Chapter 6: Make him crazy

I was busy the next days. Due to the change of plans, the coffee shop needs to be open soon. Fortunately, Adelaine found a good location near Castroverde Empowered Motors Inc. I also received an email last night about my application to Castroverde Empowered Motors being cancelled. They want to compromise for the mistake. It seems that Ellise's resignation was not really approved, but I still can't forget what is bothering her.

I couldn’t understand why she didn’t seem to be able to tell me her problem. From what I heard at our last meeting at Kiana's hotel, the three of them knew, so I was the only one who didn't have any idea of what was going on with her life? Ever since we met in the Vixen Tribe, we're almost inseparable.

The two of us always have each other's back, so why does I felt she seem to be hiding something from me?

Nothing much has changed for Ellise but there are times when she can't look me in the eyes. Even though we were all busy opening the coffee shop, I could hardly take my eyes off her. I know she notices what I'm doing, so she avoids looking even more.

"Ellise looked uncomfortable," Kiana whispered.

I turned to her. We are already in the coffee shop and she is helping me orient my new employees. She wanted me to hire her former hotel employees but I refused.

"I feel like she's hiding something from me," I said.

Kiana averted her eyes from me. "Maybe... we can't tell, but you know Ellise, you're the closest to her. She often comes to you, so it's better to just wait for her to tell you voluntarily," She stated.

I nodded. I don’t know if I should be relieved by what Kiana said or even more worried. What keeps Ellise from telling me what’s bothering her? Is it because I'm too focused on my mission?

I shook my head. Maybe I become more strict to her because of the mission. Maybe I should always remind them that I will be okay if they don't want to be part of this.

"How are you and Miguel? Did he come back to your condo?" Kiana mumbled.

I shook my head with disappointment. It's been a week, but he never returned to my condo again. We were also busy opening the coffee shop, so I didn’t bother them to gather information on where Miguel was or what he was doing.

"Maybe he's already in Palawan. Their cousin's wedding is on Saturday."

Kiana and I turned to Adelaine. She was doing something at the counter.

"You're not going with Raymond?" Kiana grinned as she said that.

I raised an eyebrow at Kiana. She smirked at me and pointed Adelaine.

"Do you and Raymond have 'something', Adi?" I asked with curiosity.

Kiana chuckled. "They're FUBU, Shin."

Adelaine rolled her eyes. "Exactly! So why are you asking if Raymond will go with me in his family affairs?"

"Why don't you ask him, Adi? He's here... I wonder who said you're here?" Kiana pointed outside the coffee shop.

There was a man outside and looking directly at Adelaine. He looked arrogant and the playboy type. Her brown hair is up to her shoulders. Even from afar I can say this man is a womanizer.

I looked at Adelaine whose busy typing with her cellphone. She looks mad and almost lose her poise. Adelaine made a deep sigh before standing up and heading outside the coffee shop.

"It's like she's going to explode in anger," I speculated

Kiana nodded at me and we watched Adelaine talking to the man outside. They were obviously arguing. We don't hear much of what they are talking about, but based on a few people passing by their voices seem to be getting louder.

The man opened the front seat of his car. I know she wants to talk to Adelaine properly but as far as I know Adelaine's habit, you can't force her to do things she doesn't want to do. Based on her reaction I know she won't come with him.

Adelaine entered the coffee shop with a blush all over her face. She murmured something as she picked her bag and cellphone at the counter.

"Damn it!" She cursed before heading out.

Adelaine left us stunned. She got into his car without saying a word to us.

"Did she... go with him?" Kiana said incredulously.

I nodded. "I didn't expect that to her."

Kiana nodded too. I knew we have the same thoughts about Adelaine. We were always together, but we only knew each other’s habits. Personal things like this we rarely talk about. I only know small details about them.

Details like, Kiana loves business. She's from a wealthy family from Cebu. Monica loves guns because of the influence of her soldier father.

Adelaine, on the other hand, completed an architecture course. She's an orphan like me and has her own business too.

Ellise, the typical probinsyana girl. She only joined the organization because she wanted to learn self-defense. She's the vulnerable and smartest among us.

