Clash Of Wills
Clash Of Wills
\-Helen-
My heart raced, alarm surging as I recognized Alpha Hartman at the door, his presence a storm cloud, his sharp eyes locking onto Matilda with a chilling intensity.
Trouble has arrived. The coincidence of his visit, right after Ozedin's warning, felt like a fateful collision, urging me to protect her at all costs.
My face stayed calm, my voice steady. "What brings you here, Alpha?" His sly smile grated, his tone smooth but menacing.
"I came to see the one I've heard about." My instincts screamed caution, my mind racing to shield Matilda from his intentions.
Why is he targeting her now? I turned to her, my smile gentle, masking my unease. "My dear, wait inside. I need to speak with Alpha Hartman."
Matilda's eyes widened, concern evident, her voice soft. "Aunty, are you sure?" I nodded, my smile unwavering, urging her to trust me, my heart aching at her worry.
She hesitated, her steps slow as she retreated inside, her glance back filled with unease.
The moment the door closed, I faced Hartman, my tone firm. "Let's walk, Alpha."
My expression hardened, my steps deliberate as we moved away from the apartment, my hands clasped tightly, my resolve set.
Why does he dare come here? I turned to him, my voice sharp. "Why are you here?" His eyes gleamed, his question pointed.
"That young lady is your niece, right?"
I nodded, my tone steady. "Yes, she is. What about her?"
His face darkened, his voice low. "She's crossing a line. My daughter is betrothed to Alpha Blake, and she's interfering."
My heart steadied, processing his words, my silence deliberate, my mind weighing his accusation. He's protecting Sofia's claim.
"I hear you, but you haven't answered why you're here," I pressed, my eyes narrowing, my patience thinning.
His gaze turned cold, his voice blunt. "Tell her to stay away from Blake."
His demand sparked irritation, my voice calm but firm. "Is this the right way to handle this?"
He frowned, his tone sharp, arrogance seeping through. "What do you mean, Helen?"
My resolve hardened, my words measured. "This is a matter for your people to resolve. What if Blake is pursuing her?"
His eyes flashed, his voice rising. "I don't care. Tell her to keep her distance."
His order ignited my anger, my tone sharp. "Hartman, hunters don't take orders from your kind."
His face twisted, his voice a growl. "Are you challenging me?" My glare matched his, my fury burning, my voice cutting.
"Don't let emotions cloud you. This isn't politics, it's life, a prophecy unfolding. Don't be foolish." His anger flared, his words venomous.
"Damn the prophecy. I don't believe in lies. I choose my path and my people's. Tell her to stay away or face my wrath."
My heart pounded, defiance rising, my stare dangerous. "Your wrath? Do you know who she is?"
His sneer was defiant, his voice harsh. "I'll crush anyone in my way."
My voice lowered, my words fierce. "You're in for a battle you'll lose. She's the one hunters, past and present, will bow to. Only the Alpha king can stand near her."
Shock flickered in his eyes, my words striking deep, but he recovered, his voice raging. "I don't care about lies. I'll bring fire, and you know how dangerous I am."
He turned, storming off, his steps heavy, leaving me stunned, my heart racing, Ozedin's warning echoing. The war is here. I must prepare Matilda and Blake.

\-Alpha Hartman -
My mind spiralling with thoughts, resolve hardening as I stormed away from Helen, her words echoing, her defiance a spark to my fury.
This is no trivial matter. The weight of her claims about Matilda and the prophecy stirred unease, but I pushed it aside, my mind fixed on my goal, Sofia's marriage to Blake, my path to reclaiming my lost honor.
A fallen Alpha cannot falter now. The coincidence of Helen's bold stand, right after I arrived in Sydney, felt like fate challenging my will, urging me to act decisively.
I reached for my phone, my fingers swift, dialing Blake's number, my steps quick on the pavement, my suit slightly creased from the day's tension.
The call rang, unanswered, my jaw tightening. Why isn't he picking up? I dialed again, my patience thinning, and this time his voice came, curt.
"Alpha Blake, how are you?" I asked, my tone calm, masking my urgency.
"I'm doing great," he replied, his voice clipped, offering no warmth. My instincts sharpened, sensing his distance. He's guarding himself.
"I'm in Sydney. I'd like to meet," I said, my voice steady.
"Send me your location. I'll see you tonight," he answered, his tone flat.
"Alright," I said, ending the call, my mind racing. This must end before it grows.
Hunters and their prophecies won't ruin my plans. My legacy depends on this marriage, my redemption tied to Blake's power.
Arriving at my guesthouse, my eyes caught Sofia waiting, her posture tense, her face troubled.
My heart softened, her distress pulling at me. "My beautiful baby, why are you here?" I asked, stepping out of the car, my voice gentle.
She stayed silent, her eyes downcast, worry etched in her expression. Why is she so shaken?
"Let's go inside," I said, my tone firm, guiding her in, my hand on her shoulder. We settled in the living room, my steps slow as I sat across her, my smile calm, reassuring.
"Dad, can we take that girl out today?" Her question stunned me, her desperation clear, her voice trembling. She's breaking under this.
I kept my smile, my voice soothing. "We don't act recklessly, my dear. I'm meeting Blake tonight, and I'll fix this." My words were confident, my gaze steady, but her doubt lingered, her voice soft.
"Dad, I'm scared. The way Blake looks at her, he's never looked at me like that. Words won't change it." Her fear pierced me, her uncertainty new, unsettling.
She's never doubted me before. "Have I ever failed you?" I asked, my tone firm, my eyes searching hers. Tears welled, her voice breaking.
"No, but I'm so scared."
My heart ached, but my resolve hardened, my voice rising, fierce. "I'll do whatever it takes, even if it means taking someone out." I stood, pacing, my fists clenched, my anger surging.
My honor is at stake, my redemption within reach. No hunter, no prophecy will stop me. My legacy will shine with honor.
