Good For You

Good For You
MIRABELLA

Morning came as quickly as I'd hoped and this time, I waited for Cam to get ready and dropped him off at school. He flashed me a smile of gratitude before getting out of my car and afterward, I zoomed off to school.

I had two classes today but I planned to stay for just one. From what Aiden sent to me yesterday, Lucas would be at The Kings' by twelve and my second class was going to end around that time. I needed to get back home, get ready and be at the club before Lucas arrived.

It would be the first time in my life to ditch a class but I convinced myself that I would make up for it once I got Lucas to be mine.

I met up with Aiden who was waiting for me outside the class and just when we were about to go in, I saw Nova.

I swallowed my pride and said, "Hi, Nova."

However, she rolled her eyes at me and rather smiled at Aiden as she waved at him. I stared at Aiden and saw him smiling back at her, it seemed he really did like her.

I watched her strut into the class and inwardly cursed, "Nova, you bitch!"

I avoided making eye contact with her while I was in class and struggled to pay attention, something which came naturally to me in the past.

After the first class, I told Aiden that I wasn't feeling too well and wanted to go back home and rest.

He stared at me in disbelief, "You are going to stalk Lucas and you want to lie to me about it?"

I smiled in embarrassment as I realized it was foolish of me to lie to someone who knew me too well.

"Come on, Ella," he said. "I know you are attracted to this guy but the Ella I knew before wouldn't miss a class even if she suddenly became crippled.

You can still meet him after your class. I will not support neglecting your studies for something that will most probably not work out."

I stared at Aiden with a frown, hurt that the one person I expected to encourage my happiness was bursting my bubble.

"I'm sorry, Ella. I did not mean to come off as being too blunt," he apologized when he noticed my expression. "I hate to be the one to tell you that you're going on a wild goose chase. Just forget about him."

"See you tomorrow," I replied and walked away from him.

When I got into my car, I opened my gallery and stared at the one picture I had with Lucas' face on it. I had cropped out Nova from the picture after saving it from her pictures on social media.

I ran my fingers on my phone screen as I said, "Lucas, I'm going crazy for you. Please give me a chance."

I quickly drove back home and began to get ready. I realized my parents didn't go to work today but I was too busy to ask them about it.

After getting dressed in a decent, yet sexy black gown that hugged my body and revealed my curves, I applied some makeup to my face, wore one of the new black shoes I had gotten, and came out of my room while holding my bag.

My parents were in the living room, sitting beside each other on the couch, and they stared at me in surprise when I came out. My Mom couldn't contain her curiosity and asked, "What's a girl without an interest in a boy looking so beautiful and sexy for?"

I was thinking about a reply when my dad said, "Just let her be, darling. She will tell us about it once she's ready. What matters is that we will get to spend more time with each other."

I stared at both of them and scoffed as my Mom smiled and replied, "You never seem to get enough, do you?"

My Dad ran his palm over her hair as he said, "I can't help it. Not when I'm married to the hottest woman on the planet."

My mum chuckled, "You say the sweetest things, Angelo."

"That's because I'm crazy about you," my dad replied.

"I just have a few words for the both of you," I cut in.

My parents finally took their eyes off each other and stared at me as I said, "You are both shameless."

As I walked out of the house, I heard my parents laugh and say, "We love you too, princess."

I got into my car and quickly drove to The Kings'. I thought about my parents and smiled. I knew they were aware that I was low-key envious because that was exactly the kind of life I wanted, filled with love, simplicity, and laughter. I was determined to get it with Lucas.

My parents probably thought I was going on a date and it was better for them to think so. There was no way in hell I was letting them know that I was going to stalk Mr. Lucas Keeler.

I got a text message just as I killed my engine and saw that it was from Aiden and it read, "I'm sorry if I offended you with my words. Do what makes you happy and I'll be here rooting for you."

Aiden was really sweet. This was why he was my best friend, because he knew how to make me feel better.

"I love you too," I quickly texted back before coming out of my car.

I met one of the people I was familiar with and he was amazed at how beautiful I looked.

"You are so tall and beautiful," he remarked. "Your dad doesn't play today, so what brings you here?"

I sighed, knowing I had to come clean to some extent if I was going to find out the information I wanted.

"Will Mr. Lucas Keeler be playing today?" I asked the young man who stared at me in surprise."

"Yes," he replied and I sighed in relief.

A lie suddenly came to mind and I said, "I need his help with something that concerns my dad, that's why."

He nodded thoughtfully as though he understood and showed me where to sit.

I waited for twenty minutes and from where I stood, I had a good view of all the cars that drove in. I finally noticed his car and my heart skipped a beat.

I quickly got up and looked for a place to hide as I tried to remind myself of what I had planned.

When he got closer to where I was hiding, I pretended to be on the phone and deliberately bumped into him.

I fell on my back but he made no move to catch me. I picked up my phone that fell beside me and cried out as though I was in a lot of pain.

He finally reacted and said, "I am so sorry my dear," reaching out his hand to help me.

I held onto his hand as he pulled me up from the ground and just the way he smelled made me feel weak in the knees.

He stared at me in surprise as he finally recognized my face and I pretended to recognize his as well.

"OMG, it's you?" I asked.

He wanted to walk away but I quickly got in front of him and said, "I am so sorry for what happened yesterday. I am really not an irresponsible driver.

I had a chemistry test, and I was late for it and that led to what happened. I know it's not an excuse but I'm very sorry. Please, let me make it up to you."

"It's fine," he replied. "Just forget about it."

"My name is Elle, by the way," I said and stretched out my hand for a handshake.

He stared at my hand briefly and back at my face.

"Good for you. Please excuse me," he said and walked away, leaving my hand hanging in the air.

I took my hand back and stared at him sadly as he walked away. He was rude just like his daughter but he was so hot.

I stared at my hand which held his when he helped me up from the ground. I placed it over my nose and closed my eyes as I inhaled with longing.

When I opened my eyes, he was gone and I just stood there wondering if I would ever be held in the arms of Lucas Keeler.
