CHAPTER 22:

LIAM

I can’t stop myself from pitying Sofie and at the same time getting mad at her while Fatima’s mother was hitting her. I cant accept that she just takes all of it until Fatima’s mother got tired of hitting her.

We were already at Sofie’s house and I’m just looking at her sitting on the couch.

“ Young Lady drink some water,” said Mr. Ronald

“ thankyou “ she tried drinking it but her hands were shaking that’s why she couldn’t drink properly. I approach her and take the glass of water and slowly let her drink it.

“ thankyou” I put it down and look at her.

“ that’s not the Sofie I knew, what happened to you “ I can’t stop thinking about what is happening to her.

“ I am still Sofie Liam, I didn’t change. Between the two of us, you are the one who change” she stood up and went to her room, I’ll her rest for a while.

I went outside and sit while thinking about what happened. If I let her go that time then she was able to talk to his father before it died. Oh Shit! What did I do, what is happening to me?

“ Young Master here’s your coffee” I look at Mr. Ronald

“ Mr. Ronald you were with Sofie for three years, what happened at that time,” I ask. He look at me and I saw sadness in his eyes.

“ Many things happened Young Master,” he said.

“ take a sit and tell me what happened,” I said, he sited beside me

“ since Young Lady So fie went out to the hospital, she ask me to investigate what happened. It took a month before they were able to know who did the bombing. It’s Tahlia and Theo” I was surprised, how can they do that?

“ she put them in jail and filed many cases against them, She went to see them ask why did they do it and their reason was, it’s because of properties she inherited. She should not have any of it because she is not a Montequinto”

“ But why is Uncle Theo involved?” I ask

“ because Thalia was put into prison and it’s because of the poison. She said Sofie was the one who ask Thalia to put it in the soup” I can’t believe what I’m hearing.

“ Thalia was able to blame Sofie. Theo believed her because she love her so much. They planned to bring Montequinto down” he explained. So it is Uncle Theo and Thalia’s fault.

“ Young Lady blamed herself that time. She told herself that she is the reason why Fatima and her brother died. She cried and drink every day. Even though the persons behind it were jailed already, she still blames herself” I never thought she also blamed herself.

“ when she knew that you were coming home, she felt happy. That was the only time I saw her happy. She was excited to see you and I expected that she will be happier because of you but when you arrived at the airport, I saw you, and expectations were gone”.

“ you came back but it wasn’t Liam we knew. Before you hug me a lot when you see me, your smile was always so big, you even play with me but now it’s already gone. So Young Lady Sofie felt sad after he saw you because we can see that the Liam we knew was not there anymore” I feel ashamed

“ Young Master, would you think Young Master Lucas will be happy for who are you right now? He would not because he will stop you from what you are doing right now. Young Master, don’t hide from the shadow of the past”

“ Are you not tired of hiding yourself? After Sofie came to your house, you were already hiding. Now that you were here and she already saw your face, you were still hiding. You hide the real Liam. When do you plan to come out? When it’s already too late and Young Lady is not with you anymore?”

“ Young Master, Young Lady needs you right now, remember that she is already your wife and she is not just anybody. Bring back what you really, do not wait for me to punch your face for what you are doing” I laughed at what he said. So he’s gonna punch my face.

I can’t believe that it’s Mr. Ronald who will wake me up and bring back who I was. Maybe he’s right, 3 years is enough for me to let go of it. Tomorrow I will show them the real Liam but can I do that now that Sofie already forgets who I was.

“ Young Master I know you can do it” I look at Mr. Ronald, he knows what I m thinking.

“ thank you, Mr. Ronald” I smiled

“ I will not accept that until you bring back the Young Lady’s smile,” He said that.
