Chapter 56
Aria
Since the past hour, I had not been able to move an inch from where Knight tied me. These ropes were so tight that every time I moved my hands my skin would end up getting sliced, the more I strained against it the more it'd hurt me.
Tension, fear, anxiety— I felt all sorts of emotions attack me from every side.
I had to do something to save my pack but here I was, under this brute's captive. And if I can't get out then he'd destroy my pack, he'd succeed in his mission. I needed to warn the members about Knight's plan.
I struggled against the restraints, ignoring all the pain it was causing me. The gag muffled my groans and screams, almost suffocating me.
And then suddenly the door opened and entered none other than the demon himself—Knight.
Amusement shined in his atrocious grey eyes, "I see, you haven't given up yet."
He stalked closer, there was a plate of food in his hand and he rested it on the side table.
"Although I'd love to have you tied and gagged this is not the way I'd prefer," He smirked and removed the gag from my mouth, I released a heavy breath, coughing and panting.
"I am never going to let you touch me, you piece of shit," I spat, "Don't even dream of something like that."
"I do not like dreams, Aria. I create my own reality that for sure are nightmares for others and soon you are going to be a part of it," He smiled, "Now, Eat something. I don't want you to be sick and unable to see the dead bodies of your pack members and your dear mate."
"This is what you can do, Knight. Ruin people's lives and consider yourself a victor but you in reality are a cheap pathetic being. You have no strength of yours, you are trying to reach the top by using the rouges; The same wolves who couldn't even be loyal to their packs," Venom dripped from my voice, "You should be ashamed of yourself, for your mate you even killed your mate, the one who was connected to your soul. There's no one else in the world who is as destroyed as you, you are ruined!"
"Wow! You don't even get tried, do you?" He laughed, "I must praise your attempts. Do you really think anything you say is going to affect me, Aria? If you think so, let me break it to— It. Won't. Because I don't give a fuck about it. I don't care what the world thinks, what are the standard morals and what are the emotions of people. Yes, I am selfish and my happiness thrives on people's pain, it makes a thrill run through my veins when I see their blood when I see them die and now it's the same thing I am going to do to your pack."
It was hard to believe that beings like Knight existed nonetheless it was true; I was witnessing it with my own eyes, hearing his demonic thoughts by my own ears.
"You and your mate have already lost. Everyone is a few moments away from their death, you know why?" The sadistic grin spread on his face, "I have already sent the first signal to the rouges and it'd take one last command for them to attack your pack like...hmmm, what do you call us? Oh yeah...monsters."
"Now, stop boring me and let me focus on my entertainment which starts now," He grabbed his phone from his pocket and dialed someone's number.
"Oh, but before that..." He paused for a second and grabbed the gag and shoved it inside my mouth once again, "This pretty mouth of yours needs to remain silent, after all, I am going to be calling your mate right now."
The mention of Hunter made the dismay shroud my mind and I fought against the grip of the ropes once again.
"Your efforts won't bring anything good, sweetheart," Knight spoke, his eyes not moving an inch from his phone, "You'll hurt yourself."
I glanced at the screen, as the call went on. Each ring of it, caused my heartbeats to pick up a pace. Knight intentionally put the call on loudspeaker knowing that I was dying from inside to talk to Hunter.
It was a matter of a few seconds when the call was answered, and sounded the very familiar voice of my mate.
"Hello, Aria? Is it you?" The restlessness and anticipation screamed through his voice.
"No, It's me; Drake. Drake Knight." The smirk curved onto Knight's lips.

Hunter
"Where is Aria?!" I asked, my fingers tightening their grip around Ashley's throat.
Her veins withered under my hold, and the supply of blood and oxygen was gradually getting cut from her filthy body nonetheless her face showed no fear.
"You are never going to know that," she emitted a croaked laugh, "And till you'll know it's going to be too late for you to take any action."
I did not bother once before I landed a tight slap across her face and threw her on the table. The impact broke the glass of the table and she fell to the ground with the pieces of sharp glasses that dug into her skin instantly drawing blood.
