Chapter 27

A ray of sunlight crept through the gap between the curtains, casting its bright light on her closed eyes. Her eyelashes fluttered and a sigh escaped her lips. Eyelids opened and eyes fell on the sleeping girl, whose hair lay in a wave on the pillow, shimmering red in the light. Eyebrows furrowed, and the heart began to pound with fear several times faster. Snippets of yesterday flashed through his head like a book. Dances, words of love and soft kisses, alcohol in the body, a soft bed and fire in the blood. The boy sighed tiredly as he rolled over onto his back again with his eyes closed. The thought of kicking the girl out vanished, calming her nerves and the rapid pounding of her heart against her chest. Now he didn't mind the idea that he'd done the wrong thing by leaving her here because it was Hailey.

And this did not need to look for other reasons.

After all, this was the girl who made James feel calm and ecstatic.

He loves her and she loves him,

but none of them can understand it until now,

only the need for each other, which grows stronger every time.

James opened his eyes, turning to face Mackenzie. His gaze moved gently down every inch of her face. Her shoulders were bare because the blanket had slipped down as she spun around. The guy's gaze traveled over her face, enjoying the sight of the sleeping girl, who captivated his heart.

Her black and thick eyelashes fluttered, after which the eyelids opened slightly, but immediately closed when the young lady realized that the young man was not sleeping.

'I know you're awake now,' the blond man chuckled, uttering the words in a hoarse morning voice.

'It's morning,' Hailey began, fixing her gaze on the boy. 'And you're not going to kick me out?'

'Why should I, angel?'

'Some girls said that you don't leave the girls at your house or room until the morning. You immediately chase them away...'

'You're not one of them, Hailey, I already told you that.'

'Who am I?' Mackenzie raised herself on her elbows, looking at Foster with interest.

'My angel apparently.'

James pushed the girl back onto her back, on top of her. His lips began to leave soft kisses on the neck, collarbones and shoulders, receiving a ringing laugh from Hailey.

A brown-haired woman with a red tint of hair pushed the guy away from her, rising on the bed with her body up. The expression on his face instantly changed to one of surprise. The eye was immediately taken aback by the many ink words and sentences that were handwritten by Foster.

James followed the direction of the observed object, which shocked his companion, feeling how her body temperature began to rise rapidly. His pulse quickened and something inside him seemed to collapse, shattering into a thousand pieces.

'Damn, you're not supposed to see this!' The blond shouted desperately, but before he had time to put Mackenzie back into bed, the brown-haired woman jumped up from her place, wrapping her body in white sheets as she went, after which she approached the black wall as close as possible.

No one before, except for Nick, knew about this hobby and did not even see him. All secrecy went to hell when he got closer to the girl who was deeply rooted in his heart.

Foster just didn't know...

To be closer to Hailey, he needed to open up to her more and more.

Numerous feelings are expressed on the wall that people experience when they are not in the best mood. All the pain and frustration that James has felt over the years and days. Sadness was poured with paint on a clean snow-white wall, turning it into darkness.

'I'm tired of everything.'

'I hate it. I ha-te it.'

'One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, fuck it all.'

'Nine, ten.'

'All of you will rot in the ground.'

'I spit on your grave.'

'A subtle light in pitch darkness.'

'Scream louder, cry harder, keep hating on me. I'm used to it.'

The girl knitted her eyebrows, upset by the negative read. Foster stood behind, carefully watching the young lady. He had already pulled black boxers over his body as soon as he got out of bed.

'I need you more and more.'

'Don't be afraid of me, but at the same time I want you to do it.'

'The return of prodigal people continues.'

On the other side of the room, there was a whole section of wall covered in the same words.

'Do you think I'm crazy now?' The young man asked without emotion, remaining completely indifferent, because he already understood that he had lost everything he had.

There will be a new post tonight.

The brown-haired woman lowered her eyes, coming to a standstill from such a question. A long silence caused Foster to leave the bedroom somewhere else, but just as he was about to leave, a quiet answer slipped from the girl's lips: 'No.'

'Why?'

'Because everyone has the right to feel something. Unfortunately, we do not choose which.'

James walked over to Mackenzie again, looking in the same direction as she.

'I'm just sorry that you didn't feel or maybe just didn't write down all your good thoughts here.'

'I felt they were here,' the index finger touched the wall, somewhere closer to the corner.

The guy removed his hand, immediately returning back to the bed. He leaned back on the pillow, continuing to look at the brown-haired woman with a reddish tinge of hair.

'Hailey, Hailey Mackenzie.'

'Beautiful.'

'Her smile drives me crazy.'

'Sing to me sometime.'

