Chapter 171 Received the News
Leo nodded. "Yes."
Jason followed them in, holding a glass of milk. "Have some milk. It'll help with digestion."
Olivia took the milk and handed it to Leo. "Drink it slowly."
But she was thinking that Emma must have received the message and notified Luca by now, and she hoped they could get here soon.
For the next while, Olivia deliberately had Leo draw pictures for Jason, trying to buy time.
Leo was happy, holding his paintbrush and drawing seriously.
Jason sat beside him, patiently keeping him company and occasionally explaining painting techniques to Leo.
Olivia watched them, feeling disgusted inside, but could only force herself to bear it.
What worried her most now was the tablet's safety. If Jason discovered it, that would be trouble.
Taking the opportunity of washing Leo's paintbrushes, Olivia quietly went around to the garden and retrieved the tablet from the crack in the artificial rock formation.
She felt this place still wasn't safe enough - she needed to find a more hidden spot.
Thinking of the villa's attic, which people rarely visited, it should be a good place to hide things.
She quickly ran up to the attic, which was piled full of miscellaneous items and many storage boxes.
She opened a storage box that looked like it hadn't been touched in a long time, put the tablet inside, closed the lid, and put it back in place.
Only after doing all this did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Returning to the room, she saw Leo still interacting with Jason, but upon closer inspection, she noticed Leo's mental state wasn't good. His eyes were somewhat dull, and he looked drowsy.
Olivia's heart tightened, and she quickly walked over. "Leo, what's wrong? Are you feeling sick?"
Leo shook his head. "Mom, I'm a little sleepy."
Jason said with a smile, "He's probably tired from playing outside earlier. Let him sleep a bit more."
But Olivia felt something was wrong. Leo usually had lots of energy; even if he was tired from playing, he wouldn't get sleepy this quickly.
She suddenly remembered the milk Jason had given Leo earlier. Could there have been sleeping pills in it?
As soon as this thought emerged, she felt a surge of anger.
Jason had actually drugged a child! That was too much!
"No need, I'll take Leo back to the room to rest." Olivia picked up Leo and turned to leave.
She had to protect Leo and couldn't let him be harmed again.
Back in the room, Olivia put Leo on the bed and carefully observed his condition.
Leo quickly fell asleep, breathing evenly. He seemed fine, but she was still very worried.
This made her even more determined to escape with Leo as soon as possible.
That night, Olivia barely slept because she was worried about Leo.
In a daze, she heard voices from outside.
It was Jason and a bodyguard's voices.
She quietly got up, walked to the door, and looked out through the crack.
Jason and a bodyguard were standing in the hallway, talking in low voices.
"Sir, what if Luca finds this place?" the bodyguard asked.
"Don't worry, I've already arranged a new location, more hidden than here," Jason said. "But Leo is still young, let him sleep a bit more. We'll move first thing tomorrow morning."
The bodyguard nodded. "Alright, sir."
Olivia's heart jumped. They were actually going to relocate!
If they were taken to a new place, who knows if there would still be a chance to contact the outside world?
She had to find a way to stop them, or escape before they moved.
Just then, Jason suddenly turned around and walked toward her room.
Olivia was so scared she quickly got back into bed, pretending to be asleep.
The door was gently pushed open, and Jason walked in.
He walked to the bedside and gazed at the sleeping Olivia, his eyes complex.
Olivia could feel his gaze. Her heart tensed, and she held her breath, not daring to move.
After a while, she felt Jason's hand reach toward her cheek, wanting to touch her.
Olivia forced herself to endure the discomfort and continued pretending to sleep.
Just as his fingers were about to touch her cheek, he suddenly stopped, then turned and left the room.
Only when Olivia heard the sound of the door closing did she breathe a sigh of relief, her back already drenched in cold sweat.
This Jason was becoming increasingly frightening.
She couldn't sleep anymore and kept her eyes open, watching for any movement outside.
After about an hour, she heard the sound of packing luggage downstairs.
It seemed they really were preparing to move.
Olivia felt anxious but didn't know what to do.
She got up and walked to Leo's room, wanting to check on him.
Just as she reached the door, she saw a bodyguard about to wake Leo up.
"Don't touch him!" Olivia rushed forward furiously and shielded Leo behind her.
The bodyguard was startled and stopped. "Ma'am, we need to leave."
"You can't take him!" Olivia glared at the bodyguard. "This is illegal detention. I have the right to call the police!"
"Ma'am, we're just following orders," the bodyguard said helplessly. "If you're willing to cooperate with the move, you can come along. Otherwise, we'll have to leave you here."
Olivia hesitated.
If she didn't go, she'd be separated from Leo, and she wasn't comfortable with that.
But if she went along, once they got to the new place, there might really be no chance to escape.
"I won't let you take Leo!" Olivia's attitude was firm.
"Ma'am, please don't make this difficult for us," the bodyguard said. "Mr. Compson is doing this for your own good. Once we get to the new place, you'll understand."
"I don't care. I won't let you take Leo anyway!" Olivia held Leo tightly.
Just then, Jason walked in. "Olivia, stop making a scene. It's time for us to leave."
"I won't go with you!" Olivia looked at him. "Let us go right now, or I'll call the police!"
"Call the police?" Jason laughed coldly. "Do you think calling the police would help now?"
He walked up to Olivia and tried to take Leo from her arms.
"Let go of my son!" Olivia held Leo tightly, refusing to let go.
Jason was much stronger, and Olivia was no match for him. He quickly took Leo from her.
"Mom!" Leo was scared and cried out loudly.
"Jason, give Leo back to me!" Olivia was emotional and rushed forward to try to grab Leo.
But the bodyguard blocked her, preventing her from getting close.
"Let me go!" Olivia pushed at the bodyguard, calling for help loudly.
"Ma'am, please calm down," the bodyguard said. "As long as you agree to move, you can come along."
Olivia looked at the crying Leo, her heart aching.
She knew that resisting now was useless and would only cause Leo harm.
"Fine, I'll go with you," Olivia said helplessly. "But you must guarantee Leo's safety."
"Don't worry, I won't hurt him," Jason said, carrying Leo out of the room.
Olivia followed them downstairs, her heart full of unwillingness and anger.
She had to find a way to leave clues during the move so Luca could find them.
While packing, Olivia deliberately hid one of Leo's small jackets in a drawer in the room and hid her hairpin in a corner of the closet.
These were things she used regularly. If Luca saw them, he would definitely know they had been here.
After doing all this, she followed Jason and the others to the car.
Shortly after the car left the villa, Luca arrived with a large group of people.
