Chapter 111 Divorce Agreement
Arthur's face darkened slightly as he said coldly, "What more evidence do we need? Don't you understand she has no reason to do this?"
Elizabeth sighed helplessly. "Of course I understand, but the police don't!"
She certainly believed Aria wasn't that kind of person. Aria was still thinking about the divorce - she really had no reason to do something like this.
Arthur gradually calmed down, looked at Elizabeth, and said slowly, "Where is she now? At the police station?"
Elizabeth nodded gently. "I'm not sure exactly, but probably."
Arthur's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Who called the police?"
It hadn't been that long, yet Aria had already been taken to the police station. Arthur had a bad feeling about this - there was probably something fishy going on.
Elizabeth shook her head. "Not sure. As soon as you got hurt, we rushed you to the hospital. I don't know who handled things after that or who called the police."
"Did the police come to the hospital?"
"Yes."
Arthur frowned. "This has nothing to do with her. I'll have someone bail her out!"
Seeing Arthur so insistent, Elizabeth sighed softly. "Alright, but shouldn't you tell Sophie about this first?"
"No need. Aria is innocent!"
Arthur firmly believed Aria was innocent. She just wanted to divorce him right now - she would never do something like this at such a critical moment. It would do her no good at all!
As Arthur spoke, he grabbed his phone and contacted his assistant, instructing him to take people to bail out Aria. His movements were swift and decisive.
After Arthur finished the call, Elizabeth seemed to think of something and asked, "Why did you think to have Aria arrange your wedding? Were you afraid she wouldn't know about it?"
This was a question Elizabeth had wanted to ask for a while.
When she heard Sophie say today that Aria had done the wedding venue setup, Elizabeth was shocked. She really hadn't expected both husband and wife could be so careless.
"The hotel arranged it. I only found out later."
Arthur rubbed his temples irritably.
"Alright then. But I need to warn you - after today, all the issues between you two are probably going to be out in the open."
Elizabeth thought for a moment before reminding Arthur. Arthur understood, of course, but understanding was one thing - facing it was quite another...
News of Arthur sending people with money to bail out Aria quickly reached Sophie's ears.
When Sophie learned about this, she sneered inwardly. Arthur really didn't take her seriously. If that was the case, then she needed to add more fuel to the fire!
Sophie made a phone call and instructed coldly, "Send me a copy of that evidence I had you prepare earlier."
Just as she hung up, Connor pushed the door open. Seeing Sophie's changing expression, his eyes turned cold. "What? Arthur still won't give up?"
"Yes! He's still trying to pay bail for Aria!"
Sophie nodded and told Connor about the situation with a cold laugh.
Connor just laughed coldly. "Since he won't let go, we'll help him make a clean break!"
"Right! And what about the company, Dad? How's that going?"
Connor nodded calmly. "Don't worry, everything's going as expected."
"Good."
Aria had only been at the police station for a short while when Lance and Lucy arrived.
After Lance arrived, he first went to Officer Young, offering money to bail out Aria. The officer initially refused, so Lance called his superior directly. After one phone call from above, Officer Young had no choice but to agree to release her.
"Ms. Hall, you can't leave the country for the next few days. We may need to contact you at any time."
Aria nodded calmly, unconcerned. "Officer Young, don't worry, I won't run. I hope you can investigate this quickly and clear my name."
Officer Young responded, "Naturally."
Aria turned her gaze to Lance and smiled slightly. "Let's go."
"Why didn't you call me first? If Lucy hadn't contacted me, I wouldn't have known about this."
Lance hadn't seen the news about Arthur's wedding, so naturally he didn't know about any of this.
When Lucy called him, he didn't think twice and rushed over immediately. Fortunately, Aria hadn't suffered any mistreatment.
"It's fine. I think there's something fishy about this whole thing."
Only after leaving the police station did Aria share her thoughts with Lance.
Lance nodded, expressing his own thoughts. "I think there's a problem too. Don't worry, I've already got people looking into it."
"Okay, thank you, Lance."
"No need to thank me. So what are you planning to do now?"
Aria was silent for a moment before saying, "I've already contacted a lawyer. I'll have him draft divorce papers shortly."
Seeing that Aria had made up her mind, Lance nodded in agreement. "Alright. If you need a better lawyer, I can help you with that."
"Okay, I'll let you know if I need it."
Just as Aria and Lance left the police station, Arthur's assistant arrived with the money. As soon as he stated his purpose, he was told that Aria had already been bailed out by someone else.
Hearing this, the assistant didn't dare delay and immediately called Arthur.
"Mr. Grant, Ms. Hall has already been bailed out by a Mr. Gray."
"What? When?"
Arthur's words carried heavy displeasure.
The assistant was somewhat frightened. "Just before I arrived, they had just left."
Arthur's end fell silent. After a long while, he finally spoke. "I see."
Hearing the dial tone from the phone, the assistant's heart was far from calm.
Arthur was equally unsettled at that moment. He hadn't expected Lance to move so quickly, bailing out Aria before he could.
Damn it!
Elizabeth, watching Arthur's annoyed expression, sighed softly. "Since she's already out, that's a good thing. Why are you angry?"
Arthur didn't respond, just remained silent.
Seeing Arthur like this, Elizabeth sighed deeply. With his temperament, she didn't know how Aria had put up with it before.
"You should go back. I have a nurse here with me, so there's no problem."
There were some things Arthur didn't want his mother to know too much about.
"Alright."
Not long after Elizabeth left, a man arrived.
"Hello, are you Mr. Arthur Grant?"
Arthur paused at the words, looking at the man somewhat confused. "Yes?"
"Hello, I'm Ms. Aria's legal representative. I'm Victor Reed."
Victor greeted Arthur.
Arthur's brow furrowed sharply, and an ominous feeling crossed his mind. Aria's legal representative? What was she trying to do?
"What is it?"
"It's like this - this is the divorce agreement that Ms. Hall commissioned our law firm to draft. Please review it, Mr. Grant."