"Shin, your cellphone has been ringing for a while," Ellise called to me.

I nodded at her and tap Kiana's shoulder. My bag is inside my office at the coffee shop. Everything is not yet organized, but we can open the shop on Monday.

I reached my phone at the table. My brows furrowed when I saw unregistered number. I headed out the office to asked Kiana or Ellise about the unregistered number, but i stopped when I saw Adelaine sitting next to Kiana with the long-haired man earlier.

I approached them. Adelaine was still blushing with anger, but calmer than we had seen earlier.

"We have a visitor..." I pointed out.

The man stood up and held out his hand to me. I just looked at that, and turned to Adelaine who looked irritable next to Kiana.

"S-Sir Raymond?"

We turned to Ellise whose behind me. She looked around at the four of us, she seemed confused by what was happening.

"Ellise? What are you doing here?" He looked at the watch on his wrist and looked back at Ellise. "It's still work time. Rafael might scold you."

"I'm on leave, Sir."

"Oh! That's why Rafael's is always iritable," He said and smiled at Ellise. "He doesn't have his favorite employee."

I raised an eyebrow and looked at Ellise. "What does he mean?"

Adi stood up and approached the man. "Uh... Shin, This is Raymond..." Adelaine's grabbed my attention when she kicked the man's foot." ... I told him to take you instead to his cousin's wedding. "

I turned to Adelaine. I grabbed her and distanced ourselves to the crowd.

"What do you mean? Does this man knows everything, Adi?" I uttered.

Suddenly fear enveloped my system. I didn’t think there was a possibility that they could betray me if they got caught because of my situation.

"Y-You told him e-verything?" I repeated with tremble voice.

Adelaine shook her head. "No! I wouldn't do that!"

I sighed. I looked at Adelaine seriously. It was impossible for her to persuade this man to include me in his cousin's wedding for no reason. Raymond is Miguel's cousin so it's impossible for him not to tell Miguel what they talked about.

"Then what did you tell him?" I asked with annoyed voice.

"Nothing!

Adelaine looked at Raymond. We go back to the table and seated.

"He's still insisting that I should come -"

"Why don't you want to?" Raymond cut her off.

Adelaine glared at Raymond. Raymond sighed and averted his eyes from us.

"You all know me, I don't like things like that. I hate family affairs and..." She looked at Raymond. "... we're just fuck buddies so I see no reason to go with him to such an event."

Raymond looked sharply at Adelaine.

"So how did Shin get into your argument, Adi?" Monica asked.

"Miguel and Raymond can't get along, so I thought that if he took Shin to the party, his cousin would definitely make him angry - which he wants to happen." Adelaine smacked Raymond in front of us.

The three of us dropped our jaws at what she did.

"If you only knew how obsessed this man to make Miguel angry." Adelaine shook her head and look at Raymond with dagger eyes.

Monica and Ellise and I looked at each other. The two nodded to like they like what Adelaine suggested.

"Tsss. Miguel doesn't seem to know you, so how can he be angry with me taking you to our family affairs?" said Raymond.

He looked at me carefully. I raised an eyebrow at him. He had a point, it seemed that Miguel was no longer interested in me.

How many days has he not shown up?

Four? Five days...?

"Why don't we try?" I challenge him.

He raised an eyebrow to me.

"I've never heard Miguel go crazy with a woman. He's always organized and always acted perfectly. He doesn't want to make mistakes, so I'm sure you're just like the other women who drool over him."

My blood boiled at what he said.

"Let's try then. If I make him crazy over me..." I looked at Adi. "... you won't show up to my friend for a month."

"No fucking way!" He yelled.

I laughed. My suspicion of this man was correct.

"I like that idea!" Adelaine clapped her hands in the air.

"Damn you!" Raymond eyed me fiercely.

"Don't curse my friend!" Adelaine yelled.

Adelaine stared at Raymond and smacked him.

"What?! Why are you hurting me?" He growled at Adelaine.

"Let's go home. You'll take Shin to your cousin's wedding, this conversation is over." Adelaine grabbed Raymond by his sleeve and pulled him out of the coffee shop.

The three of us were left stunned. We eyed them while they were still fighting outside the coffee shop.
