Chapter 243 Awareness
Chapter 243 Awareness
Julian had the waiter pour Olivia a glass of red wine, then he spoke up: "Olivia, to be honest, I underestimated you before. I thought you were just a woman relying on her husband, but you're really capable. Not only did you tame my wild horse, but you also stabilized the Vettel Group in such a short time. I'm impressed."
"You're too kind, Mr. James," Olivia smiled. "I just did what I had to do. For my husband and the group, I had to give it my all."
Next, they started talking about the cooperation. Julian didn't make things difficult for her anymore and got serious. They chatted smoothly. During the talk, Julian suddenly got a phone call. His face turned ugly, and after hanging up, he looked really annoyed.
Olivia noticed he had something on his mind and asked, "Mr. James, do you have some worries? If you don't mind, you can tell me. Maybe I can help."
Julian hesitated, then said, "It's nothing really. It's my daughter—she's been sick lately and staying in the hospital. The doctors say it's bad. I've found many experts, but none can help. I'm really worried."
Olivia's heart stirred. She said, "Mr. James, don't worry. I know a great pediatric expert who's cured many tough cases. He might be able to help your daughter. I can contact him for you and have him check her."
Julian's eyes lit up. He grabbed Olivia's hand and said eagerly, "Really? Olivia, you can really get me in touch with this expert? If you can cure my daughter, I'll agree to any condition. We'll sign this cooperation deal right now, and I'll give the Vettel Group even more perks."
"Don't get too excited," Olivia smiled. "I'll do my best to help, but I can't promise he'll cure her. I'll have the expert try his hardest. I'll call him now and get him to the hospital to see your daughter as soon as possible."
Olivia took out her phone and immediately called the pediatric expert she knew. She explained the situation, and he agreed to head to the hospital right away.
After hanging up, Olivia told Julian, "The expert is on his way. He'll be at the hospital soon. Don't worry too much. I believe he can help."
Julian said gratefully, "Thank you, Olivia. Thank you so much. You didn't hold my rudeness against me and even offered to help. I'm so thankful. No matter what happens with my daughter, we'll sign the deal. I'll cooperate well with the Vettel Group."
"No need to thank me, Mr. James," Olivia smiled. "Helping each other is what we do. Let's keep talking about the cooperation details and try to sign soon so the project can start early."
They continued discussing the details. Because of Julian's gratitude, everything went smoothly with almost no disagreements.
That afternoon, they signed the cooperation agreement. Julian even gave the Vettel Group lots of perks, better than expected.
After signing, Julian shook Olivia's hand and said, "Olivia, we're partners now. If you need anything, just tell me. I'll help however I can. And please keep an eye on my daughter's situation."
"Don't worry, I will," Olivia nodded. "Good luck. I hope your daughter recovers soon."
Leaving the equestrian club, the assistant said excitedly, "Madam, you're amazing! You really won over Julian and signed the deal. Those people who didn't respect you before have nothing now to say now!"
Olivia smiled, but she felt no relief inside. Instead, she was exhausted all over. The pressure and tiredness from the past few days hit her all at once. She leaned back in the car seat, closed her eyes, and said softly, "Finally done. Now the group should be fully stable."
"Yes, Madam," the assistant said. "You've worked so hard. Why don't you go back to the hotel and rest? I'll take the agreement to the company and handle the follow-up."
Olivia shook her head. "No, I'll go to the hospital first to see Luca. I want to be with him and tell him about this."
The car soon reached the hospital. Olivia walked into the room. Leo was asleep, and Emma was sitting nearby. Seeing Olivia, Emma stood up quickly. "You're back! How did it go? Did the cooperation work out?"
Olivia nodded with a small smile. "It did. We signed the agreement and got lots of perks. The group is fully stable now."
"Great!" Emma said happily. "I knew you could do it. You're incredible. You must be worn out. Sit down and rest."
Olivia sat by the bed and held Luca's hand. It was still warm, and the monitor beeped steadily. She whispered to him, "Luca, good news—I sealed the deal with J Group. The agreement is signed, the group's stable, and those who doubted me are silent now. Wake up soon, okay? I'm really struggling. These days have been so tiring. I miss you by my side, helping me carry this. Leo and I are waiting for you. When you wake, our family of three will never be apart again."
Tears fell as she spoke. All her grievances and exhaustion poured out. She rested her head by the bed, gripping his hand tightly, her voice choking. "Luca, wake up, please? I can't go on without you. Leo can't either."
Just then, Olivia felt Luca's fingers twitch slightly. She jolted and looked up at his face. His eyelids fluttered a bit—faint, but she saw it clearly.
"Luca! Luca! Are you waking up?" Olivia cried out, her voice shaking. "Did you hear me? Wake up! Leo and I are waiting!"
Emma leaned in excitedly. "Did he really move? Let me see!"
But Luca's eyelids just moved once, then nothing. The monitor kept beeping steadily. The doctor came in at the noise, checked him, and smiled. "Madam, don't get too worked up. He has slight awareness now—that's a good sign. He'll wake soon. Just be patient a bit longer."
Olivia nodded, wiped her tears, and felt full of hope. "Thank you, Doctor. As long as he wakes, I'll wait forever."
After the doctor left, Olivia held Luca's hand tightly, a long-lost smile on her face.
He wasn't awake yet, but he had awareness. That was enough. She believed he'd wake soon and be with her and Leo again.
