Chapter 55
Hunter
"Hunter, calm down," Mom said, "Breaking things like this is not going to solve the problem."
"I don't have any idea where the hell she is, she is not in the pack, mom. Do you fucking understand what that means? Do you even understand the things that can happen to her?" I shouted, "There are enemies everywhere, they can seriously hurt her, and I might never be able to get her back."
"We will get her back, son. Please calm down." Dad spoke.
"No, I can't calm down. I can't until I find her," I threw away the chair against the wall, till now the entire office was a mess; Everything was destructed to the point of no return but I could care less about that, all that was in my mind was my Aria.
It was all my fault.
I should have told her about everything. How much pain she must have gone through!
The look on her face from last night was still haunting me. She looked so...broken; It was all because of me.
I knew she was in danger, it was so obvious. She has gone through the toughest times, in fact, it was me who had once made her go through hell but she never took any step to leave the pack or do any such thing.
Her sudden disappearance could not be normal. I knew Aria very well, I was aware of her thought process. And I was damn sure that she did not just leave the pack like this, her disappearance was not of her will.
My movements got rapid and my fists uncontrollably moved to punch the pillar over and over again.
"Hunter, stop!" My dad rushed toward me and tried to stop me but the rage and regret within me were too severe. The enraged beast inside of me was awakened and this time it was for no good.
"Stop it, Hunter. You are hurting yourself." My mother's horrified gasp was heard.
Nothing was enough to catch my attention or get my senses back. I was constantly getting crushed under the weight of the regrets and pain that stirred alive every time Aria's face flashed in front of my eyes, the sight of her tears came into my vision.
I had fucked up so bad. I'd thought I could keep everything under my control and once I reveal the name of the culprit I would tell Aria everything but everything went so bloody wrong.
What was I even going to do? I did not have any idea where she was, I did not know if she was even safe or not.
God! I was going to die if anything happened to her because of my mistakes.
I needed to get her back but how?! I was even unable to track her through the mate bond.
"It's all my fault," I landed another punch against the wall, the stinging pain, and bleeding knuckles were not even close to the storm that was destroying everything inside of me.
"Hunter, stop this bullshit!" Dad attempted to stop me but I yanked myself away from his hold.
"It was my duty to protect her," Another punch, "I failed her. I failed to protect her." I kept hitting and punching the wall, desperately trying to find relief.
"I failed us. I am a bloody failure!"
"Saying all of these is not going to save, Aria! Hunter." My mother shouted, "Hurting yourself is not going to help her get out of the unknown dangers she might be in. All it is going to do is to waste our time and make our chances to save her slip away from our hands one by one!"
Soon as the sentence left mom's mouth, my fist stopped in the midway of colliding with the wall.
For a moment, my mind went blank putting everything to halt for a moment.
"And if you really understand your mistakes then stop hurting yourself for no reason, own up for them and try finding ways to save her." Dad spoke up, loudly, "Stand up and fight for her instead of acting like a weak creature who can't even control his emotions let alone save his mate from the dangers."
Harsh. His words were harsh nonetheless they were true.
I needed to stay calm. I needed to stay strong not only for myself but for Aria too.
"Aria's Parents....we need to tell them the truth," I sighed out, closing my eyes tight and rubbing my forehead, "Jonathan put so much faith in me and I let him down once again."
"Hey, listen to me," Mom made me turn to face her, "We'll talk to them. Me and your dad, we both will handle everything. Don't worry about it, just focus on finding Aria. Okay?"
I nodded, sucking in a breath, and wiped my bloody knuckles over my shirt before I proceed to head out of the office.
"Your wounds...we need to dress them, Hunter. You can't let them be open like that." My mom stopped me.
"They'll heal, mom," I said, "Right now this is not important, I can't waste any more time. I need to go and get that Ashley to answer my questions, she is the only one who might know Aria's location."
"But..." I could tell she was on the way to try to convince me when Dad interrupted.
"Let him go, Olivia," He said, "He's going to be fine."
It was enough for my mom to not stop me anymore, she slowly let go of my hand and I strode out of the office the next second.
The rage and anger boiled inside of me with each second passing by as I rushed for Ashley's room and soon as her room came into my view, I barged inside.
The sight of her sitting on the couch with her legs crossed and peacefully sipping on a glass of wine unfolded in front of me.
My fists clenched, and every cell inside me was left shaken in fury. The beast was crawling up my skin, ready to emerge and tear this deceitful woman into mere pieces till there would be nothing left.
Even though she acknowledged my presence long ago, her statement came much later.
"Alpha, I was waiting for you," Her stare moved at me, and a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips, "Aria has disappeared, hasn't she." She leaned against the couch, seemingly aware of the entire situation.
This was it. All my restraints were gone in a second.
With my highest speed, I reached her within less than a split of a second and grabbing her throat, I raised her and slammed her body against the wall.
The glass dropped from her hand, causing the red wine to make a mess on the floor that was soon going to be a pool of her own blood.
