Zana blinked her eyes, turned around and climbed off the sofa, tugging at her clothes. Giselle smiled and touched her head, “Okay… guess you are coming with me then.”
Holding her little hand, she went to the president’s office. Upon seeing this, President Han looked at her questioningly, “This is?”
“Sorry, Mr. Han, this is my friend’s child…” Giselle said in a small voice as she was not sure how President Han was going to take it.
President Han nodded in understanding, then beckoned her to sit down, and said “The branch of Calibre Investment here has basically been completed and will begin operations soon. A representative of their company will come to visit in a while, and you are going to be their point of contact.”
Giselle was startled, so fast? She paused for a moment, and asked nonchalantly, “Do you know who will be their representative that will be visiting us?”
‘Will the boss come in person to visit? Being just a branch company will the boss bother to trouble himself?’
President Han smiled absentmindedly, “It should be just some department Managers, so I will let you take care of it. If it’s the big man, then I will be there to welcome him. It’s no big deal. You can just invite them to eat at noon.”
‘Eat? Isn’t that just socializing? It would be better if there are few people. If there are too many people, then there would be drinking and with Zana beside me, it would not be appropriate!’
“Mr. Han… Look at me…” She looked down at Zana in embarrassment, and then said, “If you could let me know the head count of how many people we are expecting, I will arrange to entertain them accordingly.”
President Han looked at her, then looked at her cute little girl, and nodded after thinking about it, “The big man has not told me anything yet but I am expecting there to be 4 to 5 people. As they will be department managers you can arrange for lunch, bill it on company card and make sure you book the best restaurant.”
“Okay.” Giselle breathed a sigh of relief, and finally asked with a smile “Then when will they arrive?”
President Han turned his head and looked at the direction outside the window and said faintly “They should be coming in at this point. It’s not far as it is the building on the opposite side.”
“…” Giselle stiffened, her mind was a little confused, thinking that she had misheard, she looked at Han blankly, “You… you said they are… where are they now? Opposite?”
She slowly turned her eyes to look at the building opposite the window, her heart sinking hard and heavy ‘Their branch is in the opposite building?’
President Han did not notice her discomfort. He smiled and walked to the window, pointing to the same floor on the opposite side, and said “It’s a coincidence that Calibre Investment branch is on the opposite building, on the same floor, which gives the big man a better look at things here. I have bad vision but he has amazing eyesight!”
Giselle turned her gaze away, her smile turned stiff, her eyes complicated and deep ‘Did Colton do this intentionally or unintentionally? Did he make the phone call last night related to this matter?’
“Well, why don’t you get on with the arrangements.” Han waved to her.
“Ok then, I shall get going.” Giselle restrained her expression and led Zana away from the president’s office.
When she returned to her office, she stood in front of the window, looking at the opposite building with some disappointment.
Suddenly, the curtains of the house facing her office slowly moved upwards. In front of the huge floor – to – ceiling windows, a slender figure was completely exposed to her vision, he stood there like an actor at the center of the stage, which made her feel very uncomfortable.
She regained her senses, blinked fiercely, and after confirming that he was not a phantom, she bit her lip subconsciously. It was now certain to her that the man was doing things deliberately.
Colton stood motionless in the distance, with one hand in the pocket of his suit. His temperament was dignified and calm. He was too far away, and his expression was a bit vague, but the only thing that was certain was that he was also looking at her, and, as if he knew exactly where her office is.
The more Giselle thought about it, the more panicked her heart became. She picked up the phone and called him without hesitation. The line rang for a few seconds, as she could see him, she clearly saw the man taking out the phone from his pocket and putting it next to his ear, his handsome face still facing her direction.
“Hello.” A low, calm voice came over the phone.
“Colton, what do you mean all this?” Giselle’s tone was angry.
“What do you mean?” Colton feigned innocence.
“Don’t act like you don’t know what I am talking about, why did you open a branch here? Is it truly just a coincidence or you just didn’t want to tell me?” Giselle bit out.
Colton frowned when he heard her yelling, but his tone was still calm, “It’s not a coincidence, it was just a wise decision. Thanks to the last time I went to your company, I discovered this place. The location is good, and the environment is good.”
“…” Colton’s words shocked Giselle to silence, gritted her teeth, “Colton, what do you want to do? We are already divorced. Can you stop disturbing my peaceful life?”
After a few seconds of silence, the man laughed in a deep and hoarse voice, “Just because I am your ex-husband, you feel that I have some ulterior motives for what I do. Giselle, are you a narcissist or… having a guilty conscience?”
As he said that last words, he deliberately slowed down, and his husky voice became a little bewildering, causing Giselle’s heartbeat to miss a beat. If Colton was standing next to her, he would definitely be able to see her red face.
Squeezing the phone tightly, she was silent for a while as she grits her teeth, and when her breath calmed down, she said coldly “Since there is no ulterior motive, there is nothing to talk about!”
After speaking her mind she disconnected the call before he could respond, she raised her eyes and glared at the other side, and then left the window.
Colton, who was standing by the opposite window, put down his phone, still looking at her without turning his eyes for a moment, his eyes dimmed a little unfathomably.
There was a knock on his office door. Wanda walked in, “Colton, auntie called, she wants us go back for dinner.”
The man turned his back to her, did not turn around, and said, “Go ahead, I have something to do at noon, tell her, I will go back at night.”
The woman’s face changed slightly, “What’s the matter with you? Do you need me to stay and help?”
“No, you go back first.” Colton refused to turn around and give her the time of the day.
“…” Wanda looked at his back, already guessing something in her heart, and suddenly she felt very uncomfortable ‘Opposite is JS Technologies, does he want to find that woman?’
She tightened her fingers, her eyes flashed with a different color, and without asking any more, she nodded, “Then I will go back.”

Giselle was sitting next to the computer, still thinking about what happened just now, and her mood became a mess. Suddenly she felt that someone was pulling her clothes. She was stunned, and then she looked down. She didn’t realize when Zana ran from the sofa to her, looking at her eagerly as if something was wrong.
“What’s the matter?” Giselle asked softly.
The little girl pursed her mouth and squeezed her brows together, her expression seemed uncomfortable, and then she reached out to take off her pants.
Giselle was stunned for a moment when she saw her behavior, and suddenly her eyes flashed, “Do you want to pee?” She shook her head.
Giselle was a little dazed, then tilted her head and asked tentatively, “Potty?”
The little girl finally nodded her little head blankly. Giselle was amused by her, afraid that she would hold back, she stretched out her hand to hug her, and hurriedly walked towards the bathroom out of the office.
While waiting inside, the staff at the front desk downstairs suddenly called her.
“Manager Smith, the representative of Calibre Investment Company is here.”
