Chapter 90

Chapter 90

Jessa knew she was in the wrong. Seeing that we didn't welcome her, she left on her own.

The two of us ate our meal leisurely. Fortunately, Jessa didn't keep pestering us, or our mood would have been ruined first thing in the morning.

There was some movement from the living room. Levi put down his utensils.

"Take your time eating."

"I'm full too."

My whole body was sore. After eating a bit, I felt sleepy.

Indigo reminded us that Cleo had arrived. We exchanged glances and walked over there.

One trouble left, another arrived.

There was never a moment of peace in this house.

"Hurry up, say hello to your uncle and aunt."

Cleo pushed Hayden, making him greet us.

"Uncle Levi, Auntie Blair."

Hayden spoke to us quietly, his eyes darting away. If Cleo hadn't forced him, he probably wouldn't have wanted to talk at all. He was timid.

Hayden used to be very cheerful. He was always happy when playing with Celestia. But now he'd become quiet and overly cautious.

"Indigo, take the child to play first, to Celestia's playroom."

"Yes, Mrs. Morgan."

This time at home, we could make sure the child wouldn't get lost. The room had lots of toys. Hopefully, he could relax a bit.

Cleo brought two suitcases, one of which was a very fancy rose-red one that looked like her own.

"Thanks to you, he wants to divorce me. He's been going on about it from last night till this morning, forcing me to sign." Cleo sat down.

Levi and I looked at each other.

She continued, "I have nowhere to go. Mom's place isn't suitable—she just got back, and friends visit every day. It wouldn't look good for her to see me like this."

"Grandpa's place won't work either. I already made him so angry that he passed out. He definitely doesn't want to see me."

So she came to my place, planning to stay for a few days, treating this as her safe haven?

Or was it because Levi made everything public that she came here to make a scene?

She must be the most cowardly one in the Morgan family, always making others deal with her problems instead of solving them herself.

"I have plenty of rooms here, but won't it be inconvenient? Since he wants to divorce you, he'll definitely come looking for you."

"So what?"

I hated this nonchalant attitude of hers the most, as if staying here was perfectly reasonable.

"I promised Celestia and Faye I'd bring them back. Indigo can't handle everything alone." We didn't have many people at home, and I couldn't let Indigo deal with it all by herself.

The main concern was Michael coming to cause trouble.

"I don't need her to take care of me, and neither does my son. What's the big deal about eating and drinking at your place? Do I need to pay living expenses to stay at my own brother's house?"

I really didn't want to argue with her anymore. If Levi wasn't staying silent, it wouldn't be my turn to deal with her.

"Hayden can stay, but you can't."

Levi checked the time. "We both have to go to work and don't have time to entertain you. Leave Hayden's things here, and I'll have the driver take you home."

"I'm not going back."

Cleo pouted. She planned to stay here and not leave.

"If you two don't sort things out clearly, it's not good for the child either. Go back and talk it through with him first."

Levi was right. Her staying here and dragging things out wasn't a solution. Since Michael had cheated, from the Morgan family's perspective, she should cut ties with him.

"What's there to talk about? I don't agree to divorce."

Cleo had made up her mind not to divorce. She came to my house just to hide out for a while. Maybe one day Michael would change his mind, and she'd take the child back home.

"He cheated on you, he wants a divorce, and you're still hesitating?"

Levi couldn't understand her thinking.

Maybe men think about things more simply. When a woman faces divorce, she considers many aspects.

But Cleo was purely lovesick and hadn't been hurt enough yet. The other person had cheated and didn't want to continue living with her—there was absolutely no point in persisting.

"Just stop meddling this time, okay? You've caused me enough trouble already. You don't know how much he hates you."

Levi sighed. He was really upset with Cleo.

Before, she said Levi didn't care about his sister. Now that Levi had stepped in to handle this matter, she complained that he exposed Michael's dirty secrets. She was hopeless.

"Whatever you want."

Levi didn't want to keep arguing with Cleo. He knew his sister's personality—more words would be useless.

"You go to work first."

Levi turned to me. It looked like he planned to stay.

"Okay."

They were family, so it would be easier for them to solve the problem. My staying here wouldn't help anyway. Cleo didn't like me to begin with, and she might even lose her temper at me.

I'd rather not see it.

But things just wouldn't let me off easy. Just as I was about to leave for work, I saw Michael arrive...

He stormed in angrily, and as soon as he saw Cleo, he threw the divorce papers at her.

"You think I can't find you just because you're hiding here?" Michael said unpleasantly.

Cleo flinched when the papers hit her. She looked at Levi, and her face turned red.

"Be civilized."

Levi spoke up for his sister.

Michael had lost his usual politeness, his eyes full of hatred.

"Civilized? Are you civilized? What's the point of exposing other people's privacy like that?"

Sure enough, Michael still resented Levi. Cleo was right—he now hated the Morgan family to death.

"You're afraid of people knowing about the dirty things you did?"

Levi grabbed his collar. "My sister may not get it, but that doesn't mean you can trample on the Morgan family's dignity!"

Michael got fierce. "Don't think you can bully me just because you have the Morgan family's power. All these years, I've built my own business and supported her."

"Are you sure you haven't spent a single penny of the Morgan family's money?" Levi shot back.

Michael avoided his eyes. "I've given her more than enough money. As long as she agrees to the divorce, I'll give her compensation. It's already written in the agreement."

"The Morgan family takes care of our own. Don't think having a bit of money means you don't know who you are anymore. My sister lived with you faithfully, and you went after other women. You wronged her."

Levi felt it wasn't worth it for his sister. If it hadn't been for the Morgan family's financial support at the beginning, Michael wouldn't have his position today.

Michael's behavior of abandoning his wife after making it big was truly despicable.

"Cleo, you tell me yourself. Are you getting this divorce or not?"

Knowing he was in the wrong, he couldn't argue with Levi, so he turned his attention back to Cleo.

We all looked at Cleo, waiting for her answer.

She said timidly, "No."

We were about to lose it with her. He'd said such harsh things, and she still wanted to hold on. This was completely meaningless.

"Divorce or not, I'm getting divorced! This marriage is over!"

Michael shouted loudly, completely disregarding us. His ruthless appearance was frightening.

I dug my nails into my palm. My home had really become a refuge—whenever someone had problems, they came to my house to make a scene. In this kind of environment, I was worried about how Celestia would be affected when she came back.

"Get out of my house!"

Seeing his bad attitude, Levi drove him away.
