Chapter 91 RESULT JITTERS

Chapter 91 RESULT JITTERS
Godiva POV

“Congratulations on your success Zhin,” Jerald beamed, handing me the beautiful baby breath bouquet of flowers.

I was so caught up in the moment looking at Jerald in awe and surprise, that I didn’t realize when Dina had already thrown herself on Ben.

I tried using my side eye to get a reaction from the mothers, but it was evident they weren’t focusing on us.

After all the hugs and celebration, Jerald offered to take a picture of the mothers and us. “Please Mama, can you move a bit closer,” Jerald requested, trying to arrange our position for the picture. “Nice, that’s all,” he added almost immediately.

“Why was it so fast?” Dina queried playfully, laughing.

“Don’t mess with a professional,” Jerald teased, showing the mothers our picture.

“Let me take a picture of the four of you,” Mama said out of the blues, taking Ben’s phone which we used earlier from Jerald.

“Woo, thanks,” Jerald exclaimed in surprise, blushing.

“We’re grateful,” Ben added, locking fingers with Dina.

As we arranged for the picture, I silently prayed and hoped Jerald wouldn’t try kissing my lips there, as he was fond of it.

“Did you two get in a fight?” Mama asked in a calm voice suddenly.

“I don’t get it Mama, why would you think we got in a fight?” I retorted, looking at Dina, both of us in shock.

“That’s not even possible,” Dina chipped in, laughing.

“Not you girls, the boys,” Mama corrected, pointing to Jerald’s bruise on his face.

“Uhm, n-no ma,” Ben stuttered.

“We weren’t involved in a fight, it just sort of happened,” Jerald muttered with a sarcastic smile.

“Alright, here we go,” Mama announced, taking the pictures.

“Jerald, do you know how long I’ve waited for you two by the car?” Lis’s annoying voice rang from behind.

“What!” I exclaimed in panic, turning back to her angry face approaching.

“Why did you leave like that?” Lis thundered aggressively, folding her arms, totally ignoring the presence of the mothers.

“Hello to you too,” Mrs Job threw at Lis in her usual sarcastic manner.

“I’m not interested in your greetings,” Lis retorted, glaring at Mrs Job unapologetically.

“I’m sure you know I can ruin your mood for the rest of the day?” Dina bickered at Lis.

“Ignore her amor, she’s not worth it,” Ben muttered, still holding on to Dina tightly.

“Since you lack manners so much, you can now excuse us,” Jerald said arrogantly, locking his arms with me.

“Just in case you are having ideas that they came to this competition for you, you’re really dreaming because news flash, they came here for me, they picked me up and brought me here,” Dina mocked, smiling mischievously.

“They came for you, how come they are not with you then?” I mocked, laughing at her.

After standing for a while without being given any attention, she grumpily left.

“You both need to go with her, so she doesn’t call your father and he believes anything she tells him,” I said, finally letting go of Jerald’s arms.

“She’ll definitely do that regardless, so let her knock herself out,” Ben responded in disgust.

An intense silence followed, I knew Mama had lots of questions, but I silently prayed she didn’t bring any up in front of them.

“Mamas, can we give you all a lift?” Jerald asked Mama and Mrs Job, slightly bowing.

“Thanks for the kind gesture but don’t worry about it,” Mrs Job replied.

“Yes, don’t worry,” Mama chipped in. “Mr Job is almost here to pick us up.”

“How about I see you off to the car park?” I asked Jerald as we walked away.

“Nah, that’s too far,” Jerald replied with a smile.

“That reminds me, when did you say the result would be ready?” Ben asked us.

“Probably later this evening,” I responded, looking downcast.

“Why the facial expression?” Jerald asked, laughing lightly.

“That’s because I’m anxious all of a sudden,” I replied, forcing a smile.

“You two need to stop here,” Jerald announced, stopping after only a few steps.

Hugging them, we parted ways.

On our way home, we couldn’t get the slightest peace, Mama and Mrs Job bombarded us with questions about their bruise and also about Lis, questions like: how did they get the bruise, did you feel as though they were hiding something, are you sure there’s nothing going on with Jerald and that girl, who are her parents, and so many more bizarre questions.

We got home thirty minutes past two, thankfully Mr Job surprised us with lunch, he prepared lunch while we were away.

“Dad, does that mean you weren’t at work today?” Dina asked, looking touched.

“Yes, let this be an off day for the both of us,” Mr Job replied, laughing.

We had the lunch which was steak, rice, mashed potatoes, mango smoothie, berries and lots more.

After lunch, Dina and I fell asleep lying in opposite directions on Dina’s bed.

We were woken up by a call, our both phones rang simultaneously.

We locked eyes with each other when we saw the callers were Jerald and Ben.

“Could this be another surprise?” Dina asked optimistically, smiling as she placed the phone on her ear.

“Hello Bling,” I said, picking the call.

“Zhin baby...” Jerald started rapidly before I cut him short.

“I’ve been meaning to ask you, what’s with the Zhin? Thought you said it was Zhino?” I teased, laughing.

“Yes, it was supposed to be Zhino, but Zhin just sounds better,” he replied, laughing.

“What!” Dina exclaimed from her side of the bed.

“For real!” I chorused almost at the same time with her.

“How did you know results are already out?” I asked Jerald in disbelief over the call.

“I know it’s ready because Lis just checked hers,” Jerald responded seriously.

“And what, did she pass?” Dina asked Ben anxiously over the phone.
