Chapter 43

Aria

I took the liberty to drag Hunter with me to my house so that I could get some toys for Violet.

Now, The oh-so-helpful Alpha was on my bed laying on the side propped up on one elbow as he watched me empty the trunk and get all my dolls on the middle of the floor whilst he solved a Rubix cube.

I released a sigh of relief as I watched all my dolls still remaining in the same state they were the day I'd stored them in this compartment.

"You really have too many dolls," Hunter exclaimed with distaste as he looked at the pile of dolls and stuffed toys I had taken out from my huge trunk.

"Excuse me?" I rested my hands on my hip, "Watch your tone, Mister."

"Fine," He rolled his eyes and focused on the cube once again.

I had thought he was going to stay silent for a while but my misconception was soon broken when he spoke whilst he watched me go through my dolls.

"Why didn't you just throw them away? What do you even do with so many of these anyways?" He seemed as though he was trying to control his laughter.

"And what problem do you have with my dolls?" I was offended, very very offended.

"I have got no problems," he shrugged, "But I think this a ridiculous number of dolls to actually own."

"Keep your thoughts to yourself!" I snapped, my eyes sending a glare in his way, "And for your kind information, this is not at all too much moreover I'll buy more if I want to."

"You'll buy dolls at this age? Don't you think you are a bit too old for that ?" A smirk tugged at his lips.

Did he just...

Did he just call me old?

Of course, he did!

"You..." I strode towards him and snatched the Rubix cube from his hand before I threw it out of the open window of my bedroom.

His mouth hung open at my sudden movement but before he could say anything, I pushed his chest so that he fell on the bed on his back and quickly straddled him to keep him locked on the spot.

I grabbed his jaw and leaned closer to his face, "What did you just say? I look old to you?"

He silently stared at me for a few seconds before a very known flicker passed through his green orbs.

"Yes, you do," He sneakily moved his hands to set on my butt and I realized his once he'd grabbed my buttcheeks leaving me yelping in shock.

"You are not that cute little Aria who always used to tie her hair in an adorable ponytail and cry over even the tiniest things," He began, a thoughtful smile tugged at his lips as he went through perhaps the memories.

My hand on his jaw began loosening its hold whilst the other one that rested on his chest tightened its grip on his navy blue shirt.

"You are a grown woman, now," He added, huskily, "And there are more things you can do rather than dividing your attention into these dolls.....much more things I could do to you." He moved his right hand and traced his fingers on my spine.

Curse the magnificence and tempting utterances of this man! I was so badly losing my calm already.

I tried

"Well...I have got these dolls stored because they hold memories but you seem to have other thoughts." I spluttered and tried to get off of him but guess what?

Hunter had something else in his mind rather than letting me go and gather my mess together— He flipped us with one swift movement. Now it was me who was laying beneath him, and it was him who was in charge.

Undoubtedly, He has always been in charge.

"You attacked like a hungry lioness and now you are trying to get away like a...Doe," He leaned closer, his hips were dangerously brushing against mine and my skin tickled under the warmth of his breath.

"Very interesting," He murmured and buried his head into the crook of my neck inhaling my scent before he began kissing down my skin.

I should stop him. I should stop him.

I sucked in a breath as the sparks shot through every inch of my skin. Hunter's touch was addicting, one stroke and he'd get me on the verge of losing it all.

No! I had to stop him.

"Don't forget that we are here to ..." My stuttering was cut off with a gasp of my own when he grazed his teeth on the sensitive skin below my ear.

I knew he was in no mood to stop or let me go because I could feel his hardness through his jeans.

"Hunter....we are here to get the dolls for Violet." I breathed out, it was hard to keep my breathing steady when the heat of my core was consuming me feeling Hunter's hardness right where I wanted him the most.

"Just because we are here for Violet's toys doesn't mean I don't get to play with.....my toy." Was his simple yet perplexing response.

I wanted to tell ask him to stop but the wetness that magically gathered between my thighs in this short period told another story.

"Hunter, stop it," I tried to make my voice come out stern and it did work at some point nonetheless it had no effect on my captor.

"And why should I listen to you?" His question came and his hand languidly moved to trace my breast from over my top.

"Because...." I tried to come up with any reasonable instance but his lips moving upwards kissing all the way to my neck did not help me much.

"Because?" He kissed my jaw triggering a delicious shiver to shroud my body.

Calm down, Aria! Don't be so desperate!

"Because we have plenty more works to do rather than messing with each other all day long," I blurted out and pushed him away so that he landed on the bed on his side and I could escape.

My plan worked.

Thank God!

I did not know how I had expected Hunter to react but as he saw me hurriedly getting down from my bed, all he did was let out an amused chuckle.

"Now, don't disturb me anymore. I need to get this done," I told him still somehow looking flustered, and crouched down to pick a few dolls and stuffed toys.

Of course, I couldn't take all these dolls to Violet—The rooms of the pack houses were not as big as mine on my own.

Amusement was written all over Hunter's face probability because of noticing my blush but thankfully he did not make the situation harder for me by any of his remarks and only nodded in response.

I decided to shrug all my thoughts off and began picking up the bigger dolls.

"Why don't you pick some of those smaller ones?" Hunter pointed at the small plush toys.

"Kids of Violet's age are usually fond of bigger dolls like these, the smaller ones won't get their interest." A giggle slipped past my lips.

"How could you be so sure?" He looked confused

"Because this is what most of the children tend to do, and even I used to like bigger dolls. Don't you remember that's how I liked you first because you used to be like a teddy bear and always there to cuddle with?"

I saw a flicker pass through his eyes and finally, a smile took over his lips telling me— He remembered.

"I still remember, how you used to cling onto me from childhood. You needed attention all the time." He chuckled.

"Pardon? You were not a saint either. You were more of an attention-seeker than me, sometimes you'd even fake a sickness if I played games with other kids."

Yes. He has always been like this— A tickling bomb to handle.

"Well, I have beaten up many of those kids too and that was the reason why some of them did not try to get to you again," He let out a laugh.

"You were always evil," I couldn't help myself from laughing and shaking my head I Picked up the last few toys.

These would be enough for Violet, to keep happy and content.

Unexpectedly I saw Hunter getting down from the bed and walking toward me. Well not me, to this pile of dolls he was complaining about even a few minutes ago.

He crouched down and picked something from the ground.

As he came up, I finally noticed what he had picked.

It was the doll he gifted me when I was ten.

"You still have this." He looked surprised, something flickered in his eyes.

Yes. I have always had it since the very day he gifted it to me.

"Yeah," I nodded tucking one of my hair strands behind my ear.

This doll held so many memories for me. The only memory that always reminded me of the old Hunter who used to be my best friend instead of my tormentor.

"I have hurt you a lot, Aria. Haven't I?" He asked out of blue, his tone roofed with melancholy.

Even though his words triggered all the bad memories, I shrugged them off without any delay.

I did not want to remember any of those— Those nightmares had passed.

"Yes, you have and I won't deny it to make you better but you might indeed be the reason behind all the torments I faced but it's you...who have given me the most beautiful memories." I stalked closer to him.

"And we have decided to not let the past affect our relationship, right?" I flashed him a smile, "So, let's not remember those and stay the way we are now."

A smile broke on his face causing my heart to flutter and butterflies to erupt in my stomach.

"Yeah, right," He attempted to put the doll down but I took it from his hand.

"Give it to me." I turned around and headed for the door.

"You are going to give it to Violet?" He asked, his voice sounding a bit low at the end.

I glanced back at him upon his question, "Who said that? I am keeping it for myself." This time I turned around and walked out of the room but Hunter's grin did not get unnoticed by me anyway.
