Chapter 12 Desire to Sleep Beside Her
Olivia closed the bedroom door, towel in hand as she dried her hair and walked toward the bed. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror.
Her lips were red and swollen marks left by Luca.
Her mind flashed back to Luca's angry eyes.
She didn't get it. It was Luca who wanted a divorce, Luca who had his heart set on Windy. So why did he force a kiss on her?
Olivia raised her hand and wiped her lips hard, but she couldn't seem to erase the feeling of Luca's breath on her.
Just then, the bedroom door suddenly opened.
Through the mirror, Olivia saw Luca and turned around in shock. "This is my room! Get out!"
Luca didn't say a word. He strode over and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist.
"What are you doing?" Olivia jumped, immediately pushing against him. "Luca, let go of me!"
Luca smirked shamelessly. "We're husband and wife. We're supposed to sleep together at night. You don't have the right to refuse me."
With that, his hand slid down and gripped her full hips. He'd wanted to do this the moment he saw her back earlier.
Olivia froze, anger and panic surging through her as she tried with all her strength to pry his arms off. "We're getting a divorce! You're not allowed to touch me! Go find your precious Windy and stop disgusting me!"
She couldn't understand how Luca, who was in love with another woman, still had the nerve to sleep with her.
Wasn't he worried Windy would be hurt if she found out?
At the mention of Windy's name, Luca paused for a moment. But the next second, he was distracted by the feel of Olivia in his arms. As she struggled, her soft chest kept pressing against his.
Luca took a deep breath, feeling even more restless inside. He didn't let go, his voice hoarse as he said, "Disgusting? Olivia, have you forgotten? Last time, it was you who drugged me and tricked me into sleeping with you!"
Olivia's face instantly turned pale.
Yes.
If she hadn't acted on impulse to get back at him that time, she wouldn't be pregnant now.
"You started it. So I should get something back, right? Fair trade." Luca grabbed her chin and kissed her soft earlobe.
Olivia shivered under his breath, her body trembling. "You… you're shameless! You've got Windy, and you're still doing this with me? "
"Shut up! Don't mention anyone else!" Luca lowered his head and kissed her red lips, biting her as if to punish her, then lifted her up in his arms.
"Ah! Luca, put me down!" Olivia panicked even more, kicking and hitting him in desperation.
She was pregnant, her body was weak, and she couldn't do this!
But Luca seemed to ignore her words, carrying her to the bed.
Olivia felt the soft mattress against her back. She tried to get up, but Luca's body pressed down on her. His arms braced on either side of her, his eyes burning with desire. "You'd better behave, Olivia. Otherwise, I can't promise I won't hurt you."
Olivia grew even more nervous, her mind racing for a way to escape. Finally, an idea struck her. "I'm on my period!"
Luca's hand, reaching for her chest, stopped. His body tensed, and he narrowed his eyes, staring at her.
Olivia's heart pounded as she pushed against his arms. "I'm really on my period. My stomach hurts so much, and that's why I've been feeling sick these past few days. Let me go now, or..." She tried to sound as threatening as he had, "or I can't promise I won't puke all over you!"
The heat in Luca's eyes slowly faded. He took a deep breath. "Fine. You win."
Luca got up.
The oppressive feeling around her disappeared, and Olivia secretly let out a sigh of relief. She sat up and pulled the blanket over her legs.
But Luca didn't leave her room. Instead, he took off his jacket by the bed.
Olivia's eyes widened. "What are you doing?"
Luca pulled off his white T-shirt, revealing his toned abs. He walked around to the other side of the bed, lay down next to Olivia, and reached over to turn off the bedside lamp.
The room went dark.
"Sleep," Luca said coldly, then went silent.
Olivia sat stiffly on the edge of the bed, not knowing what to do.
She really didn't understand what Luca was up to.
After hesitating for a while, she finally lay down as far away from him as possible, keeping the maximum distance between them.
Luca was like a completely different person today. He'd never held her or kissed her before, and he'd never shown any interest in her body. He must've had a fight with Windy, got upset, and came to her to blow off steam, right?
Olivia's gaze turned cold, and she felt sick again.
How disgusting.
In his eyes, she was just a marriage partner to toy with, someone he wouldn't let go of even when they were about to divorce!
Olivia bit her lip and waited quietly for a while.
She knew Luca fell asleep quickly and was a heavy sleeper. After a few minutes, his breathing evened out—he was out cold.
Olivia carefully lifted the blanket, stepped barefoot onto the floor, and quietly opened the bedroom door, slipping out.
She went to the laundry room, grabbed a spare blanket, and headed downstairs.
The living room couch was wide. Olivia curled up on it, wrapping herself tightly in the blanket.
Surrounded by the furniture and decorations her mother used to love, Olivia finally felt like she could breathe.
Exhausted and weak, she soon fell into a deep sleep.
Luca slept soundly that night, the faint scent of lavender lingering in his nose.
It was the smell of the laundry detergent Olivia always used.
For some reason, he didn't mind it at all. In fact, it made him feel at ease.
Just as dawn broke, Luca woke up.
His hand instinctively reached to the side, but he grasped at nothing.
Where was Olivia?
Luca's eyes snapped open, and he sat up.
The other side of the bed was empty, and the spot where Olivia had slept was cold.
Clearly, she'd left a long time ago.
She actually snuck away while he was asleep?!
Anger surged through him. Luca hadn't expected Olivia to be so unwilling to stay with him now.
The old Olivia wasn't like this. Back then, even if he just came home to have dinner with her, she'd be thrilled.
With a cold expression, Luca threw off the blanket and got out of bed. He went downstairs and saw the scene in the living room.
Olivia was curled up on the couch, wrapped in a thick blanket, with only half her face peeking out.
She was fast asleep, her brows slightly furrowed. Compared to the wariness and coldness she showed him, her sleeping face looked so gentle.
And beautiful.
Still, Olivia would rather sleep on the couch than share a bed with him.
Luca felt anger rising, but for some reason, the sight in front of him melted it away.
He lightened his steps and walked over to the couch.
Olivia's lashes were long, trembling slightly with each breath.
Luca couldn't help but lean down, wanting to see her more clearly. He got closer and closer. Without thinking, he reached out and pulled the blanket down a bit from her face.
Olivia's lips were slightly parted, looking so kissable.
Luca always acted on impulse. Without a second thought, he bent down to kiss her.
Just then, Olivia's lashes fluttered, and she opened her eyes. She saw a face right in front of her.
Olivia screamed in fright and instinctively swung her hand.
Slap!
A loud smack landed on Luca's cheek!
Olivia scrambled to sit up. Only after she was fully awake did she realize it was Luca in front of her.
Luca's face darkened instantly. He touched the spot where she'd hit him, wincing in pain.