'Did you hear me sing?' The girl turned around to meet the young man's eyes.

'I had to eavesdrop, angel,' James replied calmly, winking playfully.

'Angel with the soul of a Demon.'

'This is about me?' Hailey wondered as she read aloud.

'Just admit it.'

Mackenzie continued to learn more and more positive records about herself, which undoubtedly pleased the soul. It was nice to realize that you bring someone some kind of joy or just pleasure. But the brown-haired woman was frightened only by one obsessive thought, which spoke loudly in her head, that Foster had become quite attached to her.

And when in the very corner she noticed a small black heart and a short inscription next to it, the girl realized that it was so.

'I like you.' ❤️

All sorts of streams of words in her head abruptly stopped, throwing out all thoughts completely.

Hailey turned on her heels, walking slowly towards the bed. She lay down next to James, resting her head on a strong man's chest. His fingers dug into his long, silky hair, twirling strand after strand.

'You're scared?' The girl suddenly asked.

'No.'

'Why? I'm now the person who knows everything about you. Doesn't that thought scare you?'

'You don't know everything about me yet,' the boy protested, stopping his actions.

'Tell me, you have nothing to lose,' Mackenzie lifted her head, looking into pure blue eyes, which she rarely saw.

'Are you sure you want to know me?' The brown-haired woman nodded positively. 'There will be no going back.'

'Let me get to know you, James Foster.'

The large room was filled with bright light, which came through large panoramic windows. A cozy light brown sofa stood in the middle of the living room, next to which stood a small glass table, on which there was a working laptop with a bunch of documents next to it.

The curly-haired guy reached for the phone, instantly dialing a familiar number.

'The subscriber is temporarily unavailable, please leave a voice message after the beep,' said a pleasant female voice, announcing the possibility of further actions.

The young man sighed in disappointment, instantly losing all his fighting spirit: 'James, I did it. Believe it or not, I was finally able to put together all the puzzles of the whole picture as a whole. I know how your mother died. We must meet urgently. At our place at 3 pm.'

Tonri ended the voicemail, dropping the call. He leaned back against the plush sofa, resting his gaze on Evans' bare torso.

'Nathan,' the guy turned around with a mug of tea in one hand, the other leaning against the kitchen cabinet.

'I know you work for Williams Foster.'

The brown-haired man raised his eyebrows, as if confirming by this action the correctness of this proposal.

'Also, I trust you.'

'Oh, my sun, are you afraid that I will tell him about your affair with the younger Foster?' Evans left the hot tea on the table as he walked over to the couch before taking a seat next to Dean.

'You won't do it?' The young man asked suspiciously, furrowing his brows.

The boy took Tonri's chin with his long fingers, confidently maintaining eye contact with him.

'If you weren't involved in this case, I would tell, because it's my duty.'

Nathan kissed the guy on the lips, smiling brightly to defuse the tension.

He quickly got to his feet, turning around one last time before taking a shower.

'You don't have to worry.'

One part of the guy wanted to believe Evans, but the other stubbornly denied the veracity of his words.

The car was driving along the highway, starting to slow down slowly when a familiar place appeared on the horizon.

James stopped the car, reflexively placing his hand on the glove box to retrieve his cell phone, but he wasn't there.

'Hell!' Foster clapped his hand on his knee in utter frustration.

'What happened?'

'I think I left my phone in the bedroom.'

'Everything is in order, you will rest from the numerous calls.'

'Okay,' the guy sighed tiredly, pausing for a second. 'You wanted to know me? Well, welcome to my world.'

They were sitting on a hill near the forest. There was a beautiful view of the city, over which the sun shone. The weather was really warm and sunny today, which was quite surprising, as it was quite overcast all week, which is a common thing in London.

Two young people sat on a blanket enjoying the scenery. No one uttered a word, and it was not necessary. The silence was something more special for the moment.

The guy finally gathered his thoughts: 'My name is James Foster, my father is Williams Foster and my mother is Jessica Foster.'

The girl turned her head towards the blond, carefully listening to the story of his life.

'I was happy and so was my family. I was loved and love,' the young man pursed his lips, intending to approach the most unpleasant. 'And then the murder happened.'

'Killing who?'

'I found my mother in a pool of her own blood in our house on my way home from school.'

Pictures of memories appeared before his eyes, making him feel all that pain again.

'I'm really, really sorry, Jay,' the brown-haired woman sat closer, hugging the guy with all her might.

'My father became disgusting after her death. He began to hate me and every night he took different girls to him.'

'Who killed Jessica?'

'My father, I'm sure. There is a lot of evidence, but he skillfully hid it. The only thing I don't understand is why did he kill her?'
