CHAPTER 57
Third Person's POV:
"He will find you and kill you in the worst way possible," Kaylee promised.
"Who? Your so-called 'boyfriend'? The bastard's father?" Erthan asked, laughing. "He doesn't know I am involved. He will not even come here to rescue you, babe. Chicago told me you were just another whore to him," he said, and Kaylee couldn't help but leave, even in this situation.
"Then I guess Chicago played her game well," she replied.
"Who played her game well?" Chicago came in, smirking.
Kaylee turned towards her, seething in anger. "You snake," she spat at her.
Chicago laughed out loud and bent towards Kaylee, looking into her eyes. Chicago's smile then vanished. "It was all good until you came. It was all planned," she said venomously.
"Why did you betray Massimo?" Kaylee asked because she was afraid she wasn't going to survive this time, so before she died, she wanted to have all of the answers.
Chicago laughed out loud like a maniac. "I didn't betray him. No, I didn't. Who I actually played the game with was Cane. Poor guy. He thought I loved him all this time. But how could I love a third-in-command? I had my eye on Massimo this whole time, and to get to him, I had to go through Cane," she said while smiling. "Tsk. I even had to abort his baby. It wasn't planned, though."
Kaylee gasped when Chicago said she had aborted her own baby. "How could you! It was your baby too," she yelled at Chicago. She felt anger in her veins. She felt sad too. How could a mother kill her own child? Kaylee couldn't even think about doing it. Her baby's life was at risk, and she couldn't bear thinking about it. How could this puttana (whore) kill her own child?
"Oh, c'mon. I will kill anyone who comes between me and my love, Massimo. And because you came in between us, I will kill you in the worst way possible," Chicago whispered, coming closer to Kaylee.
Erthan frowned when he listened to what his partner was saying. "You can't do that," he said, coming closer to her. He grabbed Chicago's shoulder and pushed her aside as he approached Kaylee.
"Oh, I can, and I fucking will," Chicago said through clenched teeth.
Erthan turned back towards her and pointed the knife at her. "You see this? I will cut you into small pieces if you don't get the fuck away," he said.
Chicago held her hands above her head as if she were surrendering. She took a few steps back, and Erthan came closer to Kaylee and cut her ropes. He held her face in both hands after freeing her. "You just have to go through little pain to get rid of this bastard. Then, we will live happily ever after," he said.
Kaylee rubbed her hands together. They were shaking from fear for her unborn child. She felt movement behind Erthan and looked behind him to see that Chicago was at the far end of the room, pointing her gun towards Erthan. Kaylee's eyes widened. She thought, 'This is it. This is where my life ends.'
Erthan looked at Kaylee's facial expression, confused, and turned around to see what she was looking at.
"Bye bye," Chicago said and waved at him. His face went pale. Kaylee shut her eyes tightly, not ready for what was coming next.
The gunshot rang throughout the basement. Kaylee yelled, still not opening her eyes. She held her hands securely around her stomach as she heard yelling and Chicago screaming—
'Wait. Chicago?' Kaylee thought and opened her eyes to see the woman lying on the ground, her hand bleeding. Chicago was screaming as she looked at her hands.
When Kaylee looked up, she saw Massimo and Marco. A cry of relief left her lips, and she began to bawl. Massimo lowered the gun in his hand that he had just used to shoot Chicago and turned to look at Kaylee. Running towards her, he fell on his knees in front of her and hugged her as his eyes grew red. Marco called for some of his men to carry Chicago out, but before they could, more gunshots sounded outside the room. Marco and his men ran out.
Kaylee looked at Massimo and held his face in her hands, her tears constantly flowing. "I was afraid," she cried loudly.
"Shhh. I am here," he soothed her, kissing her forehead and hugging her tightly. "I am sorry. I am so sorry," he chanted.
The two were lost in their own little bubble, so engrossed in each other that neither of them noticed Erthan sneaking towards the table at the far end of the room. He grabbed a gun and aimed it at the couple.
Suddenly remembering that the danger wasn't ever yet, Kaylee looked around for Erthan. She wasn't sure what had happened to him. But it was too late.
Before she could even find Erthan, Kaylee heard two gunshots sound very close to her.
Massimo yelped at the pain and almost fell onto Kaylee, hissing. It was like everything was happening in slow motion. She looked down at her hands, which were wrapped around him. They were drenched in blood… Massimo's blood.
"No, no, no," she said, at first softly and then in a yell.
When she looked up, she saw Erthan smirking. He prepared to shoot again when she pulled the gun from Massimo's hand, which was going limp by now, and in seconds, she had emptied the magazine into Erthan. One bullet hit his shoulder, and one lodged into his stomach. "Aghh!" he yelled after the first shot.
Marco rushed back in with his men after hearing the gunshots. There, they saw Massimo slowly dying. His men picked him up and took him away to God knew where.
Kaylee didn't follow. Instead, she stood up and walked towards Erthan. Her eyes were dangerous, and tears were running down her face. She moved closer to him, picking up the butcher knife along the way.
Erthan grew scared. Blood oozed out of his mouth as he moved backward.
"How dare you? How FUCKING DARE YOU!" Kaylee screamed and, wielding the knife in both hands, brought the blade down with full force onto Erthan's right leg.
He screamed loudly, but Kaylee didn't stop. She kept hacking at the man on the ground, the source of all her sufferings. Erthan was lifeless now, but she didn't care. She continued stabbing him, driving the knife into his heart.
"Agghhhh!" she screamed until her voice broke. She stabbed the knife through the middle of his head, splitting it in half. "You were a curse that I ended today," she cried, backing away.
Domenico, who had been watching Kaylee at some distance, slowly approached her once he was sure that she was done. He grabbed her arm and turned her around. When she saw who it was, she hugged him tightly and cried her heart out.
"I killed him." Her voice was wet and hoarse.
Domenico hugged her back awkwardly.
