Chapter 21
“Stop staring at the ladies,” I said, unable to control my jealousy anymore. Although I was enjoying the beautiful buildings we walked past, I couldn't pretend that I didn't see my mate staring at the ladies walking past.
“I'm not allowed to stare at the ladies neither am I allowed to admire you, so what should I do then?" He chuckled but I maintained my straight face.
“I don't know, look at the skies maybe." I retorted.
“It's not like I'm complaining about the guys gawking at you too though,” he mumbled but I could pick the jealousy hinting in his tone. I shot him a brief smile.
“That's what you get when you have a lady like me as your mate."
“It's not like you're that pretty though,” he teased, and I glared. He laughed and all I could do was secretly admire his laughter. The joy blooming in his eyes. I quickly shook those thoughts off and walked away from him briskly.
“That's what you get for punishing me,” he teased again as he joined my side again. I rolled my eyes but deep down I wanted us to hold hands as we walked. I wanted us to laugh at his silliest jokes, but I couldn't let my guard down. My body still retained my burning desire to have him, touching him would only increase our hormones drive.
“I think we should have twins in the future,” his voice pitched excitedly, and I frowned. I was beginning to hate myself all over again. I shouldn't have brought it up but maybe he was right. A part of me wanted Zeus and I to be the perfect couple, a part of me wanted us to have a family.
“For goodness’s sake, stop talking about us having children!" He chuckled.
“Well, you brought it up. And I'm sure you've considered having kids with me at a point."
“Zeus!" I glared at him and all he did was flash wear an innocent grin.
“You don't even know what the future holds for us." I muttered trying as much to hide the sadness that came along.
“Our future is glorious,” he chirped with so much confidence.
“You're too optimistic for your own good. Life is not a fairytale where you can have everything you want."
“I know,” he quoted on a stern note.
“I've had my own fair share of this fucked up world. But with you," his smile returned.
“I know that life would at least a give us a beautiful chance."
I heaved a light sigh as we trailed towards a chair in the park. My mind wandered to my family. We never for once operated like a proper family. There was my monstrous father, my hopeless mother, and her weak children. I didn't want to relive that experience again, not for Zeus and me.
We sat by each other, staring at the cheerful kids running around. A smile inadvertently crept to my face.
“I come from the Hunter Family Green." The smile on my face vanished immediately. My gaze darted to him. The once bright countenance he wore had now grown into a sad one. But his gaze was still retained on the kids running around. The Hunter family were top-notch assassins, if not the best. Werewolves that came from that bloodline were known to be merciless and dangerous and truth be told, I feared them a little. But no one has heard from them for a long time. And having one as my mate, was certainly shocking.
“Long ago while my father was still in tune with the family business, he met my mother. She was the Regent of a small coven at that time. They were mates and of course they fell in love." He pursed his lips.
“All of a sudden, my father decided to leave the family business. To carve his own path which led to my Grandfather hating him. He saw my father as weak, an insult to the family's legacy, and he saw my mother has the cause of his weakness." He paused again.
“And then I was born." He smiled sadly. "The Hunters hatred towards my parents seemingly died down. Every one of them grew admiration for me simply because I was special. After all, I was the first hybrid in their bloodline, the first Werewolf that could do magic." He paused again as his hand trembled a bit.
“Then my Grandfather invited us for the annual Hunter house party. My parents thought we were forgiven and so we went. Little did we—” his voice trailed off as the trembling began again. "Little did we know that the whole family had decided to murder my parents." His trembling stopped but his eyes were gradually soaking.
“I watched like a helpless child I was as my grandfather took the life of his son. They made me watch as my Uncle tortured my mother to death. And then I was locked in the dungeon," he pursed again as he raised his right hand. Claws gradually protruded from his fingers. He stared at them as if he were reliving those moments.
“And then I realized they only loved me not because I was adorable but because they saw my powers as a tool. My Grandfather specifically gave me all kind of tortures and merciless training till pain became a normal feeling for me.
Years passed and indeed I became that tool, I became that monster they trained me to be. He started giving me missions and trust me," he smiled sadly at those claws.
