Chapter 86 GLAM OUTING

Chapter 86 GLAM OUTING
Godiva POV

Mama, Mrs Job, Dina and I went to a popular salon downtown where we were given a proper hair perm, manicure, pedicure, and beautiful nail treatment.

Dina and I painted our natural nails nude with a red rose design, while the mothers chose an ash-themed nail set.

“Mama, are you both sure you didn’t use us as an excuse to give yourselves baby girl treatment?” I asked Mama and Mrs Job when they got the same treatment as us.

“Are we working for our money just for you to spend it?” Mrs Job retorted, laughing as we left the salon for the mall in the big city.

“So girls, you two have the luxury of picking two decent outfits each from the boutique,” Mama announced, sounding serious.

“Yesss!” Dina cheered, dancing in a bizarre manner.

“And don’t pick anything too expensive,” Mrs Job warned.

Dina and I began trying on different fits from trousers down to gowns, sneakers, skirts, heels, caps, et cetera.

“What two outfits do we pick?” Dina asked me, indecisive.

“On second thoughts, how are we to know what outfit will go with the date planned?” I asked, nodding from left to right.

“Don’t tell me you girls don’t know the kind of date you’re going on?” Mama asked in disbelief.

“Yep, we have no idea,” Dina whispered, scratching her hair.

“Let me call Jerald and find out,” I said, taking a step away from them.

“Hey Bling,” I said after he picked the call.

“Hey Zhin, hope my baby is doing okay?” Jerald asked from the phone.

“Yes,” I responded hurriedly, then continued, “Babe, I wanted to ask what kind of date we are going on. It will help direct us on our choice of outfit so we don’t dress out of context.”

“Say I love you king of my heart,” Jerald teased on the call.

“You can’t even be serious,” I thundered in whispers.

“Why are you whispering?” he asked, laughing.

“That’s because Mama is staring at me,” I whispered, looking at Mama’s terrifying gaze.

“You should have said that earlier,” Jerald muttered, suddenly sounding terrified. “Something casual will do, we are going to a fun place.”

“Thanks Bling, I love you,” I whispered, smiling at Mama who was glaring at me.

“Love you too baby,” he responded before dropping the call.

“He said we are going somewhere fun, so casual outfits will do,” I said to Dina and the mothers who were already looking at me eagerly.

“I guess you can get a casual outfit, and maybe a gown as your serious pick in case of a next time,” Mrs Job said, pointing at the outfits we had selected.

I picked out a pair of baggy faded jeans, a black crop top, a cute side bag, a cap, an all stars sneaker, a flowing black bodycon off-shoulder dinner gown, and a pair of silver Zara heels.

Dina, on the other hand, picked out a pair of baggy dark crazy jeans, a peach crop top, a Vans sneaker, a cute side bag, same flowing dinner gown but in blue, and a pair of gold Zara heels.

“Thank you, Mama,” I said, hugging Mama almost tearing up.

“Thank you, Mum,” Dina said to Mrs Job, hugging her and tearing up too.

“If you didn’t buy us these clothes, I’d have probably worn my favorite Jordan sneakers,” I said laughing.

“And your favorite black jean,” Dina chipped in, laughing.

We could not stop laughing as we walked back home discussing how we would have worn our only reasonable outfits for the date.

“Do you think I should send a video of my nails to Ben?” Dina asked eagerly as we sat on her bed.

“Hell no girl, let our appearance make them speechless,” I responded, laughing.

Early the next morning, I was woken up by Jerald’s call.

“We’d be coming to pick you both by 2:00 p.m. in front of your apartment,” Jerald announced, dropping the call without greeting or any goodbye.

“Did you get a call from Ben?” I asked, swinging Dina’s door open.

“Good morning to you too,” Dina said sarcastically, still lying on her bed.

“Whatever, did you get the call?” I repeated, sitting beside Dina.

“Nope,” she replied coldly.

“Well, they said our date is for 2:00 p.m. and they’d be picking us up from the block,” I said with a sigh.

“That’s great news, why then do you look downcast?” Dina asked, looking me in the eye.

“I don’t know, it’s just... it’s just because Jerald called without exchanging pleasantries. He passed the message across coldly and ended the call,” I responded, still downcast.

“Don’t think much about it, I’m sure he had something he was caught up in,” Dina replied, trying to make me feel better.

“Anyways, in a matter of hours we’ll know what is wrong,” I said, taking a deep breath and laying beside Dina.

“Since the date is scheduled for two, we have enough time to study a little,” Dina suggested, raising a brow at me.

“That’s better, it will help us kill time,” I seconded, sitting upright.

We did our best trying to study but could not focus. As time went by, our anxiety grew more and more.

“Finally,” I exclaimed, standing up from Dina’s bed. “We’re just an hour away, I need to go get dressed,” I continued, putting on my flip-flops.

“How about we both get dressed at your place?” Dina suggested, equally getting off the bed.

I assisted her in packing her cosmetics, outfits, and all she needed to get dressed at my place.

Dina and I took our time in the bathroom as if we wanted changing our skin. We dressed in less than twenty minutes since we did not need to kill time applying any makeup. Dina and I wore our jean, top, and sneakers outfit we bought from the mall the previous night.

“Girl, they are here already!” Dina screamed enthusiastically, peeping through the balcony window.

“Last minute check,” I said, standing in front of the mirror admiring my hair and appearance.

“Hurry girl,” Dina urged anxiously, waiting for me at the door.

“Oh mine pretty,” Ben said, looking stunned at Dina’s appearance as he carefully approached her counting his steps.

“Where’s Jerald?” I asked Ben in shock, looking toward the direction of the car to catch a glimpse of him.
