Isla’s POV
My mother and I exchanged glances, feeling relief and exhaustion wash over us. We had done what was necessary to protect our pack and end Mrs Jenkins' reign of terror. Emma stepped back, her breath in ragged gasps as she tried to regain her composure. Sasha, always the calm one, approached Mrs Jenkins cautiously, checking to ensure she was indeed rendered powerless.
"You won't cause any more harm," Sasha said firmly, her eyes burning with satisfaction and caution. "We won't let you hurt anyone else."
Mrs Jenkins, her once confident demeanour shattered, glared at us with hatred and defeat. "You think this is over?" she sneered, her voice laced with bitterness. "You may have taken my power, but I will find a way to destroy you all."
I stepped forward, my voice steady as I faced this broken woman. "Your reign of fear is over, Mrs Jenkins," I declared, my voice filled with determination. "We will not let your hatred and manipulation hold power over us any longer. We are united, and we will prevail."
Emma, her anger still palpable, moved closer and looked directly into Mrs Jenkins' eyes. "You have underestimated us for far too long," she said, her voice low and full of conviction. "We are stronger than you think, and we will protect our pack no matter what."
With that, Emma stepped back, allowing Sasha to untie Mrs Jenkins, albeit with caution. We were not taking any chances. As the ropes fell away, Mrs Jenkins slumped to the ground, defeated and broken. She looked up at us with a mix of resignation and bitterness.
"I may be powerless now, but mark my words. You haven't heard the last of me," she hissed. "I will find a way to regain my strength and destroy all of you."
I shook my head, refusing to let her words instil fear within me. "Your threats hold no power over us anymore," I stated firmly, my voice brimming with confidence. "We will remain vigilant, and we will protect our pack and our future."
Sasha's eyes burned with determination and anger as she stood over Mrs Jenkins, who lay on the ground, powerless and defeated.
Emma clung to me tightly, her trembling body a testament to the emotional and physical strain she had endured throughout this ordeal. With a reassuring squeeze, I held her closer, silently conveying my pride in her bravery. It had been a long and arduous journey, but we had finally ended the reign of terror that Mrs Jenkins had inflicted upon our pack.
My mother circled Mrs Jenkins curiously, taking in the pathetic sight of her. “Perhaps the hybrids will be safer and no longer at risk.”
Sasha knelt beside Mrs Jenkins and scrutinised her. It was clear that her hold on the pack had weakened, but we couldn't afford to be careless. Mrs Jenkins had always been cunning and resourceful, and we needed to ensure no lingering threats. Sasha swiftly produced a piece of silver, a precautionary measure we had learned from our elders, and pressed it against Mrs Jenkins' skin. A silver burn mark quickly materialised, confirming that her powers had been neutralised.
"She won't be causing any more harm," Sasha declared, her voice filled with conviction. "But we should take her somewhere secure until we figure out how to deal with her permanently."
We set out to find a suitable location for Mrs Jenkins' temporary imprisonment, selecting an abandoned underground cellar deep within the forest's heart. Sasha bound her wrists with a powerful spell, ensuring she couldn't escape. The cellar was reinforced with substantial magical barriers, ensuring she couldn't use any residual powers to break free.
Moments later, Aaron came running towards us, his expression a mix of shock and concern. His eyes widened as he took in the scene before him, seeing Mrs Jenkins lying on the ground, bound and defeated.
"Esmeralda, Sasha, Emma and my Luna. I came as quickly as possible when I realised you were all gone. What happened?" Aaron gasped, his voice filled with disbelief. "Is she...is she finally captured?"
My mother nodded, her face displaying a mixture of exhaustion and satisfaction. "Yes, Alpha Aaron, we managed to neutralise her powers and secure her here," she explained, pointing to the underground cellar. "It was a hard-fought battle, but we finally ended her reign of terror."
Aaron's shock slowly turned into relief, and he approached Mrs Jenkins cautiously, his gaze assessing her thoroughly. It was clear that he had known the extent of her cruelty and the danger she posed to our pack. To see her finally defeated and rendered powerless was a moment of vindication for him.
"I can't believe it," Aaron murmured, his voice filled with excitement. "After all this time, you have finally stopped her."
We could see the weight lifting off his shoulders as he processed the reality of the situation. Mrs Jenkins had been a constant threat looming over our pack and neighbouring packs.
“This is the end of her.” he continued, smiling at me happily.
“But it isn't the end, is it.” I rubbed my belly and growled. Aaron turned to me, a glint of confusion in his eyes.
“What do you mean?” he stepped towards me and took my hand. I couldn't help but inhale his intoxicating scent. Cleo howled happily at having our mate close to us.
I took a deep breath, the weight of what I was about to propose settling heavily on my shoulders. "Aaron, we need to make sure justice is served. Mrs Jenkins has caused so much pain and suffering, not just to our pack but to many others as well. We can't let her escape without facing the consequences of her actions."
Aaron's brow furrowed in contemplation, his eyes searching mine for guidance. "You're right," he finally said, his voice filled with determination. "We can't just imprison her here and leave it at that. A trial is necessary to ensure she is held accountable for everything she's done."