“I was the best amongst my cousins. I loved the bloodlust, I loved preying, I loved hearing the cry and agony of my victims. But all that monstrosity gradually stopped one day. I met her." He pursed his lips as his claws retracted.
“Ria was her name, she was a witch and in fact, we became best of friends. All she ever wanted for me was to drop that old life. But I was adamant until the day she died." He paused again. "And at that point, everything flashed before me again with only one question in my head, was this the life my parents would have wanted for me?
I decided to leave the Hunter household just like my father and surprisingly my grandfather didn't object. Till now I don't know why he allowed me to be free, but I left regardless. And then along this new life I started, I met you." He pursed his lips as he faced me. My heart skipped a bit and my eyes twitched. In a strange way, I felt the need to comfort him, but I just kept on staring regardless.
“Having a mate is a beautiful thing Green. And I never thought I was worthy to have one after all I've done. But then it wasn't a dream, you were indeed my mate." He heaved a light sigh with a tiny smile complementing his face.
“I'm ready to go through hell for you to be mine Green.
Because the truth is, you're the most beautiful thing that has ever occurred in my life and I'm not ready," his voice trailed off as he kept staring into my eyes.
“I don't want to lose you."
My heart fluttered, and I could feel a new wave of excitement course through me from just staring into those eyes alone. I wished I could say those words back but there were already more than a thousand reasons for me not to accept him.
“Oh shit,” he exclaimed, looking up to the sky as it started drizzle. "We have to return now." He turned to me, but I wriggled my head.
“I still want to remain here for a while,” I said, enjoying the tiny droplets of water soaking my clothes.
“We'll be drenched Green, besides there's lot of work to be done at your Clan."
“I'm sure Martha will he handling those work just fine,” I said with a tiny smile. He held my gaze for a while before he finally smiled too.
“In that case, why don't we visit my place?" He proposed. "And I'm sure you wouldn't mind meeting my friends."
I almost bit my lower lip while several thoughts roamed my head. I wondered what kind of place he lived in, or they type of friends he had.
“Well, that's not a bad idea I guess." I remarked and then he grabbed my left palm as we arose.
“No touching." I quoted, he chuckled nervously before letting go. We walked in silence under the rain for some minutes till we arrived a luxurious bar.
“And welcome to Hunter's Bar!" He gestured at the story building in a grand manner.
“You live here?" I mumbled in awe. "In a bar?"
He laughed.
“No! But I own this place so I kinda sleep upstairs sometimes." I nodded with a tiny smile gracing my lips.
“Well, the outlook looks interesting."
“Wait till you get inside." He chuckled. "Shall we?"
Once we emerged into the building, my eyes gawked at the beauty of its interior and then my ears were graced by the cheerful noise of a gang seated by the bar table. And a few humans busy with their drinks.
“Amazing right?" He whispered and I rolled my eyes causing him to chuckle.
“Hey Guys!" He waved at the gang and their eyes immediately fell on us. The once cheerful countenance they all had were instantly replaced by horror.
They arose sharply, their petrified gazes focused on both of us. Without doubt, I knew this Werewolves were Zeus's friends. One of them began to pee his pants and it took energy not to laugh as we approached them.
“Green," Zeus said with his endearing smile still intact. "This are my friends, Peter," he pointed to the most handsome one, his dark hair just as messy as Zeus's. "Simon," he pointed to the young one who peed. "Theodore, Maxwell and Scott."
I maintained my smile, enjoying their fear-stricken countenance. It was certain, this people had already heard of me and perhaps already thinking I was going to hurt them. None of them even dared to say a word, as if they had suddenly lost their tongues.
“Guys, this is—”
“Green." Peter and Simon interjected in a fear-stricken tone.
“Yes," he affirmed. "Green and I will go have some change of clothes and we'll be back shortly."
I arched my eyebrows upwards for a brief moment before realization struck me, we were drenched. We both walked up the stairs and across the hallway.
“Your friends are quite amusing,” I said with laughter minting alongside. "Especially Simon. He peed himself."
