Chapter 105

Chapter 105

I saw Levi take the stars out of the cabin and put them on the deck. He had almost finished assembling the model.

"The documents on your left are the ones I've reviewed. You can just sign your name," Levi reminded me.

"Usually, the ones on the right are the finished ones. You're really weird."

I commented on Levi's unusual habit while reaching for the documents on the left.

"Just a personal habit."

Levi's eyes were focused on the ship model, not looking at me.

Seeing he was about to finish, I hesitated for a few seconds.

"How about you sign these instead, and I'll help you finish the last few pieces." I really felt it wasn't right for me to sign.

Levi smiled, "We're both CEOs, what's there to worry about?"

What did he mean by that? Had he already found out I was the CEO of Heartstrings Jewelry?

"Fine, I'll sign."

I couldn't say much more to him, or he'd easily get information out of me.

I picked up the pen and signed Levi's name, but I had a habit of adding a little heart at the end of my signature, so I added a heart after Levi's name, too.

"Oh no, I messed up."

I instantly felt sorry. This was totally unnecessary, and such a serious document would be laughed at if it looked like this.

Levi looked up, and when he saw it, surprise showed in his eyes.

But then he suddenly smiled and kept saying it was fine.

"How about we redo this one tomorrow? I'll sign the rest properly." This was the first time I'd done something like this for him.

Even when I was his secretary before, I'd never overstepped like this.

"No need, it doesn't matter."

Levi pressed his lips together, "Looks like you have your own special habits too."

I was beyond embarrassed. Why couldn't I control myself?

I not only liked adding hearts when signing, but I also added them when signing my design drafts. I'd had this habit since I was little.

"You should sign these instead."

I was afraid of making more mistakes.

"Daddy, Mommy, dinner's ready."

Celestia ran in, holding a new remote-control plane.

"Okay, let's go. Your mom still has some work to finish for me."

Levi stood up and walked out holding Celestia's hand. He was clearly making me do this work on purpose.

Their footsteps gradually faded away. I quickly signed his name on all the documents he'd reviewed.

Just as I was about to leave, I was still drawn to the stars on the model.

I remembered that as a child, I would write a sentence inside each star. If there really was writing inside the stars, it would prove even more that Levi was that big boy.

I looked around and carefully unfolded a star.

"Hope every day is happy."

Signed Jessa Greer with a heart.

My heart started racing inexplicably. I could almost be certain these were my stars.

So when Levi saw my signature just now, would he have recognized that I was that confused little girl?

He even teased me about having my own habits.

I hurriedly folded the star back along its original creases and put it back in its original position.

I don't know why, but my world was quietly changing. I thought I had intruded into Levi's life, but we'd met when we were so young. He kept the stars, which meant he cared about that girl from back then, too?

"Mrs. Morgan, let's go eat. Just pretend they don't exist. You can't go hungry. It's not good for your health to keep this up."

Indigo came to call me for dinner, just as I reached the door.

"Let's go."

I opened the door, and Indigo jumped.

She patted her chest, "Mrs. Morgan, these past few days you weren't home, Mr. Morgan was like he'd lost his soul. He was always alone in the study."

"Well, he didn't come looking for me either."

I felt unhappy. If he really cared about me, he wouldn't have waited until today to find me.

"You're being unfair to him. Several times, he contacted you right in front of me, and when he saw you wouldn't even answer my calls, he was really down."

I really hadn't answered anyone's calls these past few days, but answering or not made no difference—Cleo and Jessa were still doing whatever they wanted in my house.

"Do you think this situation in my house is normal?"

"Give Mr. Morgan some time, and sometimes when certain people get bored with being unwelcome, things naturally work out."

Indigo's words made sense, but by the time Cleo and the others got bored, I'd probably be dead from anger.

"Mommy, hurry up, we're waiting for you."

Celestia stood at the door, calling out. I could only bite the bullet and go to the dining room.

"Okay, coming now."

Indigo smiled, "This is good. If you and your husband are united, even if they want to affect you, they won't be able to."

"Yeah."

That may be true, but outsiders can never truly understand.

Indigo went to do other things, and I went to the dining room alone.

They were all seated, none of them having started eating.

"Mommy, today it's all your favorite dishes."

Celestia happily served me food. She really was my sweet little angel.

"Yes, today it's all your mom's favorites. Not a single dish we like. Your dad is clearly playing favorites."

Cleo started using her utensils first. She complained with her mouth, but her hands were busy, constantly filling her own bowl.

"Auntie Cleo, if you don't like it, you can order takeout. Takeout is really convenient now."

"You little girl, what do you know? Even you're picking on me now?"

Celestia shook her head, "Auntie Cleo, I'm not picking on you. Don't accuse me."

"You have the same temper as your mom. Can't even say anything to you?"

Levi coughed lightly twice, reminding her not to talk too much.

But Cleo was not one to back down.

"We've only stayed a few days. How much of your food could we possibly eat? When you came to my house before, I treated you well."

"Auntie Cleo, I've never eaten at your house."

"You..."

Celestia had indeed never been to her house. Levi had never entered her door either. When she insisted on marrying Michael, no one in the Morgan family could stop her. Levi had only seen her to the front door.

"Celestia, I see you like this dish. Here, you can have mine too." Jessa picked up her portion.

"No need, this portion is enough for me."

Rejected by Celestia, Jessa looked a bit annoyed, too.

"I want your portion."

Hayden asked for Jessa's portion, which made her smile again.

But just as she picked it up, Cleo stopped her.

"Why are you eating so much? Why do you want what others don't want!"

I thought Cleo and Jessa had been getting along well these past few days, but with this comment, Cleo instantly showed how fragile their relationship was.

In the end, Cleo looked down on everyone.

"True, eating too much can cause indigestion."

Jessa made an excuse for herself, but her face looked terrible.
