CHAPTER 33

It was approaching the end of the third month. Iliana’s escape plan had almost hatched. Rajesh’s plans drew nearer as well. Alexander’s plan to contain the hidden power had its own course. The Shadow pack had their own plans of reaching Iliana and retrieving her by force. All was only a matter of time and relentless efforts.

Iliana sought to talk to Alexander about her decision to leave with the excuse of going to see her friend who left earlier. However, there was more information she wanted from Rajesh to satisfy her curiosity. Information such as: The story of Don. More information about this hidden power. His ultimate plan. These were more reasons for Iliana to stay but the longer she stays the more pressured she felt and the quicker they would find a new hybrid werewolf in place of Pedro.

Pedro’s death was truly a miracle as Iliana thought. Perhaps Pedro was the one that attacked Stuart and Samuel. It bothered Iliana why she couldn’t leave in the day time. She talked to Hubert about it once and he told her to get permission from the higher-ups. Obviously, the higher-ups in the town are Rajesh, Catherine, Jacqueline and the Robinsons. It served as a problem to leave by day—the night was best. She was prepared to leave behind everything she had unintentionally formed for the glory of her own pack but the risks. She couldn’t decide if she wanted to stay and keep playing mate or abscond and be hunted down by David with his gifts of having one act against their wishes or Erik with his gifts of having one talk against their wishes or even Alexander with his gifts unknown to Iliana. She never once thought she needed to know but suddenly she wants to know. If David’s silver eyes makes one act and Erik’s golden eyes makes one speak, then maybe Alexander’s eyes possessed both abilities? There were many thoughts concerning it.

There was one person Iliana still could not remember. She felt they may have spoken before and probably touched each other but the person seemed to escape her mind. Will she escape without the memory of that person? The person’s words may have been helpful to her, she thought, but she still could not remember who it was. As always, she let the thought go as she prepared to set her top priority in action. First, she needed to find out a few more information before she executes her plan.

In the cabin…

“We have received news that the Shadow pack, are preparing to come for us. I take it that those spies we eliminated are of the shadow pack. How pitiful.” Rajesh said.

“What will we do if they come, Rajesh?” Catheter asked.

“I want to heat from Alexander. After all, he makes the decision here.” Rajesh pointed at Alexander. “Well?”

“We will do nothing if they come. They are retaliating for reasons they do not know. If we fight them, it’ll be a meaningless bout. Our enemies do not know why they fight unless inform was leaked to them.” Alexander stated.

“Which is why we have to find this last spy.” Rajesh implied.

“There is no spy in this town. I am sure of it. If the Shadow pack comes without knowledge of their fallen comrades then they will leave the same way they came.”

“Or maybe—” David entered. “Maybe it’ll be a chance for us to strike down the Shadow pack.”

“I strongly agree with David.” Rajesh supported David’s opinion. “However, time for us to attack is not close yet, so I’ll agree with Alexander.”

Jacqueline stood from where she sat. “Yes. Now that the spies are gone, we can focus on controlling this power.” She said. “At least, we don’t have our hands full yet. Rajesh, what about our other spies in other packs; any word?”

“Nothing important yet but they will remain there for a while, however, our spy in the Shadow pack is soon to return. She has one last job to do.”

Iliana rose her brows. “She?”

“Rachel.” Rajesh caught her attention. “What do you think of our plan?”

Iliana only had opinions to defend the Shadow pack but saying it; very risky. “Alexander’s plan is well enough. Showing them that we have no intentions of fighting them…yet. Nevertheless, what bothers me is what we’ll tell them if the ask for their comrades. Will we present decaying bodies of them? Perhaps, we should tell them that their comrades were captured and thrown into a cell all beaten and bruised?” Iliana couldn’t wait any longer to escape before the Shadow pack comes to the Silver Creek. If they do, they’ll only be falling into their trap. She gradually found reasons to contact the Shadow pack

“I believe…” Rajesh walked to the counter. “…Alexander will take care of that part. Won’t you, Alexander?”

“First, let them come.” Alexander said.

“Okay then. My next plan after our spy is done with what she had to do, depends on how quick we can retrieve this power. We won’t begin our attack with the Shadow pack. We’ll start from the least– the Oakwood pack. Sophia…”

“Yes, sir.”

“By the next blood moon, prepare letters to every pack. We’ll give them options. Either they join us, or enjoy merciless demise. For now, we wait for our beloved one to do what needs to be done.”

Iliana’s curiosity was at it’s peak. She wanted to know who this spy is and what their goal was. Maybe it could be prevented. She was also curious to know what Rajesh meant by ‘Alexander will take care of it.’ How? She wondered. With his gifts, maybe.

“We, the Silver Creek, can not be put to shame. We will torment any one who comes our way…” As Rajesh spoke Erik kept glancing at Iliana. Iliana did the same without knowing why he was doing it. It almost felt uncomfortable to Iliana but she was used to the prying eyes of people in town. There were too many things about the town and its people Iliana wanted knowledge about but her escape plan may not permit it. “…We will win. Should our spy fail to carry out this task…she won’t.”

“What is this ‘task’?” Iliana asked as she saw she may not have any other chance to ask again.

Rajesh laughed. “The Shadow pack…will soon be void of an alpha.”