A hiss left her mouth and she gathered herself to stand up, "You really thought I'd fall for your plan? I knew from the start that you have always loved that Aria and can never anyone else, it was always her even when you used to sleep with me, it used to be her name that'd fall off your lips when you were asleep."
"I am not here to hear your sob story," I strode and grabbed her hair in a fist, "Don't try to fucking pretend that you have loved me and I ruined your life, you were always behind me because you wanted to be Luna and when you saw your motive is clearly failing, you joined hands with that Knight. How could you betray your own pack, huh?!"
"Pack?" A taunting laugh of hers echoed in the room, "Don't worry it won't even exist anymore, just a matter of one signal from him, and you all will be finished and your only escape would be me. Only I can save you, do you even know that? If for anything Knight would spare you that'd be because of me."
"Oh, you bloody moron. You still have the audacity to tell me that the person who killed his own mate, is going to listen to you because of some deal you have struck with him?" I sneered, "You are so fucking greedy for the power that you don't even understand where lies your own good and you have dragged everyone into the outcomes of your malfeasances."
"It's rich coming from you, Hunter," she laughed, "The one who put his mate through hell because he couldn't gather the strength to fight his own demons."
"Shut up! Just shut your fucking mouth and tell me her location if you want to stay alive," I shouted, "I won't think twice before ripping your head off of your body, Ashley. Don't test me."
"Then listen to me, she is with Knight. He took her away, in fact, he had his eyes on her from the day he first saw her and you are never going to get her back!" She let out, "And do you know the fun fact? The unknown enemy you have been looking for was Knight himself. He was in this pack, in front of you, around your mate all the time yet couldn't recognize him."
I was livid. The gigantic flames of rage were burning inside of me, they were untamable.
I wanted to kill this filthy woman then and there but right now she was the only way for me to reach Aria. I couldn't kill her without knowing Aria's location.
"Who is it? Tell me, who is it?!" I grabbed her jaw in a bone-crushing grip and indeed heard a crack that made a winch tear from her throat.
"I see, You haven't checked the refugees who have disappeared along with your mate," She said, "It's the same alpha you promised to help get his pack back, Drake. He is Drake-Knight."
My body froze upon her statement and my eyes widened in shock.
I could not believe what I just heard.
Knight was in our pack the whole time......
"What happened Alpha? Shocked?" She laughed, "Don't be, because I am sure he has better surprises planned for you."
This was it, I lost it.
I grabbed the back of her head and slammed her face against the wall with all force, her blood came out in a spurt and covered the white wall; An agonized scream of hers was heard and the satisfaction ran through my veins.
As she dropped to the floor, I grabbed her neck and pulled her to her feet once again.
"This is your last chance, Ashley," My claws came out and I dug them into her collar, "Tell me where Knight has taken my mate or die."
This was when the fear showed on her features— The fear of death.
"I-I don't know." She stammered. The blood flowed in a gush from her nose and lips, the sight of it also satisfactory just as her screams.
"I'll ask you one last time and if you don't say the truth, be ready for your ultimate goodbye to the world." The beast inside of me had fully taken till now and it was ready to tear her into pieces.
"I'm telling you the truth. Knight has not told me the location, all I know is that he has taken her to his mansion but I don't know where." she panted, her desperation of her to save her life evident in her eyes.
She was not lying. But did that make anything better for her? No.
"Okay then, there's no point in keeping you alive." That was it, I did not give her even a chance a speak and tore her head apart from her body with one swift jerk.
Her head flew to the other side of the room whilst her body dropped on the floor lifeless, and her blood pooled in front of my feet.
I recklessly wiped the blood on my hand over my jeans and proceed to storm out of the room to head to the rooms Knight and his companions had stayed in when suddenly my phone rang.
A scurried hope passed through me and I pulled out my phone in a hurry.
It was an unknown number.
I received it and raised it to my ear, "Hello, Aria? Is it you?"
But then instead of my mate, I was expecting, the malicious voice spoke up, "No, It's me; Drake. Drake Knight."
