Chapter 223

Chapter 223
"You knew?" I gasped.
"Of course. How else did you think I knew where those documents were? You think my dad will leave a video for you and not for me." Blair snorted, rolling her eyes.
"So you know um... you know the crimes he committed," I whispered, rubbing my arm.
It was good Victor was able to explain everything to her. At least she wouldn’t be taken by surprise when the whole thing blew open. I couldn’t imagine how traumatizing it would be if she found out from the press.
"They aren't even serious. So what if he murdered your parents? At least he didn't kill you too," she scoffed, and I blinked.
Wait...
I stared at her as the words sunk into me.
"What?" I breathed and shook my head. "Please tell me that you didn't say what I think I just heard."
Because it couldn't be. Blair was a brat, but surely she still had a heart.
"I mean, you actually can't blame him for killing them. If they had just handed over Midas' Touch just like Grandpa said, shit wouldn't have ended up like that. It was their fault for being so fucking stubborn. They had it coming," she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Their fault…
Stubborn…
They had it coming…
Something snapped in me, and my vision turned red.
"Are you seriously fucking kidding me?!" I yelled, glowering at her, and she flinched. "Victor murdered, I mean, fucking murdered two innocent people and kidnapped their child because of his greed, and somehow it's their fault! Can't you hear yourself?! Is your heart really that twisted that you don't have empathy, or are you just so stupid that you don't have basic common sense?"
"D-don't insult me," she stuttered and cleared her throat. She straightened up and glared back at me. "Fine, I guess it wasn't nice that he did that, but that was like forever ago. And he still raised you, so you have to give him credits for that."
"For what? For almost twenty years of abuse? For treating me like a slave while reaping the benefits of my parents' hard work? He even stole from me just like he stole from them!"
"Look at it from the positive side; it was all character-building. Now you have a rich dick you're riding on and all the money you don't need. You're who you are because of him, so I think you should be grateful," she retorted, shrugging her shoulders.
This little bitch!
"Character building! You call what he did character fucking building!" I yelled, jabbing my finger into her shoulder, and she winced. "Don't fucking tell me about character building, you fucking dumb brat! And don't tell me I am where I am because of that man you call father. The reason I'm not dead right now is because I dared go against him."
"Gosh, you're so dramatic. I can't believe you're acting so hysterical because of people you don't even know because they're your ‘real’ parents.” She huffed, doing air quotes with her fingers. “Dad made a big mistake by keeping you alive. He should have bloody let you burn like he did to your fucking useless parents. Then he and Mom wouldn't have died because he went against Paul. You and your parents ruined my fa—"
Slap
My palm collided with her cheek, the sharp smack echoing through the room, and she stumbled back, almost falling down.
"You hi—"
Slap
I smacked her other cheek, and this time she collapsed to the ground.
"How fucking dare you!" She cried, face red, as she rubbed the sore spots.
I crouched and grabbed her jaw, digging my fingers into her skin.
"To think I ever hoped there was a sprinkle of good in your heart, but I was too blind to see it was all dark and twisted. You support your daddy because you are just like him. The apple doesn't really fall too far from the tree. You're both cruel, twisted demons in human flesh," I said, my voice cold and sharp.
"D... don't dare insult my father," she stuttered, trembling and blinking back her tears. “He’s a good, k—"
“Good?! Don’t make me laugh. He’s cruel, heartless, and despicable; just like you. I'm not surprised that you're jealous of me. It's how he was jealous of my mother too. You and your father are talentless, covetous leeches that only know how to steal without a bit of shame." I spat, drawing her face closer to mine. "And just like he is dead to me, you are too. I don't want to ever see your disgusting, greedy face near me or my family again. Especially my daughter, Jill. I will do everything in my power to make sure she doesn't turn into the horrible, cruel person that you are. Nothing ties us together any more, so stay out of my life. Do you understand?"
"I... I... how d-dare you in... insult and abuse me like... like this? I'll sue you for harassment," she sobbed, bawling her eyes out.
"And I'll make sure you lose everything you own. In case you haven't realised, all the inheritance your daddy left for you was gotten from Midas' Touch, and when I get the company back, I have the right to legally contest everything you own as compensation for what he did to me. I could leave you penniless and poor," I threatened, and her eyes widened.
"You... You can’t do that! You can’t! No! No!" She shrieked, throwing her fist at me, but I caught her wrist.
"I could dare, but I won't because I know you won't survive, and even though I want to be wicked, I have a heart." I replied, pushing her face back, and I stood up straight.
"You... you're evil! You only pretend to be good, but you're evil!" she sobbed, kicking her legs in the air like a toddler, and I looked down at her, my face scrunched in disgust.
"I wish you all the best, but may our paths never cross again, Blair," I said, strutting out of the room.
"I hate you! I... I hate you very much! I wish you evil! I cursed you, Iris! You—"
I shut the door behind me and pressed my finger to my temple, letting out a shaky breath.
How could I expect remorse from her? She was really her father's daughter, through and through.
And I didn't need that type of toxicity in this new phase of my life at all. After this court case, I just wanted peace and quiet with my new family.
"Good riddance, Blair." I muttered and made my way to the new room Jill was transferred to.
I opened the door, and my eyes grew wide at the woman standing beside Gordon.
"Irene!" I gasped.

Blair has so much potential to be a future villain if the story were longer.
