Energy Channeling

Energy Channeling
\-Matilda-

My heart stirred, impatience growing as I sat in the living room, my hands twisting in my lap, my eyes flicking to the clock, waiting for Aunt Helen to speak about her discussion with Alpha Hartman.

Why is she silent? Twenty minutes had passed since her return, her steps slow as she moved around, her face calm but distant.

The coincidence of his visit, right after our hospital chaos, felt like a deliberate push from fate, urging me to uncover more.

My patience thinned, my curiosity burning, and I stood, walking toward her, my voice soft but firm. "Aunt Helen, I can't pretend I'm not asking anymore."

She looked up, her smile faint, as if expecting my words, her hand gesturing to the couch beside her. "Come sit with me, my dear." Her tone was warm, inviting, and I settled next to her, my posture tense, my eyes searching hers.

She turned to me, her voice gentle. "I wanted your curiosity to lead you to ask, and it did."

Her explanation puzzled me, my brow furrowing. "Why do that?" I asked, my voice curious.

She leaned closer, her tone thoughtful. "Because this talk needs your mind ready, to grasp the difference between feelings and duty." Her words intrigued me, my heart steadying as I listened, my hands relaxing in my lap.

"Alpha Hartman is a fallen leader who rejects prophecies unless they serve him," she began, her voice steady. My interest spiked, my body leaning forward.

"He's Sofia's father, and he wants you to stay away from Blake because Sofia and Blake are promised to each other." Her revelation hit hard, anger surging, my fists clenching.

How dare he dictate my life? My joy with Blake felt threatened, my mind racing with defiance.

"Who does he think he is?" I snapped, fury blazing. "What did you say?" I asked, my voice urgent, my eyes locked on hers.

She smiled faintly, her tone calm. "I told him to sort it among his people. It's not your concern." Relief washed over me, satisfaction warming my heart, my lips curving.

"What did he say then?" I pressed, curiosity flaring. Her expression darkened, her voice grave.

"He disagreed, made threats. Hartman never bluffs." Worry crept in, my head bowing, my hands pressing my forehead, fear mixing with resolve.

He won't stop me. She placed her hand on my shoulder, her touch reassuring. "We'll overcome by strengthening your powers." Her words ignited hope, my eyes lifting, my determination matching hers.

"When do we start?" I asked, eagerness surging. Her smile returned, her voice firm. "Now, and we'll ensure nothing stops you and Blake."

My heart raced, excitement and fear mingling as I sat in the living room with Aunt Helen, her calm presence a steady anchor, her hands gesturing gently as she explained the basics of my powers.

Aunty Helen brought some candles and they were seven in number and they were all white, except for one that was red in color.

She placed them down in circle and asked me to sit in the center of the candles, but my curiosity was fixed on the one candle with a different color.

"Why is that one red?" I asked with my finger pointing towards the red candle.

"It signifies your rage, it must be controlled and it is when you have control over it; you can handle everything." Aunty Helen explained calmly.

Why does this feel so right yet terrifying? My blouse was slightly damp from earlier nerves, my toes curling against the rug as I listened.

"Start with breathing," she said, her voice soft, guiding, her eyes meeting mine with encouragement.

I nodded, my breath deepening, my hands resting on my knees, focusing inward.

The coincidence of her expertise, arriving just when I needed training, felt like a fateful gift, pushing me toward mastery.

My chest rose and fell, my mind clearing, but doubts crept in. Can I really control this? She placed her hand on my shoulder, her touch warm.

"Feel the energy, let it flow, not force it." Her words were simple, but they stirred something deep, my body responding, a faint warmth building in my palms.

I closed my eyes, my breath rhythmic, my fingers tingling slightly, the power awakening slowly.

"Good, now imagine a small flame," she instructed, her voice steady, her hand squeezing lightly.

I visualized, my heart pounding, the heat growing, my hands warming further. "Open your eyes," she said, her tone proud.

I did, shock surging as soft fire danced in my palms, harmless, controlled. My breath caught, awe mixing with joy. I did it!

"See? You're learning," she said, her smile bright, her eyes gleaming. We continued, her guidance patient, my attempts improving, my confidence building with each success.

"Now, try healing a small cut," she said, pricking her finger lightly, blood welling. My pulse quickened, nerves flaring.

What if I fail? I focused, my hands hovering, the energy channeling, the cut sealing slowly.

Her praise warmed me, her voice encouraging. "You're a natural." The session deepened, my body tiring but my spirit soaring, the power feeling like an extension of me.

"Rest now," she said, her hand patting my back. But my mind raced, eager for more. Why does this come so easily?

The coincidence of my quick progress, right after Blake's recovery and alpha Hartman's visit felt like the spirits accelerating my path. We paused, her voice turning serious.

"Your strength is unique, but control comes with practice." I nodded, my resolve firm, my hands flexing.

I'll master this. As we resumed, a surge hit, light bursting brighter, my control slipping, my breath hitching.

"Calm yourself," she said, her voice steady, her hand on my arm. I steadied, the light fading, my heart steadying.

The training continued, my progress steady, her teachings weaving into my being, my confidence growing.

"You're ready for more," she said, her smile proud. My heart swelled, but doubt lingered. Can I face what's coming?

The door knocked suddenly, startling me, my hands clenching. Who's that? Blake? I stood, my steps quick, opening the door, my eyes widening at the unexpected visitor.
