Chapter 387 No Reconciliation
At the police station, Kenna was adamant about not letting it slide.
"Do you think I care about my reputation? As a woman and an executive, getting drenched in cat pee in front of my own company and being called a homewrecker? You think I can just let that go?" Kenna snapped at the mediator.
The officer tried to calm her down. "Look, she's just a woman who's been abandoned by her husband, with two young kids to take care of. Her life is already tough enough. Please, try to forgive her, Ms. Jackson..."
"Forgive her? Her miserable life isn't my problem. Why should I forgive her? You weren't the one who got soaked. How about you let her soak you and see if you can forgive her?" Kenna shot back, her voice icy.
The officer, feeling awkward, replied, "I didn't ruin anyone's marriage. Why would she soak me?"
"Is her husband here?" Kenna asked, her tone sharp.
The officer nodded. "We've contacted him. He should be here soon."
"When he gets here, you'll see if I ruined their marriage." Kenna scoffed.
She couldn't believe there was a man in Silvercrest City who could match her.
Soon, a man named Cameron arrived.
From a distance, he looked like a ball, with a fat head, small eyes that were barely visible, and a belly that looked eight months pregnant.
Kenna was stunned. She hadn't expected Cameron to be so unattractive!
The officer was also taken aback. Seducing a man like this? Unless Kenna had vision problems.
He awkwardly laughed and said, "It seems there was indeed a misunderstanding."
Kenna sneered, "With a husband like him, he's a perfect match for his wife. Bring that woman here. I want to ask her face-to-face if any woman other than her would want a man like him."
The officer, feeling helpless, quickly brought the woman over.
The woman, named Delilah, rushed to Cameron, hitting and crying, "You heartless man, you finally came to save me. I gave you children and took care of your parents, and this is how you treat me."
"Stop crying. I want to know what happened. How did you end up at the police station?" Cameron demanded.
Delilah shouted, "You want to divorce me for a mistress. Do you have any conscience?"
"What did you do to her?" Cameron asked, feeling horrified.
Seeing his concern for his Kenna, Delilah cried even harder, "Even now, you're worried about her. You don't care about us at all. I might as well be dead."
"Enough!" Kenna's angry shout silenced Delilah's wailing.
The officer and mediator had tried to calm Delilah down several times, but she wouldn't listen. Thankfully, Kenna's shout did the trick.
"Who are you?" Cameron asked Kenna in confusion.
Kenna scoffed and looked at Delilah. "See? Your husband doesn't even know who I am. If I were really his mistress, wouldn't he recognize me?"
Delilah, sensing something was wrong, quickly asked Cameron, "She's not your mistress?"
Cameron looked disgusted. "She was so skinny and average-looking. Why would I be interested in her?"
Kenna was furious. Not only had she been drenched in cat urine, but now she was being insulted?
So what if she was skinny? This guy, who looked like a bloated watermelon, had the nerve to criticize her?
Feeling deeply insulted, Kenna refused to back down. "Detain both of them."
"Ms. Jackson, I'm sorry. I misunderstood. I didn't mean to. Please, for the sake of my children, forgive me." Delilah pleaded.
Most people might feel sorry seeing Delilah's pitiful state, but Kenna was not most people.
She coldly watched Delilah's incoherent apologies and sneered.
Delilah, embarrassed, glanced at Cameron.
"You wouldn't misunderstand for no reason. You know what kind of person your husband is. I know someone put you up to this. Tell me who it was, and maybe I'll consider not holding you responsible. Otherwise, I won't let this go. You and your husband will regret crossing me." Kenna threatened coldly.
Cameron panicked. He didn't know what was going on, but it was clear Kenna wasn't an ordinary person.
Cameron quickly turned to the officer. "Aren't you going to do something? She's threatening us."
The officers turned away, pretending not to hear.
Given how ugly the couple was, bullying a capable and beautiful woman like Kenna, it was a wonder she hadn't hit them.
"You idiot, tell the truth. What's going on?" Cameron, seeing the police wouldn't intervene, angrily kicked Delilah, demanding she speak.
Seeing Cameron not on her side and Kenna determined to pursue the matter, Delilah was scared.
She reluctantly explained.
She had known about Cameron's mistress but didn't dare confront him since she didn't work and only took care of the kids. But she was always resentful and depressed.
Then someone approached her, offering money to confront Cameron's mistress, providing Kenna's information.
At first, she doubted Kenna was Cameron's mistress, but the money was too tempting to refuse.
So, regardless of the truth, she went ahead. The person had suggested using acid, but she didn't dare. Instead, she collected cat urine from her pet and used that.
"We communicated online. I don't know who she is." Delilah explained, feeling wronged.
Kenna snorted. Just as she suspected, nothing new. "I'm leaving. You handle the rest. Remember, no settlement."
Kenna left, leaving her lawyer behind, giving final instructions with a cold face.
The lawyer nodded.
Delilah was stunned. Realizing what was happening, she shouted, "Didn't you say you'd forgive us if we told the truth? Why won't you settle?"
Kenna, at the door, turned back arrogantly. "I said I'd consider it. I considered it and decided I can't tolerate being doused with cat urine. People must face consequences for their actions. That's what makes the world fair."
