Chapter 135 Nephew
Luca reached into the backpack beside him, pulled out two beautifully wrapped small boxes, and handed them to the two children. "Here, these are some little gifts for you."
Leo's eyes lit up instantly. He reached out to take his box, his small hands tearing at the wrapping paper, full of curiosity.
Dylan, still shy, looked up at Luca. Only after seeing Luca smile and nod did he slowly stretch out his little hand, take the gift, and hold it close. He quietly said, "Thank you, Uncle Luca."
Luca ruffled his hair. "No need to thank me. Just have fun playing with Leo from now on."
Leo had already torn open the wrapping. Inside was a buildable race car model, the exact one he'd mentioned wanting during a livestream with his fans a few days ago.
He jumped up and down with the model in his hands. "Wow! It's the latest race car! Uncle LO, how did you know I wanted this?"
Luca chuckled to himself. He watched Leo's livestreams every day and remembered the kid's wishes clearly, but he casually said, "Just a guess. Thought you might like it."
Leo hugged the model, grinning from ear to ear. He turned and grabbed Dylan's hand. "Dylan, quick, open yours! Let's see what you got. We can play together!"
Dylan nodded and slowly opened his box. Inside was a small building block castle with soft colors, perfect for a young boy.
Leo looked at the castle, his eyes shining even brighter. "This castle looks so cool! We can build it together and put it in the toy corner at school!"
Dylan stared at the blocks in his hands, a faint smile appearing on his face. He gave a soft "mm-hmm," the first time he'd actively responded to Leo that day.
Luca stood to the side, watching the two kids huddle together over the toys, feeling a sense of relief and happiness.
He knew his efforts weren't wasted. With Leo's outgoing nature to balance Dylan's shyness, Dylan would open up soon enough.
He greeted the teacher nearby, mentioning that a driver would pick up Dylan later. The teacher smiled and agreed, telling him not to worry.
Luca watched the kids a bit longer, seeing how focused they were on playing, before quietly slipping out of the classroom.
As he left, he was extra careful to keep his steps light, not wanting to disturb their little focused faces.
Outside the classroom, Luca leaned against the hallway wall and took out his phone to text the driver.
He told him to come to the kindergarten after school to pick up Dylan and added a reminder: if he saw Olivia, just say he was picking up his nephew and not to mention Luca's presence.
After sending the message, Luca felt a little excited, wondering how Olivia would react when she saw Dylan and learned he was his nephew.
He was also a bit nervous, worried that Olivia might see through his little plan. If she did, all his efforts would be for nothing.
Time at the kindergarten passed quickly, and soon it was time to go home.
Olivia finished up her work at the studio and arrived at Sunshine Kindergarten right on time, heading to Leo's classroom door.
As soon as she got there, she saw Leo and an unfamiliar little boy sitting together at a table, playing with a bunch of toys that looked very expensive.
Leo, with his sharp eyes, spotted Olivia at the door and immediately raised his hand, shouting, "Mommy! You're here!"
Olivia walked over with a smile, reaching out to ruffle Leo's hair. Her tone was gentle. "Did you have fun at school today?"
"Super fun, Mommy!" Leo pulled the boy next to him forward, gently pushing him toward Olivia.
"Mom, this is Dylan. He's Uncle LO's nephew and a new classmate who just transferred to our class today!"
Olivia froze for a moment, her gaze landing on the small boy in front of her. He was thin and tiny, his eyes showing a hint of shyness.
When he noticed her looking at him, he slightly lowered his head and softly mumbled, "Nice to meet you, madam."
Olivia quickly snapped out of it, smiled, and softened her voice. "Hi, Dylan. Get along well with Leo from now on and have fun together."
Her eyes couldn't help but drift to the toys in front of the boys. The racecar model was a limited edition, and the building block castle was from a well-known, high-end brand.
Either one easily costs over $10,000. Olivia felt a bit puzzled. These toys clearly weren't from the kindergarten.
Leo had just met Dylan—how could they have such expensive new toys? It almost seemed like someone bought them specifically as gifts for the two kids.
Olivia crouched down, lightly touching the race car model in Leo's hands, and asked, "Where did this model come from? It's so new. Did the kindergarten give it to you?"
Leo quickly shook his head, hugging the model tightly with a big smile. "No, Mom, Uncle LO gave it to me! Dylan's blocks are from Uncle LO, too. He came to school to see me today and said Dylan and I should be good friends!"
Olivia's confusion grew. Why would LO suddenly come to the school and give such pricey gifts?
And on top of that, his nephew just happened to transfer into Leo's class. What were the odds? It felt way too intentional.
She pushed her questions aside, thinking this might be a good chance to thank LO in person.
Whether it was saving Leo at the airport, anonymously supporting Leo's livestreams, or now giving such thoughtful gifts to the kids, she owed him a proper thank-you.
Olivia looked at Leo and touched his little face. "So, where's Uncle LO now? Mommy wants to say thanks. He's taken such good care of you."
Leo tilted his head, suddenly remembering what Luca had told him before leaving. He shook his head. "Uncle LO had to leave for something. He said his driver would pick up Dylan after school and that we shouldn't bother him while he's working."
Olivia nodded, feeling a tiny bit disappointed. She'd hoped to thank him in person, but it seemed she'd have to wait for another chance.
She stood up, holding Leo's hand, and said a few kind words to Dylan, telling him not to be shy. Then she waited nearby for whoever would pick him up.
Her mind kept wandering: Who exactly was this LO? So generous, so caring toward Leo, yet so mysterious, always staying out of sight.
It wasn't long before a driver in a black suit, standing tall and straight, walked to the classroom door.
Seeing Dylan, the driver stepped forward and respectfully said, "Young master, sir sent me to pick you up."
Dylan looked up at the sound, let go of the blocks in his hands, and quickly walked over, obediently holding onto the driver's sleeve.
Olivia saw the driver and froze for a second. A sudden thought popped into her head: Could this be LO?
She'd never seen LO's real face, so it wasn't a crazy guess. Maybe he just liked to keep a low profile and didn't show himself.
But looking at the driver's respectful demeanor and professional attitude, he didn't seem like the mysterious person who'd been anonymously supporting Leo's livestreams.
Her little spark of hope faded. She'd clearly overthought it.
Olivia steadied herself, walked over, and gave the driver a polite smile. "Hello, are you Mr. LO's driver? I'm Leo's mom, Olivia. I've been wanting to thank Mr. LO for always looking after Leo and for giving the kids such valuable gifts."
The driver nodded slightly, his tone polite but distant. "Hello, Ms. Olivia. Mr. LO said it's just a small matter, no need to thank him."
