The woman freaked out when she heard Kenna mention calling the cops and yelled, "You can't call the police! I just threw cat pee on you. Even if they come, they can't do anything to me."

Kenna sneered, "I'm calling the cops to deal with this. Let's see if they won't do anything. If you had the guts to throw something at me, you better be ready for the fallout. I don't know what your problem is, but you should've thought about the consequences before acting out."

"If I had any other choice, I wouldn't have come to you." The woman sobbed, "What am I supposed to do? You seduced my husband. Now he wants a divorce, and I don't have a job. How am I supposed to survive without him? What else could I do but lash out at you?"

"Your lack of options isn't my problem. I'm not paying for your mistakes." Kenna had already called the police, and they arrived quickly to take the woman away.

Since Kenna was involved, she had to go with them to give a statement.

"I'm really sorry about today. I didn't mean to scare you. Please don't tell Michael about this. He'll definitely call and chew me out, blaming me for dragging you into this. Don't worry, I'll get to the bottom of this and give you an explanation." Kenna assured Isabella before leaving.

Isabella quickly said, "I'm fine, but you should go back to the office and take a shower first."

"No, this is evidence. I need to finish giving my statement before I can clean up." Kenna insisted.

Isabella awkwardly nodded.

Kenna really didn't sweat the small stuff, standing there confidently despite being covered in cat urine! She didn't care at all about her reputation as the most beautiful woman in Silvercrest City.

"You're really brave." Isabella said softly, her eyes full of admiration.

Kenna just smiled calmly, as if it was no big deal.

After parting ways with Kenna, Isabella got into her car and, still feeling uneasy, sniffed her arm before quickly asking Penelope, "Do I really not smell?"

Penelope replied, "No, Ms. Jackson is really brave. She didn't even know what it was and still shielded you. If it had been acid, it would have been a disaster."

"Someone like Kenna would never do something like that. That woman must have misunderstood her and acted impulsively without knowing the truth. It's really too much." Isabella said indignantly.

"Ms. Jackson is so capable, she'll definitely handle it well. You don't need to worry about her. Where should we send the next gift?" Penelope asked.

"To the branch office, for Eric and some of our former colleagues." Isabella replied.

When she suddenly visited the branch office, her former colleagues were all very happy to see her.

However, Eric wasn't there. A colleague told her that Eric hadn't been in for two days.

"Got it, thanks." Isabella said.

She called Eric, and he answered quickly.

"I'm at home. Come over." Eric said.

Isabella had the driver take her to Eric's place. He still lived in the same apartment and opened the door to let her in.

"This is a gift we brought back from our vacation." Isabella said, handing him the gift as she entered.

Eric took the gift and thanked her, "Thanks."

"Eric, are you okay?"

Eric didn't look well. He had lost a lot of weight in a short time.

She knew about Victor's situation and figured it must have affected him.

But she thought their father-son relationship wasn't that close, so it wouldn't have a big impact. She didn't expect it to affect him so much, making him look so haggard.

"It's not because of my father." Eric explained. "It's just that there's been too much going on lately, and I'm exhausted."

"Is there anything I can help with? Don't hesitate to ask," Isabella quickly offered.

Eric's eyes flickered, and he coughed lightly before saying, "How's Olivia doing?"

Before Isabella could answer, a noise from another room startled her. She quickly asked, "Is someone else here?"

Eric nodded, "I brought my mom back, but she's not in a good state. Sorry if she scared you."

"It's fine. Can I say hello to her?" Isabella asked.

Eric nodded and went inside to have a servant bring Electra out.

Electra indeed didn't look well. She was very thin, as if she hadn't had a proper meal in a long time, and looked like she had been mistreated.

Her eyes were vacant, and she didn't focus when she looked at Isabella, clearly showing signs of mental issues.

"She's not well mentally, but she's not aggressive." Eric explained.

Isabella raised her hand and waved, greeting, "Mrs. Allen, hello."

Electra seemed frightened and quickly hid in Eric's arms. "Eric, I'm scared."

"It's okay, Mom. This is my friend. She won't hurt you." Eric gently reassured her.

Isabella had never seen Eric speak so tenderly before.

He patiently comforted her until she finally relaxed.

Eric then took her back to her room and had a servant stay with her.

"I know I should send her to a mental hospital, but I can't bear to. She's suffered too much." Eric said with a bitter smile.

Isabella comforted him, "Having her with you makes her feel safe. It's better for her to stay with you."

Eric was silent for a moment before speaking in a low voice, "I asked about Olivia because I really miss her. But given my situation, please don't tell her anything. Don't say a word."

"Why?" Isabella asked.

She knew that if Olivia heard about Eric's situation, she would definitely feel for him and come back to Silvercrest City to be with him.

"Olivia is a kind and pure girl," Eric explained with a bitter smile. "Taking care of my mother is my responsibility. I don't want her to suffer because of my misfortune."

"Eric..." Isabella looked at him sympathetically, not knowing what to say to comfort him.

"Please go. Thank you for the gift." Eric said with a bitter smile.

Isabella felt extremely sad.

In the car, thinking about Eric's situation, her heart ached.

After some thought, she sent Olivia a long message, detailing what had happened to Eric recently, including Victor's death and Electra's condition.

Isabella knew that although Olivia had left Silvercrest City, she had never forgotten Eric.

Eric's current situation was something Olivia needed to know. Whether she decided to return to Silvercrest City and be with Eric was up to her.
