Chapter Three: Remorse of going for Dinner with a stranger
Nicholas and Jane’s POV
Back to my senses I realized someone pushed me and fell into Nicholas’s chest and I guessed it was by accident since it was a busy street any other pedestrian may had pushed me not intentionally and I continued to apologize saying am sorry Nicholas this time I used his name trying to hide how tensed I was . I had always been a hard nut to crack but with Nicholas in front of me I was parting for oxygen with great force acting on my legs I couldn’t stand well but I tried to hold myself confidently up straight looking in the eyes of Nicholas.
Nicholas folded his fists into his trouser pockets as he added its ok help me drop the parker in the dustbin as he turned back to point at it as I keenly watched his body gesturers in my mind the thoughts were running what if the food in the parker that I was about to throw away was the meal Nicholas was going to eat as a first thinker I decided to take advantage of his quite character and dominate the jazz where I ended up forcing him to go for supper with me at the nearby restaurant .
While in the restaurant Nicholas could not look at me but all his attention was on his phone nor could he elevate his eyes to the waitress who was taking our order as I causally spoke up “Justine drop me the usually.”I had known this waitress because I was familiar with the restaurant and she was my favourate waitress because she was Jolly girl.
I still had to dominate the speaking because Nicholas seemed wordless as I added Nicholas why don’t you look at me is it because am Ugly? , which brought a smile on his face just trying to pick up a word from him I jested again what if I told you , I love you and let’s take this to be our first date which made him grin unstoppably but still without saying anything I felt ashamed of my fake jazz and I apologized saying sorry is me! I was kidding I just wanted you to smile a bit.
Then I went silent as the waiter delivered our orders I focused on my food as a hungry lion neither did Nicholas say anything he too concentrated on his food as if we were strangers seated against each other as for me I was regretting in my heart roots having chosen to have dinner with a boring friend but never the less I couldn’t say anything but just to keep dump silent trying to give Nicholas a clear environment.
I walked up to the cashier’s table pulled out my pass and countered notes to pay but a hand from my back stopped me and a credit card was received by the cashier with a voice run through my left ear to my brain saying “a gentle man should pay for the first date” I couldn’t help it by to grin unstoppably for Nicholas’s good treat as I elevated my eyes on to his serious face and said thank you.
