Chapter 170 Completely Useless
Olivia didn't say anything and turned to walk back into the villa.
She had only one thought now: get out of here as soon as possible.
Back in the room, Leo was sitting at the desk drawing. When he saw Olivia come in, he held up the paper right away. "Mom, look at the kite I drew!"
The paper showed a colorful kite, with two little figures next to it—one was him, the other Jason.
Olivia looked at the drawing and felt sad inside.
Leo was still so little and had no idea they were in danger.
"It's really nice," Olivia said, touching his head. "Tired? Want to take a nap?"
Leo nodded. "A little tired."
Olivia got Leo to lie down and tucked him in.
After Leo fell asleep, she took out the tablet again and started planning.
Earlier in the garden corner, there was a weak signal. Maybe if she tried again, she could send it.
She quietly left the room, trying not to make a sound.
There weren't many bodyguards in the villa—they were all at the door—and the yard was empty.
She hurried to that corner, pulled out the tablet, and yes, it picked up the weak signal again.
This time, she didn't message Luca first. She called Emma directly.
The phone rang a few times, but no one picked up.
Olivia felt disappointed. Why wasn't Emma answering?
She tried once more, but no luck.
No choice—she sent Emma a voice message.
"Emma, Jason has Leo and me trapped in a villa deep in the mountains. Bodyguards are guarding us. Come save us quick!"
The success notice popped up, and Olivia felt a rush of joy.
At least the message was sent. She hoped Emma would see it.
She was about to send one to Luca, too, when she heard footsteps behind her.
She turned—it was Jason.
Olivia quickly hid the tablet and pretended to look at the flowers.
"What are you doing here?" Jason sounded a bit suspicious.
"I came out for some fresh air," Olivia tried to act calm. "It was too stuffy inside."
Jason walked up and looked her over. "Were you contacting Luca?"
Olivia's heart jumped. How did he know?
"No, why would you think that?" she said, acting innocent.
"Just asking," Jason smiled. "Signal here's bad. You couldn't reach him anyway."
Olivia stayed quiet but hoped inside that Emma would see the message soon.
"Let's go back," Jason said. "It's chilly out here. Don't catch a cold."
Olivia nodded and followed him.
Back in the room, she hid the tablet in a crack in the garden rockery.
It was a hidden spot—no one should find it.
She took out her phone and messaged Emma: the tablet was in the rockery crack, she couldn't use it now, tell Luca to come save her quick.
Message sent—Olivia let out a breath.
She'd done all she could. Now wait for rescue.
Meanwhile, Emma rushed into Luca's company in a panic.
Luca was in a meeting with top execs. The room was tense. He heard urgent knocking and frowned. "Come in."
Seeing Emma, his face got darker. "What? Wait till the meeting's over."
"No! Can't wait!" Emma ignored the stares and ran to Luca, handing him her phone. "Luca, listen! Olivia's in trouble!"
The phone played Olivia's voice message. Her voice shook with fear—each word hit Luca hard.
"Jason has Leo and me trapped in a villa deep in the mountains. Bodyguards are guarding us. Come save us quick!"
Luca's face turned pale with rage. The air around him felt heavy. His pen snapped in his hand—ink splattered the papers.
"Address!" He shot up, chair sliding back hard. His voice burned with anger. "Know the spot?"
"She didn't say exactly—just deep mountain villa," Emma said, almost crying. "Can't reach her now. No replies. Jason must have her locked down tighter!"
Luca grabbed his coat and headed out. He snapped at the execs: "Meeting on hold. Deal with everything when I'm back!"
His steps were fast and heavy—echoing down the hall.
In the car, Luca called Olivia right away. "The number you dialed is unavailable."
He tried a few times—same thing.
"Damn it!" Luca punched the dashboard, eyes red.
He'd long suspected Jason's feelings for Olivia weren't right, but this nut had dared to hold her against her will—and drag Leo into it!
"Find out—now!" Luca ordered his assistant. "Use every resource. Track Jason's recent moves and all his mountain properties. Results in ten minutes!"
"Yes, sir!" The assistant jumped on it, calling contacts.
The car sped down the road. Luca gripped his phone, knuckles white.
Pictures of Olivia and Leo kept flashing in his head. He worried they'd get hurt. Worry and anger almost ate him up.
If anything happened to them, Jason was done.
Ten minutes later, the assistant called: "Boss, got it! Jason has a private villa in the west mountains. Address on your phone. Someone saw him there yesterday with a woman and boy matching Olivia and Leo."
Luca had him set navigation. The car turned and raced to the west mountains.
"Get everyone we can to that address—quietly, no alerting them!" Luca's voice was cold. "Contact local cops for backup rescue, but keep it low-key. Don't want Jason snapping and hurting them!"
"Got it!"
The car bounced on the mountain road. Luca kept pushing the driver to speed up—he wanted to fly to Olivia.
Trees whipped by outside. His mind raced—just one thought on repeat: Olivia, Leo, hold on—I'm coming.
Meanwhile, Olivia followed Emma's reply and turned on location sharing on the tablet.
Signal kept dropping—it took ten full minutes to work.
Then Jason yelled from the room door: "Olivia, Leo's awake and wants you."
Olivia shut it off fast and shoved it deep in the rockery crack.
"Got it, coming," she called back.
She hurried to the room. Leo sat on the bed rubbing his eyes.
"Mom, where'd you go?" Leo asked.
"Mom was just walking in the yard," Olivia said, touching his head. "Hungry? Want something to eat?"
