Chapter 181 Go Find Luca
Olivia nodded, but her worries didn't ease at all. The fear washed over her like a wave, almost drowning her.
She couldn't eat a bite. She stood up and said, "I'm not feeling well. I'll head upstairs first. You guys keep eating."
"Okay, get some good rest. Don't overthink it. Call us if you need anything." Clara watched her walk away, worried herself but not sure how to comfort her.
Olivia went back to her room, shut the door behind her, and couldn't hold back anymore. Tears streamed down her face.
She stayed awake all night, eyes wide open until dawn. Bloodshot eyes and growing worries weighed her down.
The next day, she still had no word from Luca.
Dropping Leo off at kindergarten, she was distracted, her mind full of Luca.
Clara saw she wasn't okay and offered, "Olivia, if you're worried, go handle it. I'll take care of dropping off and picking up Leo."
Olivia looked at her gratefully. "Thank you, Clara. Sorry for the trouble."
Clara smiled and patted her shoulder. "We're family. We help each other. Go do what you need to. I've got Leo."
Back home, Olivia couldn't sit still. She didn't know what to do, so she kept calling Luca's phone and checking messages, hoping for any sign from him.
Just then, her phone rang. The screen showed an unknown number.
Olivia's heart tightened. A bad feeling hit her. She hesitated but picked up quickly. "Hello?"
"Olivia, long time no see." A familiar voice came through, soft but chilling her to the bone.
It was Jason!
Her body went rigid. She gripped the phone so hard her knuckles turned white. Her voice was ice-cold. "Jason! What do you want? Do you have Luca?"
"Don't rush." Jason's voice had a mocking edge and a hint of smugness. "I'm calling to let you know Luca's safe for now. No danger to his life yet."
"What did you do to him?" Olivia demanded, heart pounding. "Where are you? Let him go! If you have a problem, come after me. Don't hurt him!"
"Let him go? Sure." Jason chuckled lightly, his tone calculating. "But I have one condition."
"What condition?" Olivia asked right away. To save Luca, she'd agree to anything, even if it cost her life.
"Simple. Come see me alone." Jason's voice turned cold. "I'm abroad. I'll send you the address. You come by yourself. Tell no one. No bodyguards. Otherwise, forget about seeing him."
Olivia froze, like she'd been doused with ice water from head to toe.
Abroad?
She never imagined Jason had fled overseas—and taken Luca with him.
"Why are you doing this?" Olivia's voice shook with anger.
Jason sneered, his tone full of sarcasm. "Olivia, you'll always be mine. What I can't have, no one else gets. Luca dared to take you from me. He pays the price."
He hung up, giving her no chance to argue.
Right after, Jason sent a photo.
Olivia opened it with shaking hands. It was Luca's watch—the birthday gift she'd given him years ago. He treasured it, wore it every day, never took it off.
Seeing the watch, Olivia's heart sank. She felt ice-cold all over.
She called back right away, but Jason's phone was off.
Olivia clutched her phone, trembling, full of panic and fear.
What should she do?
Going abroad alone was dangerous. Jason was capable of anything. He'd gone completely mad. Who knew what he'd do to her.
But if she didn't go, Luca was in danger. Jason followed through on threats. He'd hurt Luca for real.
She couldn't just watch Luca get hurt. He'd been caught trying to save her. She had to help.
After a moment's thought, Olivia wiped her tears. She'd made up her mind.
She called the executive assistant right away and told him everything.
"Jason has Luca. He wants me to meet him alone abroad, or he'll hurt Luca." Olivia's voice shook, but she was firm. "He sent the address. I have to go. Help me set it up. I need to leave now."
"What?" The assistant sounded shocked. He clearly hadn't expected Jason to go this far. "Madam, calm down. Don't agree. It's too dangerous. Jason's set a trap. You'll be walking right into it—like a lamb to the slaughter. You won't save Mr. Vettel, and you'll get yourself caught too. I've already got our people abroad tracking Jason. We'll have news soon. Wait. Don't act rashly."
"But I can't wait!" Olivia's voice cracked with tears, on the edge of breaking down. "Jason said if I'm not there on time, he'll hurt Luca. I can't take that risk. Not even a minute."
"I have to go. Get me a flight and visa as fast as possible. We can deal with the rest later."
"Madam, you can't go!" The assistant tried to stop her, voice urgent. "The boss wouldn't want this. He told us to protect you and the young master. Don't let his efforts go to waste."
"I know, but I have no choice." Olivia said firmly. "Luca got caught saving me. I can't abandon him. Even if it's risky, I have to try. Don't worry. I'll be careful. And I trust you'll find us fast and keep us safe."
The assistant went quiet for a moment. He knew Olivia's personality. Once she decided something, she wouldn't back down. She seemed gentle, but she was tough deep down.
"Okay, madam. I'll do it." The assistant said helplessly. "I'll arrange the flight and visa right now, as fast as possible. Our people abroad will protect you in secret. As soon as we have news, we'll move. I won't let anything happen to you or the boss."
"Thank you." Olivia said gratefully, her voice choked up.
After hanging up, Olivia went to Clara and Arthur. She just said she had to go abroad for something. She didn't mention Luca being kidnapped.
Then she called Emma and handed over the studio.
Once everything was set, Olivia packed her bags and boarded the flight abroad.
The plane flew for over ten hours and finally landed.
Olivia walked out of the airport, full of nerves and caution. She scanned the area.
Right then, she spotted a man holding a sign with her name on it in big, bold letters.
It was the person Jason sent to pick her up.
Olivia's heart tightened. She took a deep breath and walked over slowly.
