Getting to the next floor, Alexandra pushed him into the room and was about to leave when he suddenly pulled her hand.
"In a month, I'll be able to walk well." He breathed against her skin and she nodded, her hands rubbing his hair fondly.
"Would you go on a walk with me then?" He asked.
"Liam, you should know that I would do anything you want right now." She muttered an he smiled, nodding his head.
"Thank you, Alexandra. Thank you for staying with me. Thank you for being there even when I gave up on myself." He said and her eyes turned glassy.
"You can't give up on yourself. Not when I'm here, Liam. We are a team." She said.
"I love you." He confessed one more time. He hadn't said those words in the past months.
"I love you too." She whispered.
After leaving Liam's room, Alexa walked into the kids room. It was dark, since the lights were off and they were already asleep. She already had a room prepared for Jace Incase they want to separate anytime from now. They were growing and they needed to stay in separate rooms soon.
Her eyes went to the bed and she walked closer, hearing sounds of discomfort. She furrowed her brows, dropping her bag as she immediately went to Jace. The sounds were coming from him.
He was sweating badly even though the lights were on and his body was just so hot. He probably had a fever.
"Jace." She woke him up lightly as she sat on the bed, dragging him to herself.
"Mommy." Jace cleaned his eyes sleepily as he stared at her, his head pressed against her chest.
"Are you alright?" She asked.
"I'm tired." He muttered, "And hungry." He added.
"Come. I'll make something for you quickly." She said and carried him in her hand, quietly leaving the room so Jade wouldn't wake up.
Once downstairs, Alexa was about to prepare a meal when she suddenly saw food in the fridge. It wasn't yet so cold which meant it hadn't been that long since she kids ate.
"You didn't eat dinner?" She asked. Jace shook his head, "I wasn't so hungry."
She nodded and quickly set up a new dish for him, placing it at his front.
"Do you want me to feed you?" She asked and he shook his head. But at the first spoon he swallowed, Jace gagged, running out of the dining.
Alexandra immediately followed him to the nearest guest room as he got into the toilet and emptied his stomach out, all the content spilling out.
"Oh my God." Alexandra rushed towards him, patting his back, "Are you alright?"
"Mommy, my body hurts." He suddenly cried out and her brain disconnected from her head. What was she to do?
"What's going on?" Liam's voice resounded behind her and she turned. He was there again, stressing those legs. But she didn't have time to dwell on that. She easily glanced back at Jace,
"Let's take him to the hospital. He is sick." She said and quickly cleaned him up, taking him out.
