Chapter 57 Emotional Outburst
Olivia stood on the crowded street, letting out a tired sigh. No matter what, she couldn't hope to stop her treatment. She had to get those memories back. "Alright, I'll be right there."
Soon, Olivia arrived at the hospital.
Jason was waiting for her. As soon as she walked in, he frowned, noticing a red, swollen mark on her neck.
"What happened to your neck?" Jason immediately set the medical chart down and walked over. "What's going on?"
"It's nothing. Just a small argument with someone at the office," Olivia said, not wanting to talk about it. She quickly changed the subject. "Can we start the treatment now?"
Jason felt sorry for her trying to act tough and shook his head. "No, you're not in a stable condition right now. It's not suitable for nebulization therapy. Forcing it could make things worse and might even trigger a stress reaction."
He paused for a moment and suggested, "How about we take a walk outside? The hospital garden is really peaceful. Getting some fresh air might help you calm down."
Olivia stayed quiet for a couple of seconds before nodding in agreement.
The two of them headed downstairs.
As soon as they reached the lobby on the ground floor, two nurses approached from a distance.
They were chatting as they walked, their voices loud enough for Olivia to hear clearly:
"Did you see that? Just now, Luca Vettel rushed in carrying a woman."
"I saw it. That woman seemed to have hurt her head. There was a lot of blood. Luca was holding her and shouting for a doctor. I've never seen him so worried before."
"Yeah, who is that woman? Could she be his wife? She's pretty, but she doesn't look like the one I saw in the finance magazine before."
"Judging by how nervous he was, their relationship must be special. She's probably his wife."
The nurses kept gossiping as they passed by Jason and Olivia, their voices fading into the distance.
Olivia's face turned pale, her eyes filled with deep sarcasm.
Jason stopped walking. He felt both heartbroken and angry, realizing why she was so down. "Olivia, you..."
"I'm fine," Olivia cut him off quickly, forcing a smile. "Anyway, I'm about to divorce him. Don't worry about me."
She tried to sound like she didn't care, but Jason could tell she was still hurting inside.
He didn't say anything more, just patted her arm. "Come on, I'll take you somewhere."
Jason led Olivia to the deepest part of the garden.
There, a large patch of tulips bloomed, with a few patients scattered around, taking a walk.
The scenery was beautiful and comforting.
"Have a seat," Jason said, patting the bench next to him and motioning for Olivia to sit down. He nodded toward an elderly person strolling in the distance. "You need to stop obsessing over Luca. Don't let people or things that hurt you take up so much space in your mind. Look around you—just take in life for a minute. Put yourself first for once. Take care of yourself."
Olivia listened quietly to his words, breathing in the faint scent of flowers in the air. Her tense body started to relax.
For the past few years, it seemed like all her emotions revolved around Luca.
She felt hurt by his coldness and heartbroken when he cared about Windy.
Olivia had almost forgotten that even without Luca in her world, she could still have peace and happiness.
"Thank you, Jason," Olivia said with a genuine smile. "Your words really help me."
Jason smiled back and stood up, reaching out his hand to her. "Come on, let's take a walk. There are so many good things in life worth discovering."
Olivia didn't hesitate this time. She placed her hand in his and stood up with his help, finally feeling a bit better.
They walked for a long time. By the time they left the garden, Olivia's mood had improved a lot.
Noticing she hadn't driven today, Jason offered to take her home.
Jason dropped Olivia off at the entrance of her villa. "Get some rest. I'll arrange another time for your treatment. If anything bothers you in the next few days, just call me anytime."
"Okay, thanks," Olivia said, giving Jason a heartfelt smile.
She watched his car drive away before turning to go inside.
As soon as Olivia stepped into the living room, she saw the last person she wanted to face.
Luca was sitting on the sofa, looking like he'd been waiting for a while.
When he saw Olivia return, he frowned, stood up, and strode over to her.
"Did Jason drop you off? Were you with him all afternoon?" His tone was filled with anger.
Olivia put down her bag, feeling exhausted. "Luca, you have no right to question me like this."
Luca went quiet for a couple of seconds before softening his tone. "Don't worry about the stair incident. I'll handle it. I'll tell everyone that Windy fell by herself. It won't involve you."
Olivia suddenly looked up. "What did you say?"
"I'm saying don't worry. No one will think you pushed her," Luca replied patiently, his tone full of protection. "I won't let people talk nonsense."
That afternoon, news of Windy's injury had spread at the office, and everyone was saying Olivia had pushed her. Luca had instructed his assistant to shut down the gossip and make sure no one spread rumors, all to protect Olivia.
He thought Olivia would feel relieved or touched by his actions, but instead, her expression darkened even more.
Olivia looked at him as if he were a stranger. "You believe I pushed her?"
A wave of anger and disappointment surged through her.
Luca didn't know why, but he felt a chill from Olivia's gaze. It made him uneasy for some reason.
"The situation was chaotic. I know you didn't mean to. It was an accident. I believe you," Luca said seriously.
"Believe me..." Olivia suddenly let out a cold laugh.
She had been holding back all her emotions, but at this moment, she couldn't contain them anymore.
"Luca," Olivia's body trembled slightly. "You didn't even ask me what happened. You didn't think about how I might feel hurt or scared after being attacked. Someone said I pushed Windy, and you just believed it. Is that how you see me?"
"No, I..." Luca tried to explain, but Olivia couldn't hold back any longer. With all her strength, she slapped him hard across the face.
Slap!
The sharp sound echoed through the living room.
The maids nearby froze in shock.
Luca's head turned to the side from the force of the slap, a red handprint quickly appearing on his cheek. He stood there, completely stunned, never expecting Olivia to do this.
Olivia's palm stung, and her heart felt ice-cold. She pointed at the door. "Get out. Get out of here right now!"
Luca's face darkened as he stared at Olivia, his chest heaving heavily, looking like he was about to explode.
But in the end, he said nothing. He gave Olivia a deep, lingering look before turning and leaving the villa.
Bang!
The door slammed shut behind him.
The living room fell completely silent. The maids exchanged glances and quietly left, leaving Olivia alone.
Olivia collapsed onto the sofa, her hand aching, her scalp hurting, and even the scratched part of her neck throbbing from the earlier chaos.
But none of that pain compared to the hurt Luca had caused her.
Olivia took deep breaths, trying to calm herself, but tears still streamed down her face.
Divorce.
Right now, all she could think about was divorce. She wanted to end everything and be done with Luca for good.
