Chapter 20 I feel good!
Chapter 20 I feel good!
Vivian
By the time we finally decided up call it a night, I was so elated. I was no longer feeling down or angry about the job interview.
“Goodnight,” I said to Brad as I went into my room.
Who could have thought it was the same Brad that I always gave attitude that would be there for me tonight? If it weren’t for him, I don’t know what would have happened to me. I might have gone crazy because I was so overwhelmed. It felt like that night all over again when Nathan broke up with me and my world came crashing. That was how it felt as I walked in that rain, all soaked, no money and trying to get a way home.
Brad made me feel so vulnerable and I don’t even feel bad. I don’t think it was a mistake, if anything, it was the right thing to do because he helped me.
Now I am back to my happy self and I can now go to bed. I jumped in and my phone beeped almost immediately.
It was my masked man and a gasped escaped my throat once I saw his message. We had agreed to talk when I get back from the interview but I was lost in the whole drama that I forgot all about him.
“Did you finally make up your mind about getting rid of me? I’m freaking out here with no way to get to you. Please text me as soon as possible!” I smiled the second time I read the text.
“I’m so sorry about tonight. The interview didn’t go way, it went so wrong and I don’t even have the right words to describe it. Can you believe I got back home drenched in the rain and sick? It was a pure nightmare! I don’t even have the words right now.” I replied.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I’ve been checking here all day, hoping to see a message from you. Each time that I got nothing, my heart sank. We really have to meet soon, you know. I can’t take not having a solid means to reach you. What do you say?” He replied and I smiled.
It’s not like I haven’t thought about it too because we’ve talking for a while. And one thing I’m eager to see is his face. He already saw mine, I don’t know if he still remembers though. He says he does but I’ve learnt not to believe everything a man says. Most times, they are just saying things they know the woman wants to hear. Just give it time, and you’d get to find out their real stance about the same topic.
“I don’t know. I’m ready whenever you are.” I replied and it came back with a jumping emoji.
“What about tonight then? Maybe I can get to kiss those soft sweet lips again.” He replied and somehow, a shiver rain through my body and I found myself blushing hard.
“That’s just the rain, you’d better not take it seriously,” I quickly cautioned myself but I still couldn’t control it.
I read the text again and it pulled me right back to that night. That kiss was truly magical. A chaotic one though, but it was sweet through and through.
“Now I know you don’t really want to see me, you’re just saying that to get me anticipated. If you really meant it, you wouldn’t say tonight because you know it’s not possible.” I replied.
“It’s not possible? Says who? I can be in your room on the bed with you right now if you will let me. Send your address and see if I would not be there in a flash!”
I read that about three times and couldn’t stop laughing out loud. He really has his way around words, I have to give him that.
“Well, I remember clearly that you told me that a magician doesn’t reveal its tricks and you got in touch with me through your supposed magic. I’d like to see you use the same magic to get my address. If you get here in an hour, I will let you do whatever you want to me throughout the night.” I replied.
“I could do that really, but I won’t. I already invaded your privacy once, I’m not going to do it again. Anything that requires your privacy from now on will have you comd directly from you. Finding you was making a move to get what I’m sure I want. It’s left to how well I prove myself from now on. You either want me or you don’t.” He affirmed and I nodded as if he could see me.
“That’s quite impressive. But I got some other impression from it. Think I’m right?” I asked.
“Ohh yes, whatever impression you got is right. I wanted it to be a soft landing in preparation for the main landing anyway, but since you already caught it, there’s no point holding off. I want you, Vivian. Will you be mine?” He replied and the only thing that came out of my mouth was a gasp.
I like how straight he went to the point, and honestly I think I needed it because I felt so good when I saw it. After Nathan, I’ve been feeling insecure about myself, I’ve tried to get over it but seeing my masked man asked me out was the solution I had been looking for all this while.
It healed something in me instantly, even though I don’t think I’d be going ahead with it, atleast not now.
“That’s nice, but I don’t think that’s what I want at the moment. I just got out of a long relationship that got me so down. I don’t think jumping into another one so soon is the best option.” I replied.
“That happened for a reason. Heaven saw we were about to cross paths and then cleared it up for us. From the little I know about you for now, you don’t seem like someone who would entertain another man when you’re in a relationship. So you see, we wouldn’t be here now if that heartbreak didn’t happen. And I’m not trying to be dismissive or insensitive here, I’m sorry about whatever pain you went through but I’m here now. I’m going to love you so much that you’d never remember any past pain. It would just vanish. That’s what I have in plan for you. Nothing but a true and genuine love.”
I can’t count the number of times I read that message, and each time, I just blush so hard.
Yeah, I know, the plans, right? Of course, I’m still on that track and committed to it but a girl is allowed to feel good, and that’s what I’m doing. I kept reading it over and over and I just let my imaginations run wild.
“You there?” He asked and that was when I came back to reality. I was so lost in my fantasy…