He laughed. "They fear you and seeing you here worsened it all."
“And Peter is quite the handsome one." I teased and then he stopped before a door eyeing me.
“I'm hotter," he answered before opening his door. "Damn I forgot to clean this place." He quickly shut the door, but I dragged him away.
“No Green,” he pitched but I sauntered in regardless. I was instantly welcomed with the scent of olive and several paintings and drawings scattered all over his small room. My lips slightly parted as I stared awestruck at the paintings and drawings. They were all about one person. Me.
A smile graced my lips as I trailed slowly to one of them standing by his bedside. I ran my fingers slowly across the drawing. How was he so perfect, my smile, the gleam in my eyes, he got everything right.
“Before you tear me to pieces, I'm no stalker,” he quickly mentioned behind my back, but I bit my lower lips in admiration.
“Few days before I met you, I kept having the same dreams about you and so I drew it." He paused but I still kept admiring his drawing.
“Why don't I find you a shirt and a coat perhaps,” he added before walking to the wardrobe opposite me. I walked to another one, repeating the same thing.
“Okay, I think I've found you one,” he muttered and then sauntered behind my back.
“They're beautiful." I whispered.
“Green," his cold palm touched my shoulder gently and I immediately felt the rise in sensation. My burning desire raged on a higher note and this time, I lost control. I was going to do something I might regret.
“You should change now,” he added as I turned to him, holding an oversize blue shirt and a pair of his shorts.
I looked into his Hazel eyes and all I could see was lust intertwined with love. He was going through the same sensation as I was too. His hand refused to leave my shoulder and his eyes kept gleaming at mine.
I closed the gap between us, tossing the clothes in his hand away. But he didn't object, rather he smiled. Letting tiny droplets of water drop from his hair to my chest. My body shuddered as he slowly wrapped his hand around my waist. His other hand slipped from my shoulder to my chin. So, I was looking up to his lips. His head slowly lowered to mine till our lips locked. Our tongues briskly intertwined as our kiss migrated from a slow to fast pace. I bit his lower lips, enjoying that familiar taste I missed. I clung to him, curling my hand around his neck and the other on his waist.
“We shouldn't be doing this." I whispered as our lips separated for a brief moment.
“But we are,” he whispered too, and our lips bruised against each other again. Our tongues fighting for domination. His hand briskly pulled my clothes off, and I did so likewise. We fell to his tiny that creaked but none of us cared. I moaned as his hand fondled my breast. I could feel his crotch poking against my thigh, its warmth making my leg shudder.
His lips slipped from mine and then slowly across my neck. My eyes closed in ecstasy as another moan escaped. His tongue started sliding across my neck and down to my breasts. I shuddered as I felt series of sparks exploding across my entirety.
As he returned his lips to mine, kissing me tenderly and slow, I felt his crotch slid into me. I screamed in ecstasy not minding the fact we could be heard. And with every thrust, with every excitement that came with it, the answer was became clearer to me. I loved him. His pace increased becoming more powerful each moment. Our breaths became unstable, his warmth swarmed over me like a gentle breeze, I was about to lose myself completely.
My eyes jolted awake, beaming a bright shade of green and his eyes too, gleaming its beautiful blue.
“Mark me." I whispered.
“Green..." He paused but my grasp around his back tightened.
“Mark me." I affirmed again with a smile.
He smiled too and went for the left side of my neck while I went for his left too. We both bared our canines before sinking it into each other's skin. If I had expected it to be painful, I was deceiving myself.
I screamed the loudest my cords could carry from ecstasy, I lost control of my body as the sweetness, the excitement, the sparks overwhelmed me. He retained his smile, his eyes assuring me everything was perfectly beautiful. And then my eyes darted to the golden butterflies flying around us.
“I love you Green,” he said in the sweetest voice I've ever heard before sealing his lips against mine again. This time, his tongue didn't dominate me instead his kiss carried so many emotions.
I closed my eyes slowly, wishing this moment shouldn't come to an end. Maybe I might regret it but just this time, I was going to enjoy this moment with my mate.
Just this time.
