Chapter 22 Peeping on My Shower?
The truth seemed to be about to burst out, but Jennifer also felt confused.
If Jessica took William to the Whitfield family, why had she never heard anyone mention her in the Whitfield family?
What was her exact identity now?
Jennifer gritted his teeth and retorted, "The Whitfield family has good pay and benefits, and I get along very well with William. Why would I leave? Jessica, why are you so concerned? Could it be that my child’s father was Michael, and William is my child?"
…
"Dream on. With your cheap status, are you even worthy of bearing Mr. Whitfield's child?" Jessica was terrified and her nervous and scared emotions erupted like a volcano, she said, "I just want to tell you, if you offend me, even the Whitfield family cannot protect you."
"According to the contract, those who leave their post or switch jobs without the employer's consent are required to pay a penalty of 5 million dollars."
With that, Jessica smirked, "Either repay the money within half an hour or get out of the Whitfield family, otherwise you will be in prison for the rest of your life."
After saying these harsh words, Jessica cut the phone.
Jennifer's words just now were just a test for her. She didn't expect Jessica to be so nervous, which confirmed what she had in mind.
She didn't expect that the child she coincidentally saved could be her own.
No wonder William was so attached to her, it was probably the mother-son bonding.
Now, she just wanted to be a good home tutor for William and take care of him. She believed that the Whitfield family would give William the best.
As she was contemplating, she heard William's soft concern from behind, "Auntie, do you owe money?"
He had just come over and only heard something about repaying money on the phone.
William was very worried about Jennifer, looking at her with big eyes.
Jennifer quickly turned around and saw William, and her tears couldn't help but surge up. This was her child.
She had been thinking about him day and night, and she decided that she must find the child even if it cost her life.
Now, he was standing in front of her, saying words of concern.
Jennifer wanted to smile, but she couldn't.
Her eyes were red, and she wanted to tell William not to worry, but she couldn't speak with her mouth open.
William became even more anxious, thinking that Jennifer really couldn't pay back the money.
He stepped forward and grabbed her hand, saying, "Auntie, don't be afraid. I have money. I will give all the money to you right now."
"William!" Jennifer's voice was hoarse as she called out, holding him tightly in her arms, wishing she could merge him into her blood.
She knew she couldn't cry at the Whitfield family now, but she couldn't help it, tears streaming down.
"What's going on?"
Michael suddenly appeared, frowning as he looked at the two people embracing.
Jennifer quickly stood up, wiped her tears, and lowered her head, not daring to look into Michael's eyes. She said, "It's nothing."
She didn't want him to see her current state of distress.
Furthermore, he took her virginity. Just the thought of him having sex with her five years ago made Jennifer's heart race, not knowing how to face it.
Michael hated it when women cried.
But seeing Jennifer shed tears, annoyance turned into fury.
She was the home tutor of the Whitfield family, and only he could bully her. Who else dared to make her cry?
With a cold tone, he said, "Say it."
Faced with Michael's coldness, Jennifer couldn't come up with a lie.
She recounted the events, of course without mentioning Jessica.
"Crying over such a trivial matter? You are so useless." Michael said disdainfully.
…
Jennifer was at a loss for words, unable to explain herself. She cried not because she owed money.
These were tears of joy and excitement. She thought, “You clueless man.”
Michael impatiently waved his hand, "Alright, I will have Robby send the money over. You don't need to cry."
Then he added coldly, "You are so ugly when you cry."
It must be because her ugly crying was affecting his mood that he helped her to repay the money.
With this thought, Michael's mood improved, and he returned to the sofa to continue reading the documents.
Jennifer thought, “I’m ugly?”
Jennifer quickly caught up with Michael, holding onto William, "It's not necessary, and I will figure out the money myself. "
"What?"
Jennifer was about to say she would figure the money out herself, but she saw Michael's icy gaze piercing through her like a knife, so she quickly stopped and changed her statement, "I will repay you the money."
Michael snorted and averted his gaze, "Do you think I lack money?"
"So what do you want?"
Michael glanced over the documents and calmly said, "Let’s talk about it later."
Jennifer nodded, "Okay, whenever you remember, just let me know."
"Okay."
Michael's cold gaze drifted over again.
Jennifer shrank back in fear, giving a nervous smile, "Mr. Whitfield, I'll take William to paint first."
"Okay." Michael snorted and pardoned Jennifer's defiance.
Jennifer couldn't help but rub her neck, thinking to herself, “Mr. Whitfield was so cold. If I stay with him every day, I might get rheumatism.”
With the matter settled William continued to paint.
Jennifer pondered that William's birthday was approaching and she wanted to give him the best gift, and also give something to Michael, as he had helped her.
Thinking of this, Jennifer felt much better.
In the evening, holding acupuncture supplies, she went to Michael's room.
She gently knocked on the door, "Mr. Whitfield, I'm here to give you acupuncture."
"Mr. Whitfield?"
Jennifer knocked a few more times but got no response. She thought he must be busy reading documents and didn't notice.
Seeing the door was slightly ajar, she hesitated for a moment before asking, "Can I come in?"
She carefully pushed the door open, only to find that Michael was not in the room at all.
At that moment, the bathroom door suddenly opened, and Michael walked out wearing a bath towel.
The room was misty, with a warm light adding to the intoxicating atmosphere.
Michael had a strong body, and his stunning face had deep eyes.
With just one glance at him, she would be attracted.
"Mr. Whitfield, I..."
Jennifer had no idea that scene would greet her when she opened the door, and she blushed with embarrassment.
His mouth was half open, unable to say a complete sentence.
Even Michael did not expect to see Jennifer when he opened the door.
Jennifer’s helpless look was full of panic, inexplicably pitiful.
The usually composed Michael felt a burning sensation in his abdomen, as memories of that enchanting night five years ago flashed through his mind.
Although he had been drugged that night, once the effects wore off, he couldn't bear to let go of the woman in his arms.
A familiar sensation struck him, turning Michael's face stern with a single step toward Jennifer.
Jennifer panicked and quickly retreated.
With one step back, eventually, Jennifer found herself leaning against the door with nowhere to escape. She asked, "Mr. Whitfield?"
Michael gazed at her as if he were a leopard eyeing its prey, dangerously intense.
A few strands of hair, still damp from being blow-dried, hung down from his forehead, accentuating his cold and sinister face.
His thin lips parted, emitting a voice colder than ice, "Were you peeping on me while I was taking a bath?"
