Chapter 291 291

Chapter 291 291
Luna
Oscar has been missing for over three hours. Alex broke down his bedroom door, which was locked from the inside, but he wasn’t there. We thought maybe he jumped out the window, but it’s over twenty meters high. It made no sense.
Then suddenly, Angy appeared in Zeldric’s office saying she’d found him and he was ready to go after Jackson Black. I didn’t even see him before he left—and truthfully, I’m not sure I wanted to.
I stay in the background while Angy leads the group of men we’ve sent after the ex-soldier. I’ve already done my part by tracking him down—and it wasn’t easy. The hacking software Ana gave me helped a lot. I went through the FBI files and found several identities he used while evading justice. Then I had to cross-check names with nearby hotels, apartment rentals from the past few months, even receipts from restaurants or food delivery services.
He’s supposedly working with Samuel—or at least met with him to sell explosives—so he couldn’t have gone far. I spent all night going through every record, searching every corner while Oscar was off… God knows where… with that damn blonde.
I inhale deeply and focus on the screen showing the team’s location. They arrived at the apartment rented under one of Jackson Black’s identities less than two months ago. Jenkins stands beside Angy, issuing orders through the mic like a true leader. She’s great at improvising plans, and Zeldric knows how to make the most of that for the clan.
“Send two men to the rooftop and keep another two at the entrance in case he tries to escape.”
“Understood.”
Oscar’s voice comes clearly through the speaker, and something twists in my gut.
I never should’ve told him what happened to me as a child. I’d never told anyone before—I thought maybe he…
I shake my head and try to focus on the red dots moving on the screen, tracking our team’s exact positions. But I can’t erase his expression from my mind. I don’t know what I expected—pity? Disgust? Compassion? Anything but the fury and rage that was all I saw in his eyes.
“Oscar, be careful with the fire escape. It could be a possible escape route,” Jenkins warns.
“Don’t worry, I’ve got it covered,” he whispers.
A few seconds later, there’s a loud noise and heavy breathing.
“Come here, you son of a bitch!”
Zeldric steps closer, a lit cigar between his lips and a deep frown on his face. More scuffling, footsteps, and a groan.
“Oscar, report,” Jenkins commands.
“We’ve got him.”
A collective sigh of relief echoes in the office.
“I’m taking him to the mansion. We’ll be there in less than an hour.”
“Copy that. We’ll be waiting,” Jenkins replies and ends the transmission.
Jackson Black is a damn arrogant jerk with rich-boy vibes. His dark hair is neatly styled, his eyes are light-colored, and he wears tight black pants and a matching fitted T-shirt. He doesn't lose that cocky smile or smug posture even as Pablo and Oscar tie him to the metal chair in one of the basement cells.
"Is this it? The great Clan Z? I was expecting a bit more violence."
Oscar growls and shoves his shoulder hard as a warning. A bruise is starting to show beneath his well-trimmed beard. If I had to guess, I'd say it came from one of Oscar’s punches. Other than that, he doesn't have a scratch on him. I have to admit, he's pretty handsome.
"I’m not here to play games," Zeldric says, walking up to the cell with his usual threatening posture. "Tell me where Samuel Sandoval is, and that’ll all be over soon."
"Sammy? We met last night to drink and screw some whores. When I see him, I’ll tell him you said hi."
Zeldric gives a sharp nod, and Oscar smirks before slamming his fist into Jackson’s cheek.
"Let’s start again." Oscar steps aside to let Zeldric get closer. "Kid, don’t try to screw with me. Many have tried, none succeeded." He grips Jackson’s shoulder and crouches to meet his gaze. "We know you sold him subcutaneous explosives. Tell me how many he has and what he wants them for."
Jackson moves his jaw from side to side, checking if it still works, then grins again.
"What do I gain by ratting out a partner?"
"You get to keep your teeth," Oscar hisses.
Jackson looks at him and shakes his head.
"Let’s not kid ourselves. You’re gonna kill me as soon as I open my mouth. So my best shot is to stay quiet and wait for Samuel to negotiate my release—which he will, trust me."
"What makes you think that traitor would take a risk for you?" Zeldric asks.
"He wants something I have. And so do you. Kill me, and none of you get what you want." He settles back in the chair and grins again.
"Give me an hour, and I’ll make him sing like a bird," Oscar mutters.
Zeldric shakes his head and gestures for him to follow. Both of them walk over to where Jenkins, Angy, Alex, and I are standing, near the staircase.
"I don’t want you touching him," Zeldric whispers so Jackson can’t hear.
"I’ll make him talk," Oscar insists.
"If what he said is true, Samuel might show up at any moment—and then we’ll get him."
"You believe him?" Alex asks with a frown. "That stinks like a bluff from miles away."
"You got a better idea?"
"I do," Oscar jumps in. "Let me handle him and—"
"No," Zeldric cuts him off. Oscar presses his lips together and exhales sharply through his nose. "Right now we need brains over brawn."
"If you say so…" Alex mumbles.
"Exactly. I say so."
"Since my opinion means shit, and now that Luna's back, we’re heading to the estate. We’ve got no business here."
"Not yet," Zeldric replies.
Alex scoffs loudly, and his brother immediately shifts into a defensive stance. Another fight between them is brewing. Everyone can sense it.
"You’re Luna, aren’t you?" Jackson speaks up, and I turn my head toward him. "Samuel’s told me about you—his little sister." He drags his gaze over my body, and his smirk widens. "He didn’t mention the blue hair or those delicious tits. If it’s true you’re easy, I’d like to throw my name in the ring."
