Chapter 64: misunderstanding

Xhani POV

Armani drops me at work and goes off to get his work done for the day.

I get inside my office and start working, I have a lot of work on my plate, and being the manager is never easy. I must get the roster for my staff ready before the end of each month, I also must get everyone's working hours right every week, so I can pay them accordingly.

I sit at my desk and get working, after 3 hours of non-stop work, I get a text message from Armani.

(Hey baby girl, I am unable to concentrate on my work, you are all I think about, missing you <3).

I opened the message and immediately, a smile spread over my face.

(Is that so?) I responded to him, and at once I got his reply.

(Yes, that is so, any doubt?) he texted.

(Well, you know that that is what every guy says at the start until you get bored) I said teasing him.

(Well, why don’t I prove to you that you are the only girl who has occupied my mind and heart?) he texted.

I laugh at his reply and get back to work.

And a couple of minutes later, he texts me again.

(Are you afraid that I will make you fall deeply in love with me?) he teases me back.

(You wish), I said daringly.

(Challenge accepted baby girl, I will make you scream my name like how you did last night), he texted, making me blush at the thought of last night.

(Go work) I replied, not wanting to blush over his text.

(Hehe, I am right, I will make you scream louder tonight) he replied, and I left him on seem. Not want to imagine what else is he capable of doing with that mouth.

After another 3 hours of ongoing work, I get a text from Armani again.

(I will be leaving here in an hour, be ready I have somewhere to take you), he said in his text.

I replied, (Okay I am almost done with all my work as well.)

He disappears again, and I start finishing up work when one of my staff comes inside my office.

“Good afternoon, ma’am, there is a gentleman outside, who wants to speak with you”, she said.

I nodded wondering who it could be. I packed all my stuff and headed downstairs. I got into the waiting room when I saw Zain.

I wanted to turn around and run, but I did not want to cause any scenes at my work, so I put on a brave face and went up to him.

“What do you want Zain?” I asked him as I reached him.

“Please give me 10 minutes of your time, I just want to talk to you please), he begged me.

I sigh and rub my temples, I did want to end this chapter of my life with him, so, I guess I could give him 10 minutes to explain himself.

I nodded and motioned for him to head upstairs inside my office, not wanting my staff to hear us.

We got upstairs and I asked him to take a seat, he sat down, and at once, he started begging me.

“I am so sorry princess, I know I messed up big time, and I am sorry for how I came to your house the other day and tried to scare you”, he said, and I just listened to him.

“I know I did you wrong in the past, and I also know that I have lost my chance to ask for your forgiveness, but please let me try and apologize and show you that I really am sorry Xhani”, he said with great regret in his eyes.

“Why now Zain, it has been over years, so, why come now to make amends?) I asked him with a straight face.

As soon as I asked why, his face turned into a shame. He hung his head down and said, “I went overseas to play soccer for the nation team like Ethan promised, I thought maybe we could both use this time to heal, once I got back, I came straight to you, but I couldn’t get anywhere near you”.

“I have moved on Zain, I have moved past everything that happened between us, the only thing I want from you is to never come to me again”, I said meaning every word.

“I am done being scared of you Zain, you used me, you cheated on me, you lied to me, and you let your friends rape me, I cannot forgive you for those things, but I can try and forget what happen, but for that, you need to stay as far away from me as possible”, I said, as tears build in my eyes from the memories.

After I finished speaking, Zain went on his knees and started sobbing.

Pleading with me, but I think I was past that point, I cannot forget all the pain he caused me.

“Please don’t say that I am here to get punished for all the horrible things I have done, I was stupid and dumb, not realizing what I had in my hands,” he said as he pleaded to me with tears rolling down his cheeks.

A few years ago, I would’ve died for those tears, but today, I do not feel sorry for him, because he has given me way worse than that.

“There is nothing else that I can give you Zain, other than asking you to leave and forget what happened”, I said, as I stood up to leave when he held my hands and pulled me into his lap.

“Zain”, I said as I was forced into his lap. He held me tight; I tried getting free, but he was a lot stronger than me.

“Let go of me Zain”, I ordered him, but to no avail.

Just as I was about to push him off, Armani walked in.

Seeing me sitting on his lap, his eyes turned into a murderous glare, and without hearing me, he walked out of my office. I am sure he thought that we were enjoying ourselves.

I called out for him, but he ignored me and ran downstairs. Leaving me with this monster.

I turned around to Zian, and using all my strength, I managed to push him off.

“You came here to apologize for your past mistakes, and yet you just made another one today”, I said as I ran downstairs. Leaving him angry.

“Nichole. Can you get that man out of my office, and make sure he never steps foot inside this gym again”, I ordered my staff as I ran outside to catch up with Armani.

I walked out, seeing Armani get into his car, I ran up to him, but he just slammed his door on my face and sped off, ignoring all my calls.

Seeing him act like this, made me second-guess everything I thought we had between us.

Feeling disappointed, I got back inside the gym, and I saw Zain coming down while Nicole escorted him.

I looked at him, and he tried to talk to me, but I just walked past him, ignoring him, I went back inside my office, feeling irritated with Armani, so I decided to turn my phone off and take a couple of days off. I packed all my staff and told the staff that I would be away, in the meantime, if they needed anything to contact Ziya.

I got outside to my car, and I decided to text Ziya.

(Hey girl, I will be away for a couple of days, can you look after the gym?) I said and she just replied with a (Okay).
