CHAPTER 21

ABBY POV.

“Please trust me in this.” He said pleadingly and I nodded. “Okay, I will stand with you.” I spoke and the words were barely out of my mouth when his lips came crashing onto mine. Butterflies danced in my stomach and I kissed him back. Marcus pulled back to look at me. “We are meant to be together; we just need to convince the other alphas of this.” He said before taking my hand and helping me out of the hospital bed. I still didn’t quite understand what he was talking about. But I knew I would learn in time. How was I a wolf in the first place? Did my parents know? Were my parents also like me? if so, then why keep it a secret from me… Those questions drifted through my mind as stood up. I expected my body to ache from running and falling in the woods, but I felt fine. Even my arm wasn’t painful anymore. It only had a dull ache and it was itchy.

Marcus helped me with my shoes and just when we reached the door, he stopped and turned to face me. “When we step out of this room, people are going to stare at you…” He said and I felt my nerves flutter in my stomach. “Because of the type of wolf that I am?” I asked and he shook his head. “No, they don’t know what you are yet.” Markus said. “My father is the one who went after you in the woods and saw you stand your ground with that wolf. He swore those who were with him to secrecy.” He said and I suddenly felt like a scandal being hidden away. “Okay, but why would they stare then?” I asked as I tried to shake off this shameful feeling. He looked at me and a smile pulled at the corner of his mouth before he took the side of my face in his hand. “Because by now everyone knows that you are my mate.” He said and he caressed my cheek with his thumb. I closed my eyes at the feeling of his touch and opened them again to see him bending his head to kiss me. My lips tingled at the touch of his lips and I barely noticed when my uninjured arm came up the front of his chest, neck and my hand slid into his hair. I made a throaty sound and I suddenly felt myself being pressed against the wall next to the door. I gasped but he took this as his chance to stick his tongue in my mouth and kiss me and I kissed him back just as hard.

How was it possible to be this turned on so fast? A few minutes ago, I found out that I was a werewolf and that my parents could be werewolves too but all that melted flew from my mind when Markus kissed me. I whimpered needily when he pushed his hips into mine and I brought my one leg up to wrap it around his hip, to feel more of the hardness of his cock that was barricaded in his pants.

Markus’s hand fumbled with the hem of my shirt and was about to lift it up when the door suddenly opened. I squeaked in surprise as it felt like a bucket of cold water came crashing down onto my head. Markus growled in annoyance as he remained where he was, shielding me from whoever just come in and was apparently not leaving.

“WHAT?” Markus growled at the person and I swallowed at the tone. It was so animalistic and yet so… I mentally shook my head as I slowly let down the leg that I had wrapped around him. “Sorry to bother you, young alpha.” A woman’s voice spoke from the door. I recognized her voice; it was the doctor from earlier. She didn’t sound sorry, more amused at what she came to find.

“Your father has asked me to come and get you.” She said and Marcus’s chest heaved with a dejected sigh. “Tell him, we will be out in a moment.” Marcus said and I heard the door close again. I couldn’t help it… I burst out laughing and he looked down at me before a smile pulled at his lips too. “Come on, before he sends a hunting party next.” He said and pulled me from the wall.

I righted my clothes. I felt my cheeks were still flushed when Marcus opened the door and he stepped aside to let me walk out first. He was right. I thought to myself when the room went quiet and all eyes turned on me. I bit my lip nervously and I was contemplating whether to run back into the room when I felt Marcus’s arm wrap around my waist. “Don’t you have anything better to do than to stare?” Marcus barked at them and they immediately started to pretend to be busy with something else. I released a breath slowly between my lips and looked up at Marcus. He gave me an encouraging smile before he led me to the exit.

Outside was a car waiting for us and when we approached, a familiar long-haired blond guy got out of the car and flashed me a wide smile. “It’s you!” I said and gave him a smile in return. “I’m glad to see that you are alright.” I spoke and he nodded his head. “Yes, and I’m glad to see that you are back on your feet.” The man said and I nodded before turning to Marcus who was watching us interact. “Marcus, this is the guy that saved me when I got here.” I said and he smirked. “Yes, I know. He told me everything.” He said and he held out his hand to the man and they shook it in greeting. “Abby, this is my future beta, Mac Gacey. He is also my best friend.” Marcus said and my eyebrows shot up in surprise. “Beta?” I asked and Marcus smirked at me before he explained. “When I become alpha of the Blue Moon pack, then Mac will be my second in command.” He said and I made an oh with my mouth.

“Well, it is nice to officially meet you, Mac.” I said and Mac made a gracious curtsy with a bow of his head that made me giggle. “Come on.” Mac said as he opened the rear door for us to get in. “Your father is waiting and I haven’t seen him so agitated in a long while.” Mac said as we climbed in the car. When we started to drive away from their little wolf hospital, I spoke again.

“What happens now?” I ask. “First, we have to speak to my father then we have to confront your parents. He said and he took my hand. “I know this is going to be hard, but they have to explain why they kept this from you and why you never got your wolf when you turned sixteen.” He spoke. I thought about this and I suddenly remembered something when my sixteenth birthday came around. “I remember now that my mother acted very strange when I turned sixteen.” I spoke up and Marcus watched me as I spoke. “I wanted a sweet sixteen party with my friends but my mother refused.” I said, thinking back. “We went camping in the woods in the middle of nowhere.” I said as I thought back to that memory. “My dad said he had to work so my mother insisted that she and I drive up to the camping spot first and then my dad and James would join us the next day.” I said and sighed. “I remember James being mad at being left behind.” I spoke as the pack house came closer. “I was just so angry to spend my birthday in the middle of nowhere that I stayed in my tent the whole night while my mom sat around the campfire.” I said and Marcus nodded. “She was waiting for you to shift.” He said and I looked at him curiously. “What?” I asked.

“I don’t think your mother took you camping so that you wouldn’t party with your friends… I think she took you out there to keep them safe from you if you would have shifted.” He said and it suddenly made sense and that was when another realization dawned on me. “So that means… my mother is a werewolf.” I said and Marius nodded. “From what you just told me, I am convinced of it and the fact that your father stayed behind and kept James from going with you… the he is human.” He said and I nodded. What he said made sense. “The only thing we have to find out now is who your mother really is.” He spoke. “What do you mean? I asked and a thought crossed my mind.” Do you think she could have run away from her pack to be with my father? I asked and he shrugged his shoulders just as the car came to a stop in front of the big house. “That is one of the possibilities, yes.” He said as he climbed out and held out his hand to me to help me out of the car.

Our attention got caught when hurried footsteps came towards us from the house. “Father?” Marcus started to speak, but seriousness entered Marcus’s demeanor before he started towards his father. “What’s wrong?” Marcus asked and the alpha’s eyes darted to me before addressing his son.

“The Violet Moon pack knows!”
