Chapter 132 Great Mood Swing
"Did Mom mention that friend's name? Like... Uncle LO?" Jason's voice sounded a bit nervous as his eyes locked on Leo in the rearview mirror.
Leo looked up, his eyes lighting up for a moment. "Uncle LO? Mom didn't say anything about him. But Uncle LO didn't watch my livestream yesterday. Is he mad at me?"
"Mad? Why would he be mad?" Jason pressed, his heart beating faster.
"Because I accidentally told Mom our secret," Leo said, lowering his head and clutching the edge of his shirt. His voice sounded a little upset. "Mom found out that Uncle LO is the kind uncle who saved me."
Jason's heart sank. So it really was connected to LO.
"Did Uncle LO ever tell you what kind of relationship he has with Mom?" he continued, trying to keep his tone casual. "Like, is he Mom's friend or something?"
Leo shook his head, burying his face even lower. "No, Uncle LO said it's our secret, and I can't tell anyone. But..." He looked up, his eyes full of admiration for LO. "Uncle LO is so nice to me. He often gives me gifts and says he'll come see me a lot. He even said he'll draw with me in the future."
Jason's mind was filled with questions, but he couldn't get any more out of Leo.
He wanted to ask more, but the car had already pulled up to the kindergarten entrance.
"We're here!" Leo pushed the door open and hopped out, bouncing with energy. "Bye, Uncle Jason!"
"Bye," Jason said, watching Leo's small figure disappear. The unease in his heart hadn't lessened at all.
He knew it was impossible to get more information about LO from Leo.
But he wasn't giving up. He had to find out who this LO really was and what his connection to Olivia was.
Watching Leo's back, Jason's thoughts were a mess.
He was growing more suspicious of this LO. Could it be Luca?
If it really was him, what was his goal in getting close to Leo?
Was it for Olivia?
Thinking of this, Jason's expression darkened. He pulled out his phone and dialed Olivia's number again.
This time, the call finally went through.
"Liv, where are you?" he asked urgently, his voice filled with barely hidden anxiety.
"I'm..." Olivia hesitated for a moment. "I'm out, dealing with something."
"Dealing with what? You didn't come home all night?" Jason's tone carried a hint of accusation, though he didn't even realize it.
Olivia frowned, feeling a bit annoyed. "A friend had some trouble, so I helped out."
"A friend? Is it that LO?" Jason pushed, his tone growing more urgent.
Olivia paused, caught off guard. "How do you know about LO?"
"Leo told me," Jason said, his voice low. "Liv, who is this LO? Do you know him?"
"I don't know him personally. I just know he's been supporting Leo's livestreams," Olivia replied, not wanting to talk more. She didn't like Jason's interrogating tone. "By the way, thanks for picking up Leo yesterday. I'll be at the studio today, so if there's anything, we can talk in person."
"Fine," Jason agreed, though he still had a ton of questions. He knew he wouldn't get answers now.
After hanging up, Olivia stared out the window at the rain that had just stopped, feeling irritated.
Jason's constant questioning made her uncomfortable, as if she had to report everything to him.
She gathered her things and left the guest room. As she stepped into the living room, she saw breakfast laid out on the table.
Fried eggs, milk, sandwiches— all the things she liked.
Luca came out of the kitchen wearing an apron, holding a plate. Seeing her, he smiled slightly. "You're up? Come eat breakfast."
Olivia was stunned. "You made this?"
"Who else?" Luca raised an eyebrow, setting the plate down. "I can't let you go back on an empty stomach, can I?"
He handed her the utensils. "Try it. See how it tastes."
Olivia took a bite of the sandwich. The bread was soft, the egg was perfectly seasoned, and it had her favorite lettuce and tomato. It actually tasted pretty good.
"Didn't expect you to know how to cook," she said casually, a bit surprised.
"I learned a few times from you back then. Guess I didn't forget," Luca said calmly, as if it was no big deal, though his eyes held a hint of nostalgia.
Olivia felt a ripple in her heart but didn't say anything. She lowered her head and quietly ate her breakfast.
After finishing, Luca grabbed his car keys. "I'll drive you back to the studio."
"No need, I can drive myself," Olivia declined. She just wanted to leave as soon as possible.
"Your car is still at the supermarket parking lot, and it just rained, so the roads are slippery," Luca said seriously. "I'll take you. I'm heading to the office anyway, so it's on the way."
Olivia hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Alright, thanks."
They walked out of the villa and got into the car. Just then, a familiar car pulled up nearby.
It was Windy. She stepped out in high heels, dressed impeccably, clearly here to see Luca.
These past few days, Luca hadn't contacted her or replied to her messages, so she had to come in person.
Her face lit up with a smile when she saw Luca, but when her gaze landed on Olivia beside him, her smile froze. A flash of shock and anger crossed her eyes, though she quickly hid it and walked over.
"Hey, Olivia? When did you come back? How come I didn't know?"
Olivia glanced at her, a mocking smile tugging at her lips. Her tone was light but sharp. "I've been back for a while. We even saw each other at the Harrison family banquet last week. What, didn't recognize me then?"
Windy's eyes flickered, her fingers subtly gripping her skirt as she quickly tried to smooth things over. "There were so many people at the banquet, and the lighting was dim. I thought the back looked familiar but didn't dare confirm. So it was you! I would've said hi if I'd known."
Olivia smirked inwardly at her words. Last week at the banquet, Windy had come over to provoke her and got shut down. Now she was pretending they weren't acquainted.
Luca, who hadn't thought much of it at first, started to frown as he noticed Windy's forced behavior and recalled Olivia's words. His gaze darkened as he looked at Windy, his tone carrying clear doubt. "Windy, you saw her at the banquet last week? Why didn't you tell me she was back?"
Windy's heart skipped a beat. She hadn't expected Luca to ask so directly. Her voice wavered. "I... I wasn't sure it was her at the time."
"Not sure, yet you still went over and talked to me for so long?" Olivia didn't bother watching her act and cut straight through. "At the banquet, you didn't say that. You accused me of coming back on purpose. What, forgot already?"
Her words left Windy with no way out. Her face turned red, then pale, as she stammered, unable to form a full sentence. She kept trying to explain to Luca. "Luca, don't listen to her. She's misunderstanding me. I really didn't..."
Luca looked at her, already piecing things together. His expression turned cold, and his voice lost all warmth. "Enough, stop talking. I don't think you didn't recognize her. You knew all along and deliberately kept it from me."
