Chapter 470 Visiting
Chapter 470 Visiting
"Terry, what the hell are you doing here?" Wesley snapped.
Terry ignored Michael, who was kneeling on the floor, and strolled up to Wesley with a cheerful grin. "Just checking in on you, Mr. Johnson. How've you been feeling these past few days? You actually look pretty good. Something good happe?"
"You quack!" Wesley shouted, banging his cane on the floor in fury. "What part of me looks like I'm in a good mood? Can't you see I'm about to explode with rage? If your grandfather, with his top-notch medical skills, knew about your incompetence, he'd rise from the dead to strangle you."
Terry chuckled and replied, "Mr. Johnson, my grandfather was cremated. Even if he were furious, he couldn't rise from the grave to strangle me. At most, he'd just scatter some ashes."
Wesley was so angry he couldn't speak, clutching his chest and gasping for air. A nurse quickly handed him a fast-acting heart pill.
"Terry, what are you trying to pull?" Michael staggered to his feet and confronted Terry in a low voice.
Terry whispered back, "I'm just trying to let Mr. Johnson blow off some steam. Trust me, I'm a doctor. I wouldn't harm him."
Michael glanced at Wesley, who indeed looked a bit better than before.
Terry nudged Michael lightly. "Why are you standing up? Get back on your knees!"
Michael glared at him, speechless.
Terry immediately complained to Wesley, "Mr. Johnson, was I wrong to make him kneel? You didn't tell him to get up. I was just reminding him, and he glared at me."
"Terry's right. Get back on your knees," Wesley ordered coldly.
Terry smirked. "Mr. Johnson also wants you to kneel. Keep it up, and soon you won't need those legs. Joshua will be back soon, and the company will go to him. You can live a miserable life with Isabella."
"What do you mean, his legs?" Wesley shouted.
Michael was about to kneel again when Wesley barked, "Wait! Terry, explain yourself."
Terry walked over and explained, "Mr. Johnson, his legs were frostbitten years ago. If he keeps kneeling, he could end up crippled or even need an amputation. But you still have another grandson, Joshua, who's much more obedient."
Wesley's eyes widened in anger. "Even if I had a hundred grandsons, he's the only heir to the Johnson Group. Check his legs immediately. Are they okay?"
"Don't worry, Mr. Johnson. I'll take a look." Terry quickly agreed.
He turned to Michael and ordered, "Sit down and roll up your pants so I can see your knees."
Michael reluctantly rolled up his pants, revealing his bruised and swollen knees. Wesley, leaning on his cane, inspected them closely and saw how serious it was.
Wesley scolded him, "Why didn't you say anything?"
Terry pretended to gently touch Michael's knees but pressed hard, causing Michael to wince in pain.
Terry turned to Wesley. "It's really serious. I'll take him for treatment."
"Make sure you treat him properly. No lasting damage," Wesley urged.
Terry nodded and helped Michael up, ready to leave.
Michael pushed Terry's arm away and said to Wesley, "You haven't forgiven me yet. Even if I lose my legs, I'll keep kneeling."
Wesley, both angry and frustrated, gritted his teeth. "I told you to get treated first. Why are you being so stubborn? Don't come to see me for a while. Out of sight, out of mind."
"That's not possible," Michael insisted. "You're my grandfather. I have to see you. You need to learn to let things go."
Wesley was speechless. Was it wrong for him to be upset? This ungrateful grandson wouldn't even let him be sad.
"Mr. Johnson, Michael's right. It's not like they can't have children. It's just a matter of time. Look at me, I'm the same age as Michael, and I don't even have a girlfriend."
Wesley felt a bit better hearing that. He waved them away.
"How did you know I was here? And why did you come to save me?" Michael asked as soon as they stepped outside.
Terry shrugged. "I had some business here today and ran into Isabella at the entrance. She told me you were being punished."
"Isabella's here? Where is she?" Michael asked urgently.
Terry replied, "She's waiting for us over there."
But when they reached the spot where Isabella was supposed to be, she was nowhere to be found.
"Where's Isabella?" Michael asked anxiously, his phone confiscated by Wesley. He asked Terry to call her.
Terry dialed Isabella's number twice before she answered.
"Dr. Castillo, I'm at the old wing. Can you come over?"
"Why are you there? Okay, wait for me. I'm coming."
Terry hung up and told Michael, "She's at the old wing. Why would she go there? Does she not love you anymore?"
Michael found it odd too. That wasn't like Isabella.
They were in the new wing, which was quite large, so Terry called for a shuttle to take them to the old wing.
"How did Isabella get here from so far away?"
The shuttle ride took nearly half an hour. Michael was curious how she managed to get there.
"Yeah, your wife sure can run," Terry grumbled.
Despite his complaints, they were both shocked by the state of the old wing.
The area was overgrown and littered with leaves, in stark contrast to the new wing. It was like comparing a wealthy neighborhood to a slum.
"I didn't expect your facility to have such a rundown area," Michael sneered.
Terry coughed and explained, "The old wing isn't bad. Maybe the cleaning staff slacked off. I'll address it when we get back. Even if the buildings are old, the place should be clean."
"Looks like Dr. Castillo hasn't been here in a while, so he's clueless about the situation."
"Why would I come here? The new wing is where I work. The old wing is mostly for people who can't be cared for at home and can't afford a nursing home. There are hardly any issues here, so I don't need to come."
"Call Isabella," Michael urged.
The area wasn't large, but shouting might not be effective.
Terry called Isabella again to ask where she was.
Soon, Isabella appeared from an upstairs room.
She looked down at them, then hurried down and said urgently, "Come with me upstairs."
