CHAPTER 36
"Give us back our mommy."
I turned to my back and saw Zam. She was hugging a little stuff teddy bear in her arms. Her nose wrinkled, her eyes were glaring and her heart shaped lips are slightly thinned, indicating that she was pissed and annoyed.
"Mommy, I want a hug because I cried, remember?" She pouted then and walk towards me. Zion and Aldrich were still holding my hands but when this little kid arrived in front of me. She was the one to pull there grips off me. "Mommy, hug." She then raised both of her tiny arms, asking to be lift so I did it.
Whenever one of them cries, I always comfort them through hugs and kisses and I'm happy that they're used to it. I want them to need me too even when they're already at the right age. That's what every parents dream for their kids.
"Are you alright, baby? Are you hurt?" I entered our small house and left them outside.
Ziex and Zaile were already in front of the television, watching kids show. I just noticed that the three of them already changed from their uniforms so I sat beside them on the floor, Zam sits on my lap and the four of us watches together.
Some minutes later, I expected that Zion and Aldrich already went back to where they're supposed to be so I was surprised when I saw them entering our house too.
Both of them are quiet and unlike earlier, the tension between them lessen as if they have talked about something before coming in.
I'm not the only one confused at their presence because when I check the triplets, they were also looking to who I was watching. Confusion was drawn on their brownish eyes so when Ziex met my sight, her eyes squinted at me, making me gulp with guilt.
"Mommy, what are they doing here? They should go out." A sob immediately left Zam's lips as she buried her face on my chest so she can cry even louder.
My eyes that was stuck at the two men, who were currently sitting at the small couch, saw how their eyes startled when Zam started crying and waggling her legs, throwing tantrums.
It may not be good, but I'm already used to this side of her. She usually throw tantrums and would be angry at everything whenever she's being embarrassed, just like what happened at the guidance office earlier. She tends to do it so she can take everyone's attention to comfort her.
"Mommy, make them leave!" She screamed, but not enough to call it a scream because she has a weak voice.
I soothed her and tap her in the back, slightly kissing her temple, causing her to relax a bit and hugged me on my waist tightly. She continued crying on my chest that I can already feel her tears on my skin.
"Shit," I heard Zion cursed so when I look at him, he was already standing, taking his phone out of his pocket, his car keys, and wallet but don't know what to do. "Uh... Do you want some toys? Do you want to eat something?" He asked directly to Zam and that made the triplets look at him.
I raised my brow, asking what he wanted to do or show so I can prevent him from chaos he might make. I don't want to have an argument with his wife nor break their family, so if he can't take responsibilities then at least he shouldn't give false hope to my kids.
"You're going to buy me barbie?" Zam wiped her own tears, her lips pouted as it's side are still tugged downward. "Please..." She made a cute gesture and that made me smile inwardly.
She looks so adorable.
"Y-Yeah, I'll buy you whatever you want." Zion stuttered, also not sure of what he was saying as he's out of his usual self. "What do you want?"
Zam was the one being asked but Ziex was the first one to stand, followed by Zam and that's when Zaile stood up too to come near Zion. The three hurdled around Zion, each was saying what they wanted.
"I want a car! A pretty and cool car!" Said Ziex with the most expressive words. He even showed how cool he wants the car to be.
"Me!! I want a lot of barbie too! And dress! And bags! And a glass shoes like Cinderella!" She was almost squealing as she pulled the hem of Zion's shirt, nearly ripping it if she continues doing that.
"I want to go to the museum! I also want to buy books and coloring books!" While Zaile was respectfully raising his hands to take Zion's attention.
The latter didn't know whom to listen first but when I saw the smile spreading on his thin lips, something sparked through me that made me a bit emotional. I wonder what will the triplets reaction would be if they find out that he's their father?
I don't want them to get hurt.
"Hey, babies." I called out to them, "Mommy's friend might be tired already. Why don't we eat lunch first, okay?" I should've said that Zion needs to go home but it didn't came out on my lips as if it's having the mind of it's own and doesn't want to tell him to leave.
"Okay, mommy." Zam was suddenly in a good mood and basically run going to the kitchen. The boys trailed on her back, leaving me with Zion, who was slightly smiling, and Aldrich who was staring at me with a blank expression.
This was the first time I saw him looking at me like that and it made me feel bad. He might have notice how I reacted so he offered a nice and friendly smile before approaching me.
"I need to go to work, are you sire I can leave you here alright?" He asked for assurance and my eyes immediately landed on Zion. Unlike earlier, he was back with a dark and dim expression but I throw the thought out and turn my sight back to Aldrich.
"We'll be fine, don't worry. I'll call you if ever we need help." I give him a pat on his shoulder and watch him left our house.
