Chapter 51 Mia's Trouble
The ward door was locked, but you could still hear the occasional footsteps of nurses and doctors passing by outside.
Sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm yellow glow in the room. The smell of disinfectant was strong, making the place feel anything but private.
Arnold lay on the hospital bed, and Vera was the one taking charge. She climbed on top of him and kissed him.
Her hand slipped into his pants, finding him already hard. She started stroking him, a bit awkwardly, but it was enough to make Arnold let out a low groan.
It wasn't about her technique; it was just that Vera had a way of getting his hormones going. His voice was deep and sexy, and Vera wanted to hear more. She teased the tip of his penis with her fingers.
"You..." Arnold groaned, barely able to handle the sensation.
"You're the one who seduced me," Vera said playfully, blinking innocently.
Arnold's eyes darkened. "You better not regret this."
He flipped her over, pinning her beneath him.
She was startled, asking, "Aren't you injured?"
"One hand is all I need to handle you," Arnold said, biting her collarbone.
He grabbed her legs, his fingers brushing over her clit.
"Are you wet?" he asked in a low voice.
Vera blushed. "Aren't you reacting too?"
"Yeah, with you, I always react quickly..."
Arnold's straightforward nature and good looks made his dirty talk seem more sexy than sleazy.
He was right; his strength was enough to hold Vera's waist with one hand and play with her. The occasional sounds from outside made Vera's nerves tense.
The mix of desire and excitement made her even more sensitive. She tried to stay quiet, covering her mouth as she accepted his vigorous thrusts.
Arnold removed her hand, kissed her lips, and silenced her almost overflowing moans.
After they finished, Vera rinsed off in the bathroom. Just as she came out, there was a knock on the ward door.
Vera pushed Arnold away to open it.
Ivor stood there, looking around the room.
Something was off. His eyes kept darting between the two of them. "What were you two just doing?"
"If you don't have anything else to say, zip it," Arnold snapped, back to his usual authoritative self.
Ivor shrugged. "The surveillance footage was found. Luckily, Vera asked me to check it. The disk was damaged right after I copied it."
Vera said, "Looks like someone did it on purpose."
She remembered the middle-aged woman who had hurried away. "When I was getting Arnold to the ambulance, I saw a middle-aged woman walking quickly. She was going the opposite way of the crowd, so I paid more attention."
Ivor shrugged. "It's okay, even without the surveillance, we can still figure it out. It'll just be a bit more troublesome."
Arnold spoke up, "No need to investigate. I think I know who did it."
Thinking of someone who recently had a grudge against them, Vera asked, "Auburn?"
Arnold nodded. "Yeah, let's head home first. Charles should be waiting for us."
Ivor looked a bit put out. "Hey, I came all this way to bring you the news, and you're just going back like that?" He glanced at Arnold, rubbing his chin.
Why was he feeling so jealous? They used to be bachelors, rich and good-looking, fighting for territory and goods. Now with a gorgeous woman and a child around, Arnold seemed complete, while Ivor was feeling so alone.
"I'll treat you to dinner next time," Arnold said.
Ivor clicked his tongue, watching the two walk away. ' Fine, I'll go find a girlfriend too.'
Once in the car, Arnold glanced at his phone before saying, "Bert's wedding is next week. As Bert's aunt, aren't you planning to attend?"
Thinking of the woman from last time, Vera said, "Your mother probably doesn't want to see me."
"You mean Mia?" Arnold's smile faded a bit. "Don't mind her, she's not my mother."
"Is she causing trouble for you?" Arnold's expression turned cold.
"She..." Vera hesitated.
The driver in the front said, "Mrs. Pierce kicked Ms. Garcia out of the villa."
"Don't listen to Mia anymore," Arnold instructed.
"Okay." Vera didn't ask further, just happy to be by Charles' side.
That day, Vera moved back to Arnold's villa.
Upon hearing the news, Mia was so angry she dropped a cup. "He doesn't even consider me his mother."
"No mother rushes to be someone else's mistress," David said coldly.
"You..." Mia was so angry she couldn't speak. She had no status in this family at all.
Didn't David cheat before too? Why was she the only one being blamed? That bitch Vera.
"Arnold is so outstanding, she is not worthy of him at all," Mia said angrily.
David put down the newspaper and took off his reading glasses, revealing sharp eyes. "How noble do you think your status is?"
As soon as he said that, Mia trembled, clutching her hands tightly.
David said coldly, "Don't cause trouble for Vera anymore."
Mia replied, "I understand."