As Aldrich disappear from my sight, I can make myself look at that one corner where I have been feeling tje eerie and dangerous stares of someone. If only I can runaway from him with our kids then I'll do it in a second.
But he's already here.
I huff out a loud sigh and I almost shriek when a wide and broad chest almost bump on my face. I wass too preoccupied that I didn't felt nor notice Zion's movement.
Now that he's already in front of me, our bodies are inches away from each other and the only thing I could think of was the changes of his body. His body was more masculine, ripped and gorgeous. No imperfections and as handsome as he was when I last saw him.
No words were uttered, I was expecting him to lash out on me and throw me some hurtful words but none. He just look at me for the whole minute as if he have no intention of stopping if only Zam didn't come out from the kitchen.
"Mommy, what's taking you too long? We're already hungry." Her whole face was crumpled, her lips was puckering and her brows almost meeting each other. "Mister, are you going to buy us food? Yummy foods?" She smiled sweetly, making me shook my head.
I went to her side and carry her in my arms. "No, mister is not going to buy us some foods. We have foods her, Zam." I stated. We may not afford those foods of rich people but I make sure to feed them something delicious and healthy.
Zam pouted at what I said, her eyes were still intact with Zion but her arms are clinging on my neck. "But mommy, we always have vegetables, fish, eggs, can't we have something more so so delicious?"
My eyes went tender, I was lost with words by the sudden realization. I thought everything was enough for them. My sight was met by Zion and I can't understand the emotions that pass by his eyes.
"Wait here, I'll buy us some food." He said those words without breaking eye contact with me.
"Us?" I can't help but to raise my brow. Don't tell me he's going to eat here with us?
"Yes, where do you think I'll eat?" There wasn't any hint of sarcasm, he was chill and relax while taking off his suit before putting it at the couch.
With your family.
I wanted to voice that out but I chose to turn my back so Zam and I can go back to the kitchen, leaving him alone in the living area until I heard his car starting from the outside.
Ziex and Zaile was just quietly sitting, the plates were all organized on the table, there is water, utensils and glasses we can use to drink. The food was the only thing missing so I prepared the foods I cooked for them.
"Mommy, let's wait for mister, please?" Zam stopped my hand when I was about to put some rice on her plate.
I let out another sigh and just nod, I'm losing my energy just by Zion's presence. How is it more if we talked about what happened or if he said something that would perfectly wreck me.
We waited and have a little talk, I thought it would take us half of hour of waiting for Zion but I was wrong. Fifteen minutes, it was too fast yet his sweats were too visible and obvious.
"Did you run?" I innocently asked but he only smiled and shake his head.
He handed me the food and my eyes widened when I saw the food he bought. It feels like my whole body burned with blush when I saw a steak. It's his favorite and he has a reason why.
I press my eyes close, trying to forget that time when Zion and I was doing something nasty. He was curious how a steak would taste with my juices so he... ate the steak while licking my sensitiveness.
I absentmindedly slapped my face, I was so red that I have to calm my body down or I'll end up being torn with his body's heat and my responsibility to keep my kids safe.
I place the food on the table, the triplets were talking with Zion, telling him what everyone wanted so he can buy it for them.
"Are you really going to buy us?" Ziex was too blunt for his age, I don't want Zion thinking that I didn't raise them with proper manner. "Are you rich? Do you have a lot of money like our dad?"
My body stilled and my eyes widened. Even if I was the only one who brought them out alone, I would sometimes talk about their father. That he needs to work so he can give us money for their school and food. But everytime they asked me when can they see their father, I always leave them without an answer.
"What do you know about dad, kiddo?" Zion let out a fit of laughter before playfully ruffling Ziex's hair.
"Mommy said that daddy is working to buy us food, and car, and good clothes that will make me handsome." The little boy answered with full of confident.
I sat beside Zion because it was the only available seat and I almost jolted when I felt his hand on my thigh. I abruptly look at him but he was too focused chatting with the triplets. I thought it was an accident so when I try to push it aside secretly, he stopped talking and look at me with a warning, then I felt him gripping my thigh but not too hard to hurt me.
Actually, it was... hot.
We started eating like it was the most normal thing to do. I would often watch the triplets reaction as I wait for them to ask what Zion was doing here like they always do when Aldrich would come by.
They are much behave now compared when I have some other visitors. Ziex and Zam are not shouting with each other and Zaile was talking too much with Zion. He keeps on asking him about a lot of things that Zion happily answers.
I didn't know that I was smiling widely when I heard them giggles as they're talking about something. This was the family I dreamed of for my kids.
But I know this wouldn't last long, because no matter how Zion wants to stay here, he needs to go home with his family and...
Leave us.
